Quote of the Day

Rush Limbaugh, discussing the failed GOP response to the dear leader's State of the Union speech last night.  It applies to so much more.
I've never seen people elected and serving in office as out of touch with the pulse of the country in my life.  . . . I have never seen the people elected to serve be so out of touch and so unaware, stymied, surprised by the attitudes and the things that are important to the people in the country. Add to it, when the elected class, the political class, find out what is really important to the people who've elected them, they scoff at it and they pooh-pooh it!

None of the Democrats, the old media or the establishment GOP want to admit it, but the momentum behind Trump and Cruz comes from an angry, focused and determined group of people with the Tea Party as their common trait.  Limited government, reduced spending and strong national security.  That's all they wanted in 2010.  2012.  2014.

I would have expected a third-party run in 2016, which would have failed miserably.  Instead, we are watching an insurgency from with the GOP.  It has created a feeling of hope that I haven't felt in a while.  We'll see if it carries the day.
