Politico: Kasich lashes out: ‘What has happened to the conservative movement?’

Apparently, this is not a joke.

Kasich really said it.

And the left-wing media jumped on it in an effort to confuse Republican voters.

I suspect this article has doubled Kasich's voter base.

To four.

Four people who either don't know what 'conservative' means, or four people who don't know Gov. Kasich embraced ObamaCare as Ohio's Governor. 

There is too much waste:

Kasich is wasting space in the GOP field,
The Politico is wasting space on the Internet, and
For some unknown reason, I am wasting time on this.

I think I'm going to walk over to the Glorious Hat factory and give an enlightening speech on the Proletarian Rationale for Reduced-Calorie Meals.

Our dear leader has found a way to surrender without using a white flag.  Just call the mission "over" and pull the troops out.

...ISIS — the larger point there is that because the President decided to complete a full withdrawal from Iraq — and of course we can go back and debate the circumstances around that, but you didn’t have the status forces agreement with the Iraqi’s that you wanted to have and so forth — that that vacuum allowed ISIS to develop into the threat to this country and to that region that they are today. I created the White Flag Spotting blog tag back when I started Ushanka.  It was a great way to collect all the cartoons making fun of liberals who were furious at W's war successes and the millions of newly freed Iraqis and Afghans.  Click on the label below to go back in time to remember a day when it was Democrats waving the flag with tears in their eyes.

That was then.  This is now.

Hat owner and comrade, Diann, has captured the flag-wavers of today.

In one word: disgrace.

Impeachment is long past due - assuming the lower standards of Affirmative Action do not apply to the presidency...

Maybe Obama's impeachment will be a 2-step process:  Step 1) Strip weak Republicans from their leadership roles in congress, and Step 2) Impeach the president of the United States for violating the Constitution.

I'm fine with impeachment dying in the Senate as it did the last time this country elected a Democrat.  The important thing is that people who claim to adhere to values and standards act on those values and standards.  If they can't act, then at least they can answer this question:

How many tens of thousands of illegals must enter this country before the open borders justifies an impeachable offense?

White Flag - It is not just for Democrats

Wasthington Post:

Top senators struck a deal Wednesday to reopen the government and extend the federal government's borrowing authority into next year and both sides of the Capitol are hoping for quick action to reassure nervous financial markets eyeing a Thursday deadline set by the Treasury Department.

First, let's call BS.  The "financial markets" were not nervous.  If anything, they were churning away with zero concern about the govt shutdown or "looming" debt limit increase.  Despite the best efforts of the MSM, most know that no default would occur without our dear leader's decision to default.  But the hype carried the day nonetheless.

More proof that some smart people were right all along.  People like Peter Schiff, Ann Barnhardt and RawDog are vindicated by today's news.  Their warning: BOTH parties like the free flow of spending, just as the Fed likes the endless money-printing.  Nobody has the courage to stop.  

Assuming the Schiffs are correct about future predictions, the pain that everyone will feel in quality of life and career opportunities, if not global war, will be more severe with each make-believe dollar being printed and spent.

An Obama Compromise

We keep hearing our Dear Leader tell us those rascally Republicans won't compromise. Here is an example of Compromise Obama expects.

FoxNews: Sources: Obama Administration to Drop Troop Levels in Iraq to 3,000

Currently, about 45,000 U.S. troops are stationed in Iraq. The generals on the ground had requested that the number of troops remaining in Iraq at the end of the year reach about 27,000. But, there was major pushback about "the cost and the political optics" of that decision that the number was then reduced to 10,000.

Current strength: 45,000.
Suggested (Generals): 27,000.
Suggested (Liberals): 10,000.
Obama Compromise: 3,000.

We're sure this won't put our soldiers in harms way, or threaten Iraq's security. Nah.

He is the Commander in Chief and it is his right to make this call. We know how bitter he is having been exposed as a fraud. Of course, he is the one who did the exposing with every decision so far. And this is his way to respond to the new criticisms.

Angry? Yes! But we are only surprised it took this long. We're on the record as praising Obama's continuation of the War on Terror - something we seriously did not expect in 2009.

On Obama's Watch

Not completely fair to blame Obama for the moth-balling of our manned space program. The end was forecasted in the Clinton years, and Clinton nor Bush made any effort to invest past the aging shuttle.

But it is a fact that this ended on Obama's watch, much like a robust private sector or parent confidence that their children will have more opportunities for success than they did.

The man, and his DNC party and MSM mouthpieces, must be remembered for what they did to the US. We'll continue to do our part to record today for tomorrow's reference.

Retreat

Waiting for a new white flag cartoon is like waiting for the Democrat Party to push a policy that either contributes to American's economic growth or America's standing in the world.

The former came today. We're still waiting for the latter....

Our Dear Leader has re-announced our withdrawal surrender in Afghanistan - the war he once called 'the right war' back when he called Iraq 'the wrong war'.

In case you've lost track: The 'right' war today is, of course, Libya. But it is not a war. Yemen is a close 2nd, with Afghanistan now at 3rd and Iraq still in last place. We suppose the Libya, Yemen and Afghanistan wars would all be over had that dastardly George W. Bush not taken us into Iraq.

Imagine Peace.

We think a downsize of troops in Afghanistan should be conducted by the generals, with no political gamesmanship or attention. So much for our view.

We think this announcement is a slap in our troops' faces. While we want every American home as soon as possible, we don't want them used as pawns in a polling-numbers scheme for some politician who never wore the uniform.

We hope this announcement has military merit and the Afghans can begin to stand on their own. The cost tomorrow, if this is not the case, will be far more expensive than any polling gains today.

The War is Over!

So says the Dear Leader as he announced this past week that the US role in the Iraq was is over.

Victory? Nah. Troops coming home? Nope. Hostilities over? Not really. The Iraqi government stable? Getting there.

One less criticism from his devout supporters at the Communist Party USA? Yes.

Obama says it is "time to turn the page" as he leaves 50,000 combat troops in Iraq.

Is this a US surrender in Iraq? Probably not, but it is worthy of a post to look back at the positions Obama and his fellow Democrats chose to take once the anger of 9-11 took a back seat to Democrat Party's (The Party's) power - roughly on 9-12.

Is it good to force the Iraqis to accelerate their adoption of their own security, as The Party will tell us is the main reason for this announcement? Yes, but. The but: the President's other option for pressuring the Iraqis would have been to talk-up the accomplishments of Iraqis - often, state in no uncertain terms the US commitment to self-governing people - everywhere, push allies to do the same while decreasing US forces in a transparent manner on a measured timetable dictated by security reviews of our generals and the experts on the ground.

We see this announcement as nothing more than an overwhelmed and incompetent President removing a critical issue from his desk after deep, philosophical thought during his recent six vacations. It gives him one more reason to ignore those phone calls from pesky, opportunistic generals - as if he needed one - and gives him an 'out' if Iraq slips into chaos.
