Quote of the Day

From Mr. B:

If it is time to bury 'em,,.....

it's time to dig 'em up and use 'em.

Did You Know?

The proposed firearms law will apply the 1934 National Firearms Act (NFA) law to all firearms rather than machine guns and other 'exotic' firearms and accessories.  This includes:

1) Direct registration with ATF including $200 licensing fee and, currently, an 8-month wait,
2) No inheritance.  All registered firearms must be turned in upon the owner's death. (Not an NFA rule).
3) 10-year minimum Federal sentence for each violation.

Among many things, this proposed law will reduce the value of private property to zero, and disarm the American population within two generations.

Did You Know?

The proposed legislation would not have deterred the recent Connecticut school shooter or reduced his body count.

Don't Forget:

And don't forget the bloodshed at the hands of the federal government.  Ruby Ridge (2 dead) and Waco (76 dead) were both triggered by the suspicion that NFA firearms existed but the owners had not paid their $200 licensing tax.

This proposed legislation shouldn't be an issue.  There is always a Democrat who has a list of guns he thinks are scary needs to confiscate before he can gain full control of his political opponents.  Unfortunately, our Republican majority in the House is full of flaccid ineffective opportunists.  Hence the current hand-wringing of people who have a long history of not breaking laws (gun owners).

A Ushanka Tip to Mr. B for inspiring this post and and our 'use em or lose em' approach to posting images.

Comrade Davis M.J. Aurini, blogmaster at Stares at the World, wears our hat as he expands on the thoughts behind our Liberal Progressive Communist side-placard.

25:00:  "A liberal would rather rule in Hell than serve in Heaven."

27:20: "Liberal. Progressive.  And Marxist.  Marx is just a liberal who's going a little bit too fast.  He's going fast enough that we can notice the damage he's doing."

He also uses words like "responsibility" when explaining the differences between us and the left.  And in describing the hat, he even used the word "brilliant!"  What a comrade!

We should be back online by Monday.

Guns: The Lost Narrative

Oh what a difference a week makes!

Remember way back when?  A loon stole some guns and shot and killed 27 people, including 20 children.  A major tragedy that should have sparked a national conversation about mental health, but instead sparked a circus.

America's Liberals Progressives Communists jumped into high gear and demanded that all Americans disarm.  Well, not exactly.  But that is the end goal, and that was the narrative.

Today, those ancient demands are long lost on the battlefield with their ideological foes: the gun culture.

Important Safety Tip: Crossing America's gun culture is like crossing the streams.  "It would be bad."

We've been laughing ourselves silly this past week.  Like ushanka-wearing crabs in a bucket, libs are all over themselves in chasing the disarmament spotlight.

Their crab-like behavior has exposed their flaws and changed the narrative forever.

Like we predicted, "The discussion, for only those who are paying attention, will boil down to three words: Gun Free Zone."

NBC Meet the Press host David Gregory has joined the bitter clingers.  He is now facing stupid charges based on stupid laws after he brandished an empty AR-15 magazine on his DC show.

Welcome to the club, David.

David, now you know the oppression America's gun owners feel as they try to comply with numerous overlapping irrational gun-control laws - laws that were created to supposedly stop criminals from using guns - criminals who never obeyed the laws and never will.

We join the calls for David to be charged to the full extent of the law, just as he would demand of us.

Because the dirty little secret about gun control is, the laws ARE meant for the law abiding.  Gun control is only about "control."  Until the shot was heard 'round the world at the North Bridge outside Concord, those were law-abiding citizens too.  But they said "no" to more gun control that day so that we could say "no" today.

And by the way, EVERY rifle on April 19, 1775 WAS an 'assault rifle.'

NBC and David Gregory changed the narrative.

If that isn't enough, a British citizen - not unlike those at the North Bridge - is demanding that Americans turn in their firearms.  "Why do you need an assault rifle?" he yells into the gun culture's sound-proof wind tunnel.  Apparently CNN is still on the air, and their British gun-grabber is a discredited journalist named Piers Morgan.

If a CNN host calls for gun control, but nobody is watching, does he make a sound?

There is a petition asking that Peirs be deported from US soil as he is violating his immigration promise to respect our Constitution.  it is gaining steam.  We were #75,890.

Click here to sign the petition - now at #86,144.

CNN and Piers Morgan changed the narrative.

Gannet, a MSM newpaper company, tried to change the narrative back.  They published the addresses of every gun owner in Rockland and Westchester counties.   You can read more about this story at IOTW.

Some see this as an invite to criminals who would like to steal guns - like that loon in CT did a few weeks ago.  Remember?

Others see this as an invite to burglars who don't want to be shot, as they now know which houses do not have an armed resident.

We suspect no crime will be committed based on this story, as criminals mostly come from Democrat-voting demographics which are often described as lazy, disinclined to action, and slow moving.  Like voting, unless there is a bus to take them to the suburb to commit their crime, they won't go.

Read more about Gannet's prank pseudo-journalism in Jeannie DeAngelis' American Thinker article.

Gannet changed the narrative.

Not to be outdone, IOTW reports that the names and addresses of the Gannet workers have now been published by NewRochelletalk.  They even share the Zillow address and photo of editor Jan Hasson's house!  Jan being the person who originally published the names and addresses of the gun owners.

No doubt Jan is upset about this.

And guess what?   The narrative changes again.

And now the BBC reports that doctors have called for the confiscation of kitchen knives.

The BBC changed the narrative.

Some old dried up hag in California has come out for handgun control today.  A sitting US senator and concealed-weapons permit holder, Diane Feinstein, insists all handguns be registered and all handgun owners be fingerprinted.  This is a desperate attempt to regain the narrative.

Historians, and members of the gun culture, will tell you that registration precedes confiscation.

She doesn't have the votes in the Senate.  She doesn't have the votes in Congress.  And she doesn't care about doing anything to stop the murder of American children.  Diane Feinstein is just a sad clown in this new change-the-narrative circus.

Diane Feinstein has failed to restore the narrative.

Had the members of America's gun culture been in charge of the narrative, we'd be in the solutions phase right now rather than in the circus/noise above.

Each and every special little child who had been butchered by that mad-man would be first and foremost in the discussion.  Their safety.  Their surroundings.  The adults who could have made a difference had CT been more honest about firearm statistics.  We'd be more honest about the 20-minute response rate of that town's police - brutally honest.  And there would be serious discussion on the handling of society's mentally ill.

Our narrative would expose the fact that there are adults everywhere who WILL take responsibility for the defense of innocents - even if it means losing their own life in the process.

Just give them a chance.

Meet the Gun Culture, YouTuber MrColionNoir:

This man speaks for me.

UPDATED 12.28 7am:

BFH at IOTW has suggested some more (6 total) map ideas for Gannet.  Why just map the gun owners when you can violate the privacy of so many more?

Here is one:

Parenting by the State

Comrade and hat owner, Captain Capitalism, touches on the economics of a working mother and shares his feelings about the modern-day parenting where the state raises the child so the mother can defy her biology of nurturing and instead seek a career.

Remember!  Liberals Progressives Communists want to replace God and the Parent with the State.  Just look at the UC Berkeley campus to see that God is gone, and the black family to see that the father is gone.

They cannot control your life until they've eliminated God, Parents, and the values that come with each.

Liberals are just one YouTube edit away from being discredited.

Let's take a gander at some Hollywood Libs who are really really concerned about gun violence, but not so concerned as to participate in the depiction of gun violence if it comes with a paycheck.

Gun Control is only about Control.

This will likely be taken down soon.  Enjoy while you can.

Christmas in Calgary

Author, blogger and comrade Davis M. J. Aurini sent us Christmas greetings from Calgary, which we now share with all of Ushanka's comrades.

He wears our Commie Obama hat to celebrate another Obama accomplishment:

Now Canadians have more capitalism than Americans.

That's right.  They are making fun of us!

Here he is explaining why being mean to Liberals Progressives Communists comes so natural for us:

May your Christmas be merry.

May you have a prosperous and peaceful 2013.

May you join us in defeating Communism wherever and whenever it rears its ugly head.

Another Gun Free Zone Shooting - BUMPED

[orig post 12.16.12 1:29pm]

We decided to wait a few days before posting on the Newtown school shooting.  This is a very emotional event, and many on the Left are already using it to restrict your rights.  For these reasons we took our time.

Comrades, thank you for waiting!

We've learned that the media will get most things wrong as they struggle to fit their liberal progressive communist narrative.  They are incapable of reporting objectively when scoring political points is possible, nor do they have any respect for people who are suffering.  So why do a post where we only regurgitate bad information?

Here is what we knew on Friday:

Many families lost children. (20)

Adults were slaughtered too. (7)

One or more guns were used.

Here is what we know now:

The suspect had a history of mental illness.

The guns he used belonged to someone else.

He was recently denied the purchase of a firearm.

The focus from here forward will be about gun ownership, not the victims. Not about the responsibility of gun owners to secure their firearms.  Not about a community detecting signs in their mentally ill in order to prevent these events.  Not about letting responsible adults carry firearms into schools.

This will not be the last school shooting.

The Debate:

We are going to sit-out the 'national discussion' that is coming.  It is the same after every gun free zone shooting, and nothing new will be said or discovered.  The discussion, for only those who are paying attention, will boil down to three words: Gun Free Zone.

The high body count suggests our politicians will pass some new law.  Maybe.  The motivation for one or more new laws will have absolutely no positive effect, but is instead the communist inspirations of disarming a population.  It isn't the current gaggle of politicians we should worry about.  It is the next group that govern the disarmed masses.

The Blame:

Moral Nihilism is the rejection of traditional family and religious values.  The Democrat Party is determined to replace both God and parent with government, and the Newtown school shooting is part of the script.

Dilute and destroy family values and religious values, and you get mass murder.  Destroy the two-parent family, and you will get mass murder.  Convince our young that evil does not exist, and you get mass murder.

Moral Nihilism is part of a plan.

The Laws:

SayUncle says some were broken:

A 20 year-old had a couple of handguns (illegal). And, depending on the press report, had an assault weapon (illegal), automatic rifle (illegal), or machine gun (illegal). Shot his mom in the face (illegal). Stole his mom’s vehicle (illegal). Transported the gun in the vehicle (illegal) within 1,000 feet of a school (illegal). Carried it onto school property (illegal). Broke and entered (illegal). Carried a gun in a school (illegal). Discharged a firearm (illegal). Shot at people (illegal). Killed some people (illegal). Killed himself (not sure if illegal).

The Second Amendment.  From Scumf**k in Babylon (read it all):

...the man that wants to disarm me, whether a random crazy hobo in the parking lot to the highest authority in the land, only wants to do so because he is going to do something to me that I could prevent by using a weapon. Whatever that agenda is that requires me to be helpless, it cannot be good.

Mental Illness:

We have no experience with this, nor any suggestions.

A FB Comrade shared this blog post from The Ananrchist Soccer Mom that is worth reading.

UPDATED 12.17 6pm:

Added image at top.  Parents will understand it.

UPDATED and BUMPED 12.21 Noon:

Our $0.02:

The gun control noise has been deafening, and we think we know why.  Despite a Republican majority in Congress, few have faith in the Republicans to represent their interests.  In other words, we do not have a defense against tyranny in Washington DC.

The Republicans abandoned any fiscal conservatism when they rushed to the fiscal-cliff negotiating table to remove the mortgage deduction from our tax laws.  We want a simple tax code like any conservative, but to abandon a law that encourages home ownership - a key American Dream item - is wrong.  To lead with it in negotiations is liberal.

The Republican Party is adrift.  Look at the last two presidential elections and tell me what we stand for.  Conservatism wasn't on the ballot in 2008 - politeness was.  Conservatism wasn't on the ballot in 2012 - competence was.

Unlike the Clinton gun ban, this is end game.  Two facts about any coming legislation: 1) it won't prevent a school shooting like the recent shooting in CT, and 2) it won't have an expiration date.

A poem read to Congress by Darrell Scott, father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine School Shooting.

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question "Why?"
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

No Hitler Video

Usually a Hitler video signals the death of a story or movement, but not this time.  The MSM has announced that there will be no gun control.

Byron York, Washington Examiner: Obama, Reid slam brakes on gun control.

With President Obama’s announcement of a commission to study and recommend ways to reduce gun violence, the two most important Democrats in government — Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid — have both indicated a desire to slow the momentum toward gun control in the wake of the Newtown, Connecticut school shootings. The president’s decision to appoint a blue-ribbon panel — the classic Washington ploy to defuse and delay consideration of an issue — along with Reid’s inaction on the gun question will undoubtedly frustrate many in their party who want immediate action.

3) Convey the message that currency is not the focus, but the purchasing power is,
4) Continue the Ushanka theme that Obama and the Democrats have Communist Inspirations.

We'll add items as they appear that support the assumptions and predictions in our article.

Bill Whittle with PJTV (U/T Trevor):

We started reading The Aftershock Investor yesterday.  It is a good compliment to the inflation resources above, and has a good section explaining deflation.

We are getting some criticisms in the comments and at FB.  Roughly all the same: Some rich do ok and some poor get punished.

Fully agree.  The article was written for 'the masses' in a sense, the middle class conservatives who frequent American Thinker.  It did not speak to all levels in society or address the exceptions.

The rich have ways to protect their wealth.  They are targeted as everyone else, but have the resources and guidance to move their wealth overseas or into protected assets.  George Soros will be ok.  (He did recently increase his gold holdings by 49%...)

Some people leaving comments are saying the poor do not get hurt.  We disagree.  Our argument is the poor are hurt not because of the inflation so much as that they are forgotten in the redistribution scheme (Step Two in the article).

One commentor argues that the poor are hurt the same.  Maybe.  But this is what we expect in a high-inflation environment:  The poor are unable to feed their families with their EBT allotment (imaging $20 loaf of bread, etc.).  The government opens soup kitchens and bread lines for the poor only.  The non-poor continue to pay high prices for their bread, and pay high taxes which pays for the soup kitchens and bread lines.  That is redistribution.

Thanks to everyone for comments and criticisms.  This is an important discussion, and I hope everyone is beginning to protect themselves from the coming inflation.

Big News from DPRK

An Ushanka Exclusive!  None of the leading tech blogs have picked up on the entrepreneurial accomplishments and innovation in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Below is 8 minutes of previously unseen video from deep inside North Korea's computer and tablet clone factory.  This video would represent a major breech of corporate security and likely a great loss of trade secrets anywhere else in the world.  But Supreme Leader Un is a man of the people, selflessly sharing the manufacturing secrets for all N. Korean exports including missiles, nuclear warheads, counterfeit currencies and now computers.

We'd expect our dear leader to validate these advances.  He'd say something like, "Communism is back from the brink," or "Communism has turned the corner," or "Supreme Leader Un has inherited a difficult situation."

We think we're looking at a new and improved North Korea here.  Don't you?  Just last week they celebrated Human Rights Day and launched a peaceful weather satelite into orbit.  Exactly what has the US done this past month??

Imagine North Korea's potential if they started to feed their people.

Quote of the Day

Quote found at WND via FB Comrade.  Images from our extensive image library.

One of the first acts of the new Bolshevik government was to nationalize health care – again, not out of altruistic concern for the masses of Russian peasants, but to centralize control over the population and over physicians, who tended to be free thinkers and well respected by the citizens.

Historically, however, in the absence of governmental collapse (e.g. war-torn Germany or the fall of the Soviet Union), there is no nation that has ever reverted from a nationalized, government-run health service back to a free market system. Once adopted, single payer, government health care becomes the sacred cow of a nation’s legislature. They may debate funding allocations, i.e. who gets what, they may complain about shortages, wait times and cost to the state, but they never mention turning back the clock and reverting to the traditional, patient-centered, free market medicine. Once it’s over … it’s over.

Elitism & Guns

We were waiting for the obligatory Hitler video re: the stupidity of Bob Costas.  A football player shoots his girlfriend and then shoots himself, and Bobby says people can't be trusted with firearms.

Well, YouTuber musician FXHummel1 responds.  Be sure to click over to his YouTube channel to hear more great tunes.

And hat owner and gun blogger Tam delivers with a good retort too.  Click over to read her full post.

This may come as a shock to you, Mr. Costas, but I have worn a loaded gun pretty much every day of my adult life. I spent pretty much every working day of that adult life in workplaces where everybody else was wearing loaded guns, too. There was nothing magic about these places or the people in them. They were typical workplaces with all the typical workplace politics and the drama that entails and yet... Magically! ...we all somehow constantly managed to refrain from shooting each other, despite literally bathing in the mind-control rays you think emanate from loaded handguns.

I do find the allegation that, in the absence of handguns, Kasandra would still be alive to be absolutely ludicrous, because everybody knows that without a handgun, there would be no way for an enraged 6'2", 228-lb. NFL linebacker to harm a 22-year-old woman.

From our comrade, Mr. B, who blogs at In the Middle of the Right:

Someday, it's gonna be the wrong dog owner and when the cop shoots the dog, he's gonna get shot himself.

The gun and badge only gets you so much respect, and that is a line that it is bad to cross with some people. I loved my late dog as I love the rest of my family. Were a cop to have shot her, I'd react exactly as if it were my parents or a brother.

Yeah, I'd be in jail and a cop would have bullet wounds, or be dead. Wouldn't help the dog, but I'd make damned sure that the cop didn't ever shoot a dog on duty again.

Darth Vader Gets 3%

One of the Paulbots on Facebook didn't get the memo.

He posted this image today, to the adulation of other Paulbots who didn't get the memo.

Here is a Republican candidate who couldn't attract more than 3% of the vote during the primary.   In primary terms, this is called "failure."  So we infer from the message in the image above that Ron Paul will return in 2016 and get over 3% of the vote.

Let us make a prediction: Ron Paul will still be blown out of the primary for his flaccid foreign policy views and value-less drug-legalization views.  Or maybe the electorate will just look at him and conclude he's better suited for a retirement home.

"End the Fed" is a great idea.  Let's find an activist conservative to run with it.  Someone who can win.

Monday Afternoon Cigar

Seventy degrees in December!  That calls for a Rocky Patel Edge (Blue Label) and another chapter in Bloodlands.

Today's chapter was about the Germans being pushed out of Warsaw.  Knowing they were going to lose the war, all order was thrown to the wind.  Rape and murder shifted into hyper-drive, and all Poles became the targets rather than just the Jews.  Thousands, who thought the end of the war meant an end to their suffering, were shot.  So many the Germans had to pause in their killing to wait for a re-supply of bullets.

Europeans had two choices in the first half of the last century: Fascism or Communism.  Anybody who thought liberty and capitalism were worthy options either cowered or were pushed out of the debate.  It is a great lesson on how evil people who want to control YOUR life frame the discussion to benefit their ascent, and how weak people who could influence the direction of their country shrink at the first sign of conflict.

Remember this comrades when you hear now that we have two options: mild socialism or full socialism.  That is the debate we having today.

Movie Recommendation

Comrade and hat owner Becca from Lower The Boom recommended the documentary Occupy Unmasked to us over a frosty frappuccino yesterday.

An excellent collection of Occupy civil unrest video combined with real investigative reporting by the late Andrew Breitbart and others. They confirm the significant behind-the-scenes planning and organization that made this movement possible.  They show the hard-core communists (aka community organizers) who lead and organize from the shadows, and the various groups of agitators and useful idiots who give the movement its numbers.

Some of the video is of the anarchists in their black outfits and covered faces.  It shows them doing violent things to windows of banks and other evil businesses.  This is some good, menacing video, but we'd make the following suggestions from our experience with these sub-creatures.

The anarchists are society's losers who come out of their moms' basements when summoned by their communist chiefs.  What is sometimes visible in the video is how much protection these worthless individuals had during their Occupy temper-tantrum.  Police and bank security were told to let these losers do their damage, and in effect escorted and protected the organized vandalism.  Had the Oakland Occupy march ventured onto a Korean grocer's property, assuming there are any Koreans who would still do business in that filthy city, the anarchists would have a different reputation today.

They only protest where they will be protected.

Communists are masters of propaganda because they never have much of a following.  Only 1200 dedicated Bolsheviks were necessary to seize control of Russia in 1917.  It isn't about numbers, it is about chaos as a means.

A Sickle Story

A Sickle Story, P173-174
Bloodlands, by Timothy Snyder, 2010, 417 pages.

If the Germans were unable to take a Soviet city in their WWII offensive against the Soviet Union, Operation Barbarossa, they laid siege to the cities instead.

The Germans were never able to execute their "Hunger Plan" whereby they'd starve the conquered Soviet citizens by the millions.

Yet starvation was a major reason for death among the innocents caught in their Eastern front.

Many innocents caught in-between the Germans and Soviets starved to death in these sieges, and the author explains that cannibalism was common.

He [Hitler] wanted to remove it [Leningrad] from the face of the earth.

Hitler wanted the population of Leningrad exterminated, the city razed to the ground, and then its territory handed over to the Finns.

Within the great city [Leningrad] Russians (and others) faced the same dilemmas that Ukrainians and Kazakhs (and others) had faced ten years before, during the collectivization famines.

Wanda Zvierieva, a girl in Leningrad during the siege, later remembered her mother with great love and admiration.

She "was a beautiful woman.  I would compare her face to the Mona Lisa."

Her father was a physicist with artistic inclinations who would carve wooden sculptures of Greek goddesses with his pocketknife.

Late in 1941, as the family was starving, her father went to his office, in the hope of finding a ration card that would allow the family to procure food.  He stayed away for several days.

One night Wanda awakened to see her mother standing over her with a sickle.  She struggled with and overcame her mother, or "the shadow that was left of her."

She gave her mother's actions the charitable interpretation: that her mother wished to spare her the suffering of starvation by killing her quickly.

Her father returned with food the following day, but is was too late for her mother, who died a few hours later.

The family sewed her in blankets and left her in the kitchen until the ground was soft enough to bury her.  It was so cold in the apartment that her body did not decompose.

That spring Wanda's father died of pneumonia.

The Media's Treatment of Israel

Just one of many images that mock our media:

Kudos to Israel for taking on the terrorists who attack the innocents and ignoring the media elite who support them.

Food Protectionism

The battle around food does not just cover Obama's desire to control distribution as his forefathers Lenin, Stalin and Mao did.

The Institute for Justice has produced this excellent video explaining the protectionist efforts of food vendors to eliminate the innovators in their area.

In Obama's America, it is who you know.  Not the value you add, nor the services you can deliver faster or better.

A similar battle is being fought against Uber, the mobile app company who have made it easy to get a town car or limo in large cities.  Just enter your location and where you want to go, and the limo companies can give you an offer on the spot.  Innovative, or an assault on those poor cab companies?

The Twinkie Defeat UPDATED and BUMPED

[orig post 11.16 8am]

Unions destroy everything they touch.  But usually not so spectacularly.

Hostess Brands, makers of Twinkies, Ding Dongs and other key nutritional foods are liquidating after The Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union (BCTGM) insisted on an 8% raise for their workers after Hostess's 2nd bankrupcy filing in 8 years.

Hostess was not too big to fail.

What BCTGM has produced is a lesson that there are two sides to a union negotiation.  And both sides can can go on strike.

18,000 Hostess workers joined BCTGM.  18,000 workers supported BCTGM.  18,000 workers are now out of a job.

Worse for them: They are in Kansas.  A state that has pounded state-level Democrat politicians into dust.

Video from three days ago.  One striker: "As long as it takes!"  Apparently it took 3 more days.

The workers of the world united at Hostess.  Oh well.  Just another 18,000 out of work in Obama's America.  Lucky for them we are "back from the brink."

As ZeroHedge notes (with our corrections):

Twinkies may well survive the nuclear apocalypse, but there was one weakest link: the company making them was unable to survive empowered labor unions who thought they had all the negotiating leverage...  until they led their bankrupt employer right off the liquidation cliff.

Second image comes from BCTGM's site.

UPDATED 11:30am:

We are back from our trip to Walmart with good news Comrades!

Walmart sells their own Twinkie brand!

So the result of the union's decision to strike themselves out of a job means we will now be forced to pay over a dollar less for the Walmart Twinkies made by non-union labor and sold at a non-union store where most of these 18,000 out-of-work union members likely shop.

Full Disclosure:  We bought that box of Hostess Twinkies.  You have permission to yell "Hypocrite."

UPDATED and BUMPED 11.17.12:

Wonka's Chocolate Factory was a non-union shop.  When did you ever see an ompaloopa go on break?

And the news has spread to April 1944 Germany:
