Obama Agenda vs. Marx

Doug Ross compares Obama's Agenda to the Marxism Ten.

Here are the first two:

According to Karl Marx, the following ten elements were requisite conditions for "a transition from capitalism to communism."

1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes. Washington Examiner: The great Obama land grab: "White House officials have been meeting quietly with environmental groups to map out government plans for acquiring untold millions of acres of both public and private land... The federal government, as the memo boasted, is the nation's 'largest land manager.' It already owns roughly one of every three acres in the United States... This is apparently not enough."

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax. National Taxpayer Union: The top 1% of taxpayers already pay 40% of all income taxes. The top 5% pay 61% of all income taxes. And the top 25% pay 87%. The bottom 50% pay 3% of all income taxes. And Democrats want more from entrepreneurs: "Democrats seek a new 'Millionaire's Tax'."

It is easier to read these ten if you wear our Commie Obama hat!

Occupy LA - Evicted UPDATED

These people say Israel is occupying Palestine, and that Israel is wrong.  But they occupy public spaces all over the country, and that is ok.

Have you heard any Palestinians complain about the body odor of their occupiers?

These people are upset about Europeans displacing Native Americans hundreds of years ago, but the Native Americans sold their land for a few bottles of fine whiskey.  It was a consensual transaction that both parties now regret.

Seen anybody offer good Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey for trade recently?  No you haven't!  You can have our bottle of Knob Creek 9 Year when you pry it from our cold dead fingers.

Or when we're finished with it.

We clicked through the LA Times photos of the Occupy LA eviction from last night.  It appears Susan Sarandon made it to the rally but didn't put on her makeup.

Why scream into a bull horn?  Really.

Defense Spending

John Bolton ignores multiple interruptions from a poorly prepared interviewer to speak for us on the coming cuts in defense and the growing threats from Russia and China.

Found at The Right Scoop via IOTW:

Amb. Bolton suggests a coming confrontation from China, but we've already passed that and he knows it.

About 2 years ago a Chinese attack sub surfaced within our carrier group. That means it got past our subs, our anti-sub systems and right up next to our aircraft carrier. That is the definition of confrontation.

And just this past week President Medvedev of Russia said any new missile defense systems in Europe would be targeted by Russia. GeorgianDaily article by Alan Cullison, who've we've quoted from the WSJ in past, posts:

Russia revived threats to deploy ballistic missiles on the borders of the European Union on Wednesday, if the U.S. proceeds with plans to build an anti-missile system there.

The announcement by President Dmitry Medvedev on state-run television highlights growing tensions between Moscow and Washington, which has been struggling to defend the benefits of a so-called reset in relations with Russia.

Here is our suggested 'reset' for Russia - cut all ties, deploy missile defenses wherever it benefits our defense and the defense of our friends, and say in no uncertain terms, "Try to drive another APC into Georgia or any other border country and watch the sky go dark with A-10s."

Full Disclosure: Amb. Bolton owns our hat.

Two Armed Robberies

A rare Gun Rights and Ushanka Babe combo-post!

Two armed robberies. Suspects escaped in both robberies. Similarities end there.

In Massachusetts, a state known for its strict policies against armed citizens, a robbery at a convenience store last week.

Yes, that is the 3 year-old daughter of the store clerk in the video.

In Texas, a state known for its 'liberal' concealed carry policies, a robbery at a Denny's. Via Glenn, the story at Click2Houston.

Officials said two armed suspects wearing bandannas entered and attempted to rob the store. The sole customer in the restaurant, a licensed concealed handgun carrier, observed the suspects enter, pulled out his own gun, took cover and fired at the robbers.

To quote ourself from a July 2008 post:

Krauthammer on Taxes

Found at NiceDeb:

The IRS is the most intrusive violator of civil liberties in the United States, and that is a direct result of the amendment [16th] that you [Carville] worship.

Our desire: replace all federal taxes, including gas, tariffs, etc., with a single consumption tax on ALL items.

No tax discounts for poor or for green this or that.

For those with envy in their heart, they'll see the new Porsche on the street and feel happy that the driver paid $20k or more in taxes when he bought that car.

For illegal aliens and tourists, welcome to America.

Everyone shares in America, and future candidates are judged on how their policies will impact the national tax rate.

That'll never happen.

The OWS Mask

BigFurHat at IOTW linked over to a blog we've never seen: Looking at the Left. This guy is a photographer much like Zombie and has some excellent work on the recent rape lice Occupy gatherings.

We can claim ignorance on the OWS mask, and just about anything else, as we cancelled cable a few months ago and cut off all the filth.

Here is one of his pictures, and his explanation of the mask's origins. Definitely a smart guy!

...a Guy Fawkes mask, named for a member of a 1605 plot to blow up the British House of Lords. The mask was designed for a comic book, V for Vendetta, which was made into a movie of the same name in 2006, and is popular with angry adolescent males. The movie’s hero never removes his mask as he kills policemen by the score, and detonates landmark buildings in a dystopian London of the future. Anonymous, Wikileaks, and anarchists around the world have adopted this mask as a symbol. Julian Assange, of Wikileaks, wore one of these masks at Occupy London Stock Exchange recently.

We just didn't know.

It isn't like the cool hat some Tea Partiers are wearing. Everyone knows about that!

The Hat Remains

English Russia has a set of photos from a Russian Army training event in Tambov.

Tambov province is about 200 miles South East of Moscow. It is the site of one of the largest, if not the largest, peasant revolts in human history.

Men with the same style hats descended on Tambov in 1918 & 1919 to confiscate the peasant harvests. They returned in 1920 but Aleksandr Stepanovich Antonov was there to meet them. These ushanka-wearing communists were slaughtered in raids, ambushes and in battle with a peasant army that was likely 22k in strength, but estimates go as high as 50k.

The timeline is interesting: shortly after the new leadership in the nation's capitol, the people realized they had been fooled with empty promises of "change" and "hope" and equal ownership of property. Their lot had been steadily improving over the past 20 years under Tsar rule and they expected this improvement to continue. Forced food requisitions proved the good times were over. There were peaceful protests, sorta like tea parties. And then there was Aleksandr Stepanovich Antonov, who saw the communists for who they were and prepared. He hid arms throughout the province, led three regiments of peasant soldiers, and nearly broke Lenin's grasp on power.

A good thing this would never happen here. Right?

Breaking: Ann Retires UPDATED

Ann Barnhardt announces today:

Dear Clients, Industry Colleagues and Friends of Barnhardt Capital Management,

It is with regret and unflinching moral certainty that I announce that Barnhardt Capital Management has ceased operations.
---
I will not, under any circumstance, consider reforming and re-opening Barnhardt Capital Management, or any other iteration of a brokerage business, until Barack Obama has been removed from office AND the government of the United States has been sufficiently reformed and repopulated so as to engender my total and complete confidence in the government, its adherence to and enforcement of the rule of law, and in its competent and just regulatory oversight of any commodities markets that may reform. So long as the government remains criminal, it would serve no purpose whatsoever to attempt to rebuild the futures industry or my firm, because in a lawless environment, the same thievery and fraud would simply happen again, and the criminals would go unpunished, sheltered by the criminal oligarchy.

Ann is a leader and harbinger in business and politics, and today's retirement should send a very clear message.

We worry about Ann. Her recent pledge to not pay taxes, combined with today's retirement, suggest tough times ahead for her.

No doubt she can handle new challenges, but others now depend on her for guidance. Whether she wants it or not, she holds an informal leadership position among us militant conservatives.

If one is looking for yet another reason to vote for a conservative next year, here it is. We want to see Ann go back to her commodities trading. Ann in the game means safe trading and the rule of law restored.

UPDATED 5pm

Ann once pointed to Market-Ticker, which we go to from time to time to get another perspective of economic issues.

Karl Denninger comments on Ann's retirement and adds a South Park clip for good measure:

Nothing that has come out of the CME, the SEC or Washington DC that has restored my confidence that MF Global is, in fact, a one-off situation. In point of fact The Fed is now requiring margin on certain repo transactions where they never did before, implying that there may well be additional snakes in the grass and additional unrecognized and intentionally hidden risks of this sort.

Read Ann's entire missive. Yes, it's highly partisan, but given what has just happened and Obama's continued insistence that "no crimes were committed" (yet no grand juries have been convened to investigate, so how would he know?) it is entirely justified.

Monday Afternoon Cigar

Obama called us Lazy this week. He's never smoked a CAO Brazilia. This cigar requires determination, attention and effort.

Some links on our Dear Leader's recent quote:

Krauthammer's retort

No one is asking him to go out there and to be a jingoistic cheerleader. But when you call your own country ‘lazy’ when you are abroad and call it ‘unambitious and soft’ when you are home, I think what you are showing is not tough love, but ill-conceived, ill-concealed contempt.

And Ric's Rulez:

What this is, is the opening shots in the inevitable decay of a Socialist economy. When productivity starts dropping and there are fewer resources available for redistribution, the leadership notes that the people aren’t working as hard as they used to. The obvious conclusion is that the people have gotten lazy, and the nomenklatura then start on a campaign to get people to work harder and more effectively. Look up some political posters from the USSR of the Twenties and Thirties for examples.

The actual term used by Lenin, Stalin, etal was "Wreckers". Wreckers are those who are holding the country back from its inevitable success. Wreckers can be workers who sabotage their work, workers with too much sick time, or workers who think about doing a bad job. It is that last category which is the catch-all.

Give our Dear Leader full, unchecked authority and he will elaborate in these terms and you'll enjoy a short train ride to the camp.

Or... wait for him to admit that his policies and communist inspirations have led us to this malaise.

Ahh, Berkeley

Nice to see the police draw the line on just how much trespassing, property damage and public urination is allowed. A few weeks late, but the rule of law finally prevails.

It appears by the comments at the video that most are sympathetic to the protesters. That makes sense - everyone else is working right now.

Another reason for all the F**K THE POLICE comments has to do with ignorance. This video is cleverly spliced to only show the police actions, but not the illegal behavior of the protesters nor the warnings by the police. None of these officers will be disciplined because the police version of the video will show warning after warning after warning.

Here is our exchange with someone who is all hopped up after one of Mom's ham sandwiches:

He skipped the racism charge to go straight to the death threat. Well if he weren't a liberal, we'd take him seriously.

Remember these same police using restraint when the great unwashed occupied a bunch of Berkeley trees? Here is an old post by Zombie with pictures from 2008.

Unexpected

More unexpected news today from The Miami Herald:

President Hugo Chávez’s cancer is spreading faster than expected and his doctors fear that he may have only a few months left to live, a former U.S. government official said Wednesday, citing sources inside the Venezuelan government.

It is nice to get some good news every once in a while.

Did you know there are food lines in Venezuela now, and stores are rationing their sales?

Such a shame that the news coverage today and going forward will be about Chavez and his cancer rather than the suffering of the Venezuela people. It is as if the liberals progressives communists in our media do not want us to know about the failures of Socialism.

What other reason would they have for not telling us of a nation which has the wealth and means to feed its people is failing to do just that?

Moral Outrage - A Comparison

As we've often repeated, communism only succeeds when traditional family values and religious values are diluted within the target society.

The term is Moral Nihilism.

This week's child rape scandal at Penn State gives us a great opportunity to gauge the health of our nation's moral compass. Let's look at three sources of response to the scandal.

First, Ann Barnhardt: ON SANDUSKY AND THIS NATION OF COWARDS:

I read the grand jury report on Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky and couldn't believe what I was reading. I'm not going to link to it because it is awful. If you want to read it you can find it yourself. It wasn't the fact that Sandusky was a pedophile that was so shocking. We all know about the horror of pedophilia and that it exists in the world. No, what really shook me were the actions of the people around Sandusky - and two of those people in particular.

One was a 28 year old (at the time) graduate assistant in the Penn State football program. He testified before the grand jury, and the grand jury found him to be "extremely credible". This grad assistant testified that he literally walked in on Sandusky anally raping a ten year old boy in the Penn State football locker room showers. Right in the middle of the act itself. He even testified that both Sandusky and the child turned and looked at him - in the middle of the rape act.

What did this grad assistant do? He ran away. He ran away from a child in the midst of being raped. The next day he went to Joe Paterno's house and told Joe Paterno what he saw.
In this we have the proof that Joe Paterno KNEW what Sandusky was, and he basically let it slide. For this, Joe Paterno deserves not only to lose his job, but he also deserves to spend some time in prison. Aw, but he's a kind old man. That may be. But that "kind old man" let a man whom he KNEW to be a child rapist have the run of his football facility until JUST LAST WEEK.

And today's WSJ editorial: The Paterno Question - A tragedy in more ways than one

"This is a tragedy. It is one of the great sorrows of my life. With the benefit of hindsight, I wish I had done more," Mr. Paterno said in a statement Wednesday announcing that he'd step down at the end of the season, at age 84. The university trustees fired him instead Wednesday night, effective immediately.

Mr. Paterno's statement refers to his decision to inform a university official, and not the police, that a graduate assistant had told him in 2002 about witnessing former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky with a young boy in the showers. It isn't clear from conflicting reports whether that graduate assistant told Mr. Paterno the ugly details of the sexual assault that is described in the grand jury report.

But this is at best ameliorating, not exculpatory. As everyone has noted and Mr. Paterno himself now seems to accept, the coach fulfilled his legal obligation, but not his moral duty, to look after the well-being of that child and others who may have been victimized later. He is now paying for that lapse in judgment with a tarnished end to a long and distinguished career.

And the Penn State student body, as reported by the NYT: Penn State Students Clash With Police in Unrest After Announcement

After top Penn State officials announced that they had fired Joe Paterno on Wednesday night, thousands of students stormed the downtown area to display their anger and frustration, chanting the former coach’s name, tearing down light poles and overturning a television news van parked along College Avenue.

The demonstrators congregated outside Penn State’s administration building before stampeding into the tight grid of downtown streets. They turned their ire on a news van, a symbolic gesture that expressed a view held by many that the news media exaggerated Mr. Paterno’s role in the scandal surrounding accusations that a former assistant coach, Jerry Sandusky, sexually assaulted young boys.

“I think the point people are trying to make is the media is responsible for Joe Pa going down,” said a freshman, Mike Clark, 18, adding that he believed that Mr. Paterno had met his legal and moral responsibilities by telling university authorities about an accusation that Mr. Sandusky assaulted a boy in a university shower in 2002.

Demonstrators tore down two lamp posts, one falling into a crowd. They also threw rocks and fireworks at the police, who responded with pepper spray. The crowd undulated like an accordion, with the students crowding the police and the officers pushing them back.

“We got rowdy, and we got maced,” Jeff Heim, 19, said rubbing his red, teary eyes. “But make no mistake, the board started this riot by firing our coach. They tarnished a legend.

Granted, these comparisons are not fair. Ann speaks for herself. She is an individual. The editorial board at the WSJ is a group who write with no personal attribution. They publish as a group, and there may be members of the board who think a higher level of outrage is warranted. Third, the Penn State students are many, and only a fraction of them protested the coach's firing.

But the message is clear from everyone other than Ann: knowing about child rape and doing nothing does not qualify for mass moral outrage. The moral impulse, even when children are being raped, is to dilute.

So what qualifies today for moral outrage?

Is there some crime we can all agree deserves absolute justice? The 300k condemned to death in North Korean concentration camps perhaps? Muslim genital mutilation at 90% within muslim countries? Muslim honor killings? Herman Cain telling a co-worker she is the same height as his wife??

We'll close with another Ann quote:

This is a sick and yet pristine allegory for what is happening to this culture on a macro scale today. We SEE what those "in power", like Sandusky, are doing. We keep catching them in flagrante dilecto and are so overcome with fear, so far removed from Christ and His strength, that we do NOTHING. We slink away into the shadows of self-preservation. And more children are slaughtered. And more Mexican civilians are killed. And more money is stolen. And more mosques are built.

And so, to finish out the allegory, I am the janitor who came around that corner and saw the child being raped, and instead of running away and keeping my job, I bayonet-charged the rapist like a mercenary honey badger.

Another Ushanka Tip to Ann.
No Ushanka Tip to the WSJ or to the Penn State students.

UPDATE 2:45pm

Bob hits a 10 on the moral outrage meter.

Ushanka tip to Bob.

Now that is a total of two Ushanka Tips on this subject. Roughly 300 million to go before we feel better about this country's future...

The Oath

Wild Bill mentions commies, their tactics and their goals.

U/T: Wild Bill

The Food Threat

It won't be a mass confiscation like 1919. It'll be a trickle effect started with the words, "I'm from the government and I'm hear to help."

That is what happened to Laura Bledsoe a couple weeks ago in Nevada.

Laura, a farmer, cooked a Farm-to-Fork meal for a group of people.

Their friendly neighborhood commie food inspector showed up at the same time as the guests.

The commie didn't like the food preparation and ordered the food destroyed.

Before realizing the commie was exercising authority she did not have, Laura complied. Then Laura remembered she was a member of the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund. She called, and the course of events made a 180 degree turn for the better.

As hard and demanding as this work is, I KNOW that this is what we are meant to do.

I KNOW that it is imperative that we stand up for our food choices.

I KNOW that local, organic, sustainable food produced by ourselves or by small family, local farms is indispensible to the health and well-being of our families and our communities now and in the future! If this work were not so vitally important, the “evil forces” would not be working so hard to pull it down.

We were victorious, we will be victorious, we must be! Our grandchildren’s future is at stake!

This is a good reminder of how liberals progressives communists think of themselves and of you.

When the Middle Class Give Up

I found this blog post through Instapundit: Gonzalo Lira - The Coming Middle-Class Anarchy. A year old, it is an excellent read.

It is a story about a real couple. They are retired, and underwater on their home. It is a story about people who play by the rules and in the end suspect they are suckers for doing so. While it isn't mentioned, we also see the hidden, but highly enthusiastic, Obama redistribution effort in play.

The couple considers to stop paying their mortgage:

But Ilsa is quietly, constantly insisting that they stop paying the mortgage altogether: “Everybody else is doing it—so why shouldn’t we?”
---
What’s really important is that law-abiding middle-class citizens are deciding that playing by the rules is nothing but a sucker’s game.

What if America's 53% who pay into our system decide to stop?

This story pairs will with the MF Global story (See our posts below - here and here). Here is outright theft of government-regulated investment accounts to the tune of $700m-$1.5b by a firm that had recently passed the most strict government review.

The risk of MF Global's demise on the US economy is nil. But the trust in our government to protect investors from being robbed is in question.

What if the account holders chose to pull their money out rather than risk it being stolen? What if good people stop paying their mortgages? Answer from the blog post:

When the backbone of a country starts thinking that laws and rules are not worth following, it’s just a hop, skip and a jump to anarchy.

Appeasement

Giving into liberals' progressives' communists' [aka evil's] demands never works.

The 99%

Dialogue from a forum that we frequent:

Forum Title: Should I accept a Section 8 applicant for my rental?

OP: Just had a call on my house rental. I've never done section 8. I've heard good and bad concerning it. The rental on the place is $1250 and this lady is qualified for $1115 and says she can pay the balance herself. Apparently my rent money $1115 will come directly from the .gov. Seems like a good way to get my rent paid on time. I'm not sure how it all works. Apparently I have to pass another inspection for Sec. 8. I've already passed the regular city inpsections.

It's a nice house. I was surprised that sec. 8 would pay this much a month for a house. I thought it would be for folks looking for more inexpensive places.

I've heard the tennants can be trouble with sec. 8 and I've heard they can be really good because they really don't want to lose their sec. 8 housing and they get kicked out of the program if they mess up.

Anyone have experience?

---

Respondent: A business partner and I rent section 8 housing and in our 100% experience they will totally wreck the house and steal everything they can....they would take the drywall if they could and they would take the dirt from the garden if possible. Make sure your property has nothing in it that is worth anything and that its a brick house. Make sure the windows are cemented in.

Im sorry for these people but its just a business to me. The fact that I came to this country as a poor ( legal ) immigrant with less than $30 in my pocket does not endear me any the more to the entitlement poor here.

The 99% may be Occupying parks across the country talking about how horrible the 1% is.

Just remember, the 1% (actually the 53% who pay taxes in this country) are talking as well.

Technology

The left thinks they have technology in their corner. They revel at the ability to hack into Sarah Palin's personal email account to find out she is pretty much the same in private as she is in public.

As usual, liberals progressives communists are wrong.

Don Surber, referencing this Daily Caller article, shows us the latest technology coup in support of extreme right wing politics.

They first get the names of the Occupy protesters. (This is easy - all you do is wait for them to get arrested, then their names are public record).

Then they look them up.

Then they map their addresses and pull the Google Street view. This Dallas home belongs to one of the unfortunate occupiers who spent some time in jail.

Then they pull the property values of those locations.

Then they compare. The results:

Far from being poor or middle class, the arrested occupiers appear to be the children of privilege.

From the Daily Caller: “Among addresses for which information is available, single-family homes listed on those police intake forms have a median value of $305,000 — a far higher number than the $185,400 median value of owner-occupied housing units in the United States…

WeaselZippers posted this video of Colbert getting to the bottom of the Occupy movement by sneaking in as Che!

Liberals lie, cheat, steal, agitate, and tolerate others who do as well. Technology gives us the tools to catch the lies and other falsehoods and share with others. We anticipate YouTube being a powerful influence in next year's election.

Condi Rice, who we have tremendous respect for, is quoted as suggesting Herman Cain should not use the race card. She is mistaken. The race card was played by the left and Cain must respond.

This is a pseudo-lynching of a black man. Accusations with no details, no accuser(s), no substance. A media outlet that says they feel it is wrong to share details - how suspicious is that?

He is being targeted because he is black, successful, conservative, commanding, and.... happy. But mostly because he's black.

Strike! UPDATEDx2

Workers of the World, Unite!

Today all of Oakland will come together in solidarity to protest big ______ who are exploiting the people by ______ and ______ and ____.

From OccupyOakland's Website:

Occupy Oakland is calling for no work and no school on November 2 as part of the general strike. We are asking that all workers go on strike, call in sick, take a vacation day or simply walk off the job with their co-workers. We are also asking that all students walk out of school and join workers and community members in downtown Oakland. All banks and large corporations must close down for the day or demonstrators will march on them.

The Occupy Oakland Strike Assembly has vowed to picket and or occupy any business or school which disciplines employees or students in any way for participating in the Nov 2 General Strike.
---
Be Prepared

Bring materials to make signs: Banner material. cardboard, poster paper, markers, paint, spray paint tape, dowels, etc
Bring food and water to share!
Bring noise makers, instruments, sound systems and other ways that we can transform downtown into a celebration of our collective power
Write this legal number down on your body in case of arrest: 415.285.1011 The number will be staffed al day long and will coordinate legal support for those arrested in the strike.

Remember these four common points that the General Strike Assembly has agreed upon:

Solidarity with the world-wide Occupy movement!
End police attacks on our communities!
Defend Oakland schools and libraries!
Against an economic system built on colonialism, inequality and corporate power that perpetuates all forms of oppression and the destruction of the environment!

A Few Chants For the Strike

“Strike, Occupy, Shut it Down! Oakland is the People’s Town”
“Every Hour, Every Day! The occupation is here to stay!”
“Occupy Everything! Liberate Oakland”
“Politicians & Bankers, Liars & Thieves, We’re taking it back! We’re not saying please!”
“No more cops, we don’t need ‘em! All we want is total freedom”
“Shut Down OPD! Not the Public Library!”
“Let’s Go Oakland! Let’s Go!” [clap] [clap]

SEE YOU IN THE STREETS! MAKE OAKLAND PROUD!

So a proud Oakland is a police-less, bank-less, politician-less commune (ity)?

There better be a lot of YouTube videos tomorrow of Oakland PD pepper spray. We need our hippie-macing fix!

Images: 2 are from OccupyOakland's site. You guess which ones.

UPDATE 4pm

Weasel Zippers just posted this picture from Oakland.

Was Mom washing the Che shirt today?

UPDATE 11.3 10am

We asked for mace and we got it! Interestingly, the WSJ today speaks of a lower turnout, a strike fizzle, and a relatively peaceful protest. Things must have started after they went to print. Either that, or a few defaced banks, store windows kicked in and other malfeasance doesn't qualify as news.

Michelle Malkin has two posts with plenty of photos - from yesterday at 6:22pm, and today at 2:19am. Here is the picture that caught our eye:

The Commie Hunt

English Russia has some pictures of commie leaders hunting. Here are a two with faces you may recognize:

These pictures bring back memories of recent US Presidential campaigns. You know, where the Democrats do everything they can to look like conservatives so they have a prayer of winning.

Pretty soon our Dear Leader will be telling us about all the tax cuts, jobs saved, and terrorists killed.

It'll be desperate.

It will be shameful.

It will be embarrassing to those of us who pay attention and know what these liberals progressives communists are all about.

For these reasons we say:

Mr. Dear Leader, we knew Dick Cheney. You are no Dick Cheney.

Some people were born to hold a rifle. For all others, there is the Democrat Party.

MF Global UPDATEDx3

The collapse of MF Global was seen days ago by the ever vigilant Ann Barnhardt as we show in our first report in the post below.

Last night Ann reported that customer money was missing. Today's news reports the missing funds is in the range of $700-$900 million.

No, our Dear Leader has not yet come out and announced a bailout for MF Global customers. But it's early.

Karl at Market-Ticker screams "STOP THE LOOTING AND START PROSECUTING!" in his post today, Can You Survive It Being Over?

The obvious questions that this little "incident" raises are too many to count but at their core go straight to the credibility of our entire financial system. None of them are pretty.

Here is how one MSM outlet is re-phrasing the concept of theft:

The discovery that money could not be located might simply reflect sloppy internal controls at MF Global. It is still unclear where the money went. At first, as much as $950 million was believed to be missing, but as the firm sorted through its bankruptcy, that figure fell to less than $700 million by late Monday, the people briefed on the matter said. Additional funds are expected to trickle in over the coming days.

But the investigation, which is in its earliest stages, may uncover something more intentional and troubling.

Shameful.

Nobody can call a former Democrat governor a thief?

Since the missing customer funds are less than one billion dollars, this is just a series of clerical errors?

Since some funds will "trickle in over the coming days" it is too soon to say MF Global, and specifically Jon Corzine, stole money from their customers and evaded regulations that we were told would eliminate this form of theft?

We think these executives, and their defenders in the media, would be in harms way if the public were to realize this bankruptcy's contribution to the deterioration of trust in America's banks and government oversight capabilities, and thus the end of America's economic stability.

We'll add updates here when they are warranted.

UPDATED 10pm

A little over 24 hours after the news broke of MF Global's demise - and about a fortnight since Ann Barnhardt broke the story - the FBI is now investigating the use of client funds.

You know, the funds Democrat Corzine was not supposed to use in his investments.

And by "not supposed" we mean the law prohibited him from touching these funds.

And by "touching" we are referring to the missing $700 million.

AP story posted at Daily Finance - FBI to probe MF Global's use of Client Money

Some have asked, "what happens if those with accounts at similar agencies with similar 'stringent' government oversight decide to pull their funds due to a lack of trust? Some have answered too.

UPDATED 11.3 10:10am

This morning's WSJ said the missing funds are about $600 million. Ann's posts from late last night suggest it is closer to $1.5 billion. Anybody want to guess who is closer: the massive Wall Street Journal with all its resources sitting in the heart of the US economy, or little ol Ann out there in Colorado somewhere?

Ann explains that this money is gone. There is no authority to turn to for help, nor is there any entity capable of deterring other firms from doing the same to their customers. Ann explains it has to do with the rule of law and the fact that the United States no longer respects the rule of law.

She has two posts with the title WROL (without the rule of law). Key quotes:

There WAS a law. There WAS a very, very strict law. WAS. Past tense. What we are seeing right now is what every single culture that has been conquered by Marxists has experienced: the elimination of the Rule of Law. This nation is no longer a nation of laws. It is a nation of men. The law no longer matters. All that matters is who you are and who you know. Jon Corzine is part of the Marxist-Obamaist cabal, and therefore laws do not apply to him.

Further, the government that you, up until now, have turned to in order to enforce the Rule of Law is now itself the entity that is stealing from you. In other words, there is absolutely NO ONE to turn to for law enforcement because the is no Rule of Law.
---
If you haven't purchased long guns and ammunition, freeze dried food, water and fuel, you better be getting about that with a quickness.

There you have it.

MF Global has generated a lot of news, it is the news we haven't heard. To divert/steal $600mm-$1.5b takes more than a former Democrat governor from New Jersey.

Oh to be a fly on the wall of the attorney's offices where MF Global's former executives are fleeing to tell their stories and draft their requests for immunity.

UPDATED 11.4 2:40pm

Democrat Jon Corzine has resigned and walked away from MF Global and his $12.1m golden parachute.

Doug writing at Michelle Malkin's site:

The New York Times reports that Corzine has hired a white-collar criminal defense attorney — standard operating procedure if you were the head of a securities company that misplaced a few hundred million dollars and diverted client money.
