Sabbatical Continued

Greetings comrades! It has been four years!

I have, I am, and I will remain on sabbatical. But lets call it what it is: retirement. I have plenty to say, but we know those days are over. You have plenty to say too, but comments are off for the same reason. We've all had way too much to think, and this is the new United States. Or as the other Karl would call it: The Dictatorship of the Proletariat.

Were those four years of Trump amazing or what!? The man set a new standard for honor, integrity, fighting for and getting results. I was, as you were, hoping for just four more years of peace and prosperity before the nation was crushed under the weight of envy, resentment and the pursuit of free stuff, but alas, it wasn't to be.

Don't fall for the noise that says Trump failed, or Pence for that matter. Don't let them cloud the issues,  minimize our great men or values. They want us fighting each other for breadcrumbs. The law failed us - at the state level with the election, and our supreme court when it ignored the evidence brought to it by 14 states. That third branch of government is no more. It is dead to me, and to you. The commies can stack the court or disband it - makes no difference. And having lost that third branch, our Constitutional Republic is now... something else.

Trump promised to drain the swamp, but the swamp could not be drained. If a powerfully moral and driven man like Trump couldn't do it, nobody will. Which means, if the swamp ever does get drained, it will be after a bottom-up process rather than from the top-down. My sincere thanks to President Trump for trying the less-messy of the two options. Only a principled and bold man would have even tried.

President Trump flew too close to the swamp and it grabbed him and pulled him in. But, along the way, from day #1, he grabbed its pussy. The swamp used to live in the shadows. Now 75 million Americans are aware of it. And, they are really pissed off about their votes being stolen. How will that anger express itself in the coming months and years? It should be interesting.

Predictions:

Trump accomplishments that Biden* will fail to continue:

  1. Peace. Trump's economic warfare was a paradigm shift that delivered results but not bombs. China was on its knees, Iran and North Korea were all but silent, and a few countries now recognize Israel. Biden*, et al, are incapable of imitating that brilliant statesmanship and will start dropping bombs in 3, 2, 1...
  2. Prosperity. Where Trump gave us record growth, Biden* will give us focus-group-tested excuses and tell us a return to prosperity is 'just around the corner.'  How do I know this? Because this is what every commie dictator does. If you're not prepared for bad times, you're behind the curve.

Trump failures that Biden* will continue:

  1. Fiscal policy. Trump continued Obama's government spending habits, and Biden* will continue expanding the debt ad infinitum. What will it look like when they've gone too far? Are you ready? Biden's spending priorities will be to bail out California, Illinois and other failed states, and to prop up union pension funds. You're golden if you fall into one or both of those categories. If not, you're on your own kulak.
  2. AGs. As much as Trump was for the rule of law, he was incapable of hiring competent attorney generals. America will continue to suffer from failed AGs, albeit on purpose under Biden*.

Other predictions:

  1. Coup #2. Biden* lasts <1 year. He is pushed out when they can't contain the bad news from their early policies. "A fresh start" is what they will tell us.
  2. Foreign troops on US soil. Many of our troops will fail their political loyalty tests, and the US will have to - temporarily - invite Chinese peacekeepers to help contain the domestic terrorists. (I'm not joking. This is my serious face.) Call it a "partnership" between the world's two superpowers. A partnership that includes "sharing technologies, intelligence and goodwill."
  3. Lies. So many, don't even try to keep track. Here is one I hope you don't see, but it is best to put this on the record: Karl Ushanka committed suicide. That one will be total bullshit.
  4. Sabotage. Poor economic results will be blamed on anti-admin unknowns within the work force. Stalin called them wreckers and internal enemies. Some of this will be true. Most will be the result of D economic policies and will be no fault of the workers. All, however, will be suspect and help accountable in appropriate show trials.
  5. Cancelled. Expect this blog and my book to be disappeared, sooner rather than later.
  6. Negative Interest Rates. This will be presented as "a temporary measure" and "for the greater good."

I've had a chance to reflect on my activism over these past years. Here are some top picks:

  1. NeverTrump. I'm glad I saw the NeverTrump movement for what it was, as early as I did. These are the traitors of the Right, and they did more damage to the country than the Democrats could ever claim.
  2. Q. I thank God I never followed Q. It looked stupid, smelled awful, and sounded dumb. Biden* is proof that it was all of the above. There was, and there will be, enough stories of freedom being destroyed that we won't have to go looking for more.
  3. The hat. I recognized the Democrats' communist inspirations back in 2006 when I started blogging, and in 2008 when I started selling the Commie Obama hat (later called Glorious Hat). Fuck'in legend.
  4. The book. Trade the Ratio is on its second edition. I have followed my own advice in that book, with pleasant success so far...  And yes, I am mulling a third edition with the unofficial title: I Told You So. Here is a prescient quote from page 69:

"We all know precious metal values are linked to the US Dollar and international stability. But these predictions above show that the true link is to the US political environment, as those in power can control, or at least influence, those two factors. Another lesson-learned (and the most valuable advice in this book): the next time you see the nation shift left prior to a presidential election, adjust your portfolio to accommodate more precious metals. Individual results will not vary."
Last, we have lost two patriots since I stopped blogging. Join me in promising to never forget.

  1. Ol Remus (cancer)
  2. Ashlii Babbitt (government)

Comrades, I wish you well in the coming days.

If you want to chat, swing by Buckman's Tavern. Approach the thirsty guy in the furry hat with the correct challenge/response:

You: In Concord, April's a spring month.
Me: Whereas in Lexington we're freezing our butts off.

This Week in Commie News

Cliff Kincaid: Obama Celebrates Slave Labor Day in Red China
Obama, now in Communist China for the G-20 meeting, has accepted a new and improved version of communist disinformation. He wants the American people to believe that the rulers in Beijing are going to comply with a new climate change agreement to restrict their own industries, which drive their military buildup.

Julie Burchill: Why I was wrong to admire Stalin
Still, Stalinism was a good way of chucking cold water on the unbearably twee twitterings about anarchy on the part of my punk compadres – twitterings that seem to me, looking back, to have been an early precursor of identity politics: one big scream of ME, ME, ME from people whose dark secret was/is that they really weren’t/aren’t very interesting.

---

Admirers were always giving me trinkets – communist badges, lovely red ribbons, real Soviet caps. I shudder with nausea when I remember the way I used to admire myself in them, pouting into the mirrors that I snorted speed off of. “I’m a sexy teenage communist!” I would gloat. But I spat blood whenever I saw a fellow punk sporting a swastika. Why? What was the difference? My side had killed 20 million.

Vanity Fair: Brilliant: Kim Jong Un Bans Sarcasm in North Korea
The Independent reports that North Korean party officials held several mass meetings across the country in an attempt to warn citizens that criticizing the state via indirect, ironic statements such as “This is all America’s fault” would be illegal and “unacceptable.” And the consequences for disobeying are particularly unfunny: according to the nonprofit group Liberty in North Korea, any criticism of the government—including, apparently, the North Korean version of “Thanks, Obama”—“is enough to make you and your family ‘disappear’ from society and end up in a political prison camp.”

A look back, from Gary Saul Morson.

The house is on fire!  On the hidden horrors of Soviet life.
Contrary to what liberals might presume, Soviet ethics taught one to overcome, not foster, natural sympathy for the suffering of others, which might make one hesitate to kill a class enemy. In November 1918, Felix Dzerzhinsky, founder of the Cheka, published an article in the journal Red Terror in which he instructed:
We are not waging war against individual persons. We are exterminating the bourgeoisie as a class. During the investigation, do not look for evidence that the accused acted in deed or word against Soviet power. The first questions that you ought to put are: To what class does he belong? What is his origin? What is his education or profession? And it is these questions that ought to determine the fate of the accused.
It was no big step to extend the notion of enemy classes to enemy peoples, like the Cossacks, Chechens, or Crimean Tatars.
He mentions two books that I'll be considering:
Jörg Baberowski: Scorched Earth: Stalin’s Reign of Terror

Wolfgang Leonhard: Child of the Revolution

Tribute: Lily Tang Williams

A rare tribute post saluting Lily Tang Williams.

She posted the photo above, and these comments, on FB:
I am a Chinese immigrant and an American citizen by choice. I once was a slave before and I will never be one again.

I will always stand with my AR, no matter what my President signs with his pen.
Alexander Solzhenitsyn reminds us that Communism is Communism, and those who are free have an obligation to fight.  At all costs.  Mao, Stalin, and many of America's Democrat voters all share the exact. same. dream.
And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.
Immigration is the hot topic this election cycle.  Trump and Cruz, assuming they are as pro-immigration as they say, should be fighting over Ms. Williams.  She is the perfect example of the type of immigrant this country needs: rabid and vocal anti-communist, self-sufficient, and an assimilated American.

ZH has more, including video of Williams' March 2015 statement against SB15-175, a Colorado bill to reduce magazine capacity.

And look!  This is not my first post with Ms. Williams.  Good for her!  I hope she will contact me and claim her free Glorious Hat.  (Actually, I'll try to contact her.)

The 2016 DNC Strategy

The 2016 DNC Strategy, in a nutshell:

Promise to fix the problems
created by Democrat Party policies

For example:
1) Create the worst employment situation the nation has ever faced, then sell yourself as the only candidate in 2016 who can fix it.  Today's Drudge:

2) Spark and feed a nationwide race war, then sell yourself as the only candidate in 2016 who can fix it.  See my latest article: Cincinnati's Race Problem.

3) Allow like-minded totalitarian regimes (China and Russia) and movements (ISIS) to wage destabilizing economic, cyber and even hot war, then sell yourself as the only candidate in 2016 who can fix it.
If I were advising the Democrats, I'd endorse this exact strategy.  Why?
First, they have over three generations of voters who were indoctrinated in the public government schools.  It appears this will be another election where critical thought and historical references will be absent.
Second, the Democrats have a majority of voters that are either in financial distress and will be open to irresponsible spending or even outright redistribution, or they are government workers.
Third, it works.  It has worked in Detroit.  It is working in California.  And if allowed to continue, it will work at the national level next November.

Some predictions:
If the election gets tight, watch for seemingly extreme [yet empty] Democrat promises for "common sense measures" to fix Planned Parenthood, domestic spying, and even spending.

The old-media strategies will be the same: 1) "The Democrat is smarter," 2) "The Democrat candidate comes out ahead in a thorough, side-by-side comparison of the important issues," 3) "We just can't get behind someone who might restrict women's access to health care."  And watch for the old favorite strategy meant to deflate the GOP base: to judge the GOP candidate's past or flaws from a religious or traditional family values perspective.

Biden is only running because Hillary has failed to inspire.  If Biden fails to inspire too, watch the Democrat Party scramble to recruit another 'dark horse' like Starbucks CEO Schultz.

The Democrat Party's efforts to restrict access to their candidates will continue.  The DNC debates have been put off, and will likely be reduced further.  Establishment candidates Hillary and Biden (not Bernie Sanders) will have rare media and public events to restrict mistakes and honest answers to their intentions.  A common excuse will be the candidate's safety, and as always, numerous yet unsubstantiated death threats will be referenced.
If Bernie Sanders is nominated, I will sell a ton of Glorious Hats!

MarketWatch Screenshots

Three screenshots from MarketWatch today.   Three retorts.

1) Seven Years.

The MSM tells us of the seven years of misery, but draws no correlation to any event from seven years ago.

Can we think of something that happened seven years ago that may be the cause?

Hint: Yes We Can.

Related at GP:   Worst. Jobs. President. Ever… Labor Participation Rate Stuck at 38 Year Low

2) Blaming China is the template.

Do not question the template comrades.

Some excerpts from the article:  Opinion: Beijing’s incompetence is now China’s biggest problem,
By Craig Stephen.
Every move policy makers take shows how clueless and ineffective they really are.
History is full of useful idiots who assume an event wasn't scripted.  Craig is just the latest.

The term "Mirror Imaging" is at play here.  Mirror Imaging is the beholder's assumption (there is that word again) that the other side shares the same values and intentions as he.  China wants to be a world leader at everything: military, economic, etc.  Their recent moves have hurt the single global player who can stifle their expansion plans.  And you call them clueless?  Really?

For much of the summer, global markets have been able to carry on with a detached bemusement at Beijing’s fumbled handling of its stock market burst. But after last week’s “Black Monday” plunge in Shanghai stocks triggered a global equity selloff, suddenly the policy competence of China’s leaders matters to everyone from London to New York.

You know who the smart people are?  The ones who got out of stocks while people like Craig watched with "detached bemusement."  What are the odds one of Craig's next articles contain the words "speculators" and "hoarding?"

Daiwa Research warns, “The debate for China is no longer between realizing a soft landing or a hard one. It is now between a hard landing and a financial crisis.”
They had their hard landing back in June when their market dropped 25%.  Their choice was clear: 1) continue status-quo and let the US export inflation to China, or 2) join the US, Japan and others in money-printing abandon.
Last Monday’s plunge was attributed to rumors Beijing had capitulated in its stock-support efforts.
Another way to say this: Last Monday’s plunge was attributed to rumors Beijing chose to devalue its currency in the same irresponsible fashion as the US Quantitative Easing programs.

3) More correction:

Stocks are dropping because they are grossly overvalued, because the market is built on the quicksand of monetary policy mismanagement, and because the larger economies are in a race-to-the-bottom currency war.

UDPATED 4pm:

The Dow (today's close 16102) is down 12% from its all time high (18351), and 8% in the past month (17550).

Or, less than half the losses in China's stock market.

What does that mean?  Absolutely nothing.  I was just curious and thought I'd share.

Have a great weekend.

Tab Clearing

I've collected a bunch of articles again.  Not many made the grade this time, but they are all available to you at this Google Doc if you want.  29 pages.

Comrade Ann Barnhardt went there.  "There" being the next step in the Democrat Party's journey to hell - the human consumption of aborted babies.  I've been trying to find a way to present this concept, but I always bow out because it is just too ugly.  Ann isn't making this stuff up - she points to China as a place where.  this.  already.  takes.  place.

Jason Hart offers two posts at Doug's site about Ohio's John Kasich's embrace of ObamaCare.  Just in time for tonight's first GOP debate.  Article 1, and Article 2.  The stunning revelation: Kasich is quoted as saying a decision to partner with DC on healthcare should NOT involve ideology.

The Telegraph has a fascinating article about Saudi Arabia and their recent move to flood the market with oil.  Ambrose Evans-Prichard shows how this was a terrible move in the short term, and that the kingdom will be doomed in less than ten years.  This is the best analysis I've seen that addresses the survivability of our fracking against the long-term drop in oil prices.  In short, we win, they lose.  What he doesn't address: how the Saudi decline will impact 'peace' in the Middle East in the coming years.

China's Labor Camps

ReasonTV released this video today.  It is an interview with Harry Wu, a prisoner in China's Gulag system from 1960 to Mao's death in 1979, and now the head of the Museum in DC dedicated to the Gulag prisoners.  He thinks communism is coming to an end in China.  His thinking: Chinese citizens all believe communism is in their past.  Maybe that is enough.

Capitalism: You're Doing It Wrong

China might have a communist government but their economy is based on capitalism.  Or, it was.

China's markets are down 25-40% in the past few weeks.  Over $2T of wealth has disappeared.

They've blocked over 50% of the stocks from being traded.  Imagine being told you cannot sell an asset.

But that isn't the focus of this post.

This is.

Last night's news, shared by ZH:
China’s securities regulator banned major shareholders, corporate executives and directors from selling any of their stakes for six months, the latest effort to stop a $3.5 trillion rout in the nation’s equity market.
The "major" shareholders in any economy are the entrepreneurs, innovators and business leaders.  Also known as the people to CREATE wealth.

Anyone with half a brain knows A) they are your country's bread and butter, and B) if they don't see a reason to risk their time, effort and personal wealth for a chance at big gains, they won't.

Whatever short-term fix this may have given the communist leaders in China will be dwarfed by the long-term impact.  Guaranteed.

BTW, I read about this China market crash a year ago in one of Jim Rickards' books.  I've mentioned him before as my preferred source for economic analysis and predictions.  His pessimism is measured with maturity from a long career in both the markets and in helping the US government with financial terrorism modeling.

His books:
Currency Wars
Death of Money

His blog.

Also: kudos goes to ZeroHedge which has been off-line most of today due to a spike in traffic.

UPDATED 2 minutes later:

"No Quotation" is the new buzz term for 2015.

UPDATED 2:10pm:

Knuckledraggin Ken commented on the China market problems:
Let’s see, China’s having severe financial problems, we owe China a shitload of money… China’s gonna come collecting.
UPDATED 7.9.15 6:30am:

I stand corrected.

Blocking large shareholders from selling for six months seemed extreme a day ago.

But threatening to arrest traders who bet on a downward market - a reality that occurs about, oh, 50% of the time?  WTF are the Chinese communists thinking?  Are they that threatened?

At least they aren't arresting "hoarders" and other bourgeoisie wreckers..  That we know of.

ZH: Utter Desperation: Chinese Police Vow To Arrest "Malicious Short Sellers"
In what can only be described as total and utter desperation, China's Public Security Ministry and China Securities Regulatory Commission are discussing a plan to take action against "hostile short sellers"
Had they allowed the markets to absorb investor sentiment over the past month, this "crisis" would be over and we'd be hearing about "buying opportunities" in China right now.

Can you even imagine our leaders plotting to arrest American citizens for legal activities?

Ann Barnhardt's Predictions II

Comrade Ann Barnhardt joined Comrade Andrea Shea-King this week for a BlogTalk Radio interview

Andrea asked Ann to explain her predictions in detail - predictions I dedicated a post to just last month.

I'd suggest you listen to the whole one-hour interview, but jump forward to the 46-minute mark to hear this discussion.  You'll hear about Martial Law, the suspension of the Constitution, and about "full blown civil war."

Ann also added a prediction to her original eleven - #12 below.  Now there are 8 predictions that have come true, and four that she still expects.

Predictions that have come true or are in progress:
1.  Caliphate
2.  Cloward-Piven
3.  Inflation (food)
4.  Universal Health Care
5.  Open Borders
6.  Criminalization of Christianity
7.  Civil Unrest (racial)
8.  End of Rule of Law
Predictions still expected in the next 614 days:
9.    Nuclear War in the Middle East
10.  Obama is Assassinated
11.  Chinese "Peacekeeping" Troops Deploy in North America
12.  Seizing of Retirement Accounts
Have you considered how your life would change if just one of these remaining predictions were to occur?

Check out my Obama Checklist where I track a similar list of predictions.

Premature Ecommunation

Washington state took the bold, yet premature, step of flying the Chinese Communist flag in front of their state house.

This is the same state that passed I594, a tyranny bill turning their law-abiding citizens into criminals in the name of the greater good, or something.  Like the citizens in the video above, the WA citizens are fighting back: Ushanka, and Townhall.

Gateway Pundit recommends you call Washington's Democrat Governor Jay Insless to share your feedback about his state's leftward turn: 303-902-4111.

U/T: The citizen arrested for taking the communist flag down in Washington.

Correction 11am:

The gentleman who took the flag down was not arrested.   Kudos to him, regardless.

Tuesday Tab Clearing

I grabbed this pic from Western Rifle a couple weeks ago to add to my Hammer and Sickle collection.

Supposedly, if I collect all the Hammer and Sickle photos I win a prize.  Although I haven't read the fine print on that yet...

Rex Nutting at MarketWatch is the useful idiot of the day with his article: America is full of slackers and deadbeats who won’t work.

Good ol Rex is preparing the opposition for 2016 when Republicans suggest Obama and the Democrat Party have been bad for jobs.  Rex tells us the real reason is that the unemployed are lazy and won't go find a job.  This must be part one of a two-part series, and that he'll list the companies in part two that can't seem to find the help they need.

Another article idea for Rex is for him to tell us what jobs he's had, outside of journalism.

Remember conservatives, if there is a problem in 2016, it is your fault.

---

From the Manosphere, Roosh gives us the results from his recent study of Mao: The Wisdom Of Mao Tse Tung
What drew me to this book [On Guerrilla Warfare] is to learn exactly how he did it. How did he go from being a member of the rag-tag Chinese communist party with a small membership to eventually overthrowing the Western-backed Chiang Kai-shek after World War 2? The answer lies in time, extraordinary persistence, and genius.
I'd suggest the answer also lies in Mao's ability to exploit envy to the tune of 60,000,000 murdered, and Truman's reluctance to remove communists from his administration who facilitated the US dropping support for Kai-shek.

But not to be critical, this is the kind of research we can benefit from.  The stories of Mao, Hitler, Trotsky, et al can both help us spot the next tyrant and learn from those who suffered.  History is full of smart men motivated by power-over-others who were tied to deeply destructive ideologies.  Anyone who can rationalize killing their political opponents have no place in power.  Like "climate changers."

---

Speaking of dead innocents, Thomas Hobbes also writes at Return of Kings: How Political Correctness Killed 1,200 People.
It took five years, but the electorate eventually woke up to this slow motion catastrophe, booting the Labor government out of office in 2013. Yet the grand total, over six years of “compassion” was at least 1,200 people, drowned or smashed up against one reef or another. In the last six years of the Howard government, this figure was zero. It was entirely preventable.
Hobbes posts an excellent and focused comparison of a specific policy under a conservative and under a liberal.

Hobbes states he is a former "social justice warrior," or what I call here at Ushanka, a "liberal progressive communist."

As I've warned communists here and abroad before, beware of the former liberals.  They know your game plan, your tactics and your goals.  They will eat you for lunch.  Hobbes just did it.

This guy did it:

China Had Common Core

A passionate plea by mother and former Mao student, Lily Tang Williams, against the nationalization of education.

My thanks to Lily for calling out Obama and Jeb Bush for their participation in this communist scheme.

We all know the answer to this.  No doubt many in the education system abhore what is taking place.  The problem: they hate even more if the opposite were to occur and government were removed from their current role in education.

Vouchers would be a mess, if implemented.  A wonderful, enlightening, glorious mess that would return this nation to its greatness in just a single generation.  It'll only happen if parents make it happen.  And there is the rub.  Lily is not enough.

US Economy: An Update

I've been following Jim Rickards since I read his two books earlier this year.  I get a sense of a seasoned perspective from him, leaning on the side of a glass-is-half-empty approach.  He is more constant than some of the others in the opinion game.

Some interesting comments on China, Russia, gold, central banks and the recent drop in oil.  This interview was posted today, but it appears to be a few weeks old.

The Answer is "No"

No, our dear leader did not get his purple Mao suit from the Commie Obama store.

Investing in Subprime America

Captain Capitalism posts an open letter to China thanking them for giving us money to spend on our "investments."  A good post - go read it!

Do they really think we'll pay it back?  Do they really think we could even if we wanted to?

Have they been paying attention to who we vote for?

News Flash China:  America doesn't pay its debts anymore.  Generations of public schooling, single parenting and entitlement culture have left this country a shell of its former self.  Sure, we have winners here.  They are the ones filling the fewer jobs and paying the welfare benefits of the others.

The US will only default on its debt if we choose to.  In reality, we will continue to dilute the money supply in order to create inflation.  That inflation will allow us to make payments on our debt with diluted dollars.  Sure, Americans with savings accounts have lost about 6% each year since "Hope and Change," but they don't know that.  China and other holders of our debt should plan to get 100% of the principle back but at a value of ~70% of the original loan.

If you want full payment, you'll need to take Guam.  Or Hawaii.

Just PLEASE, don't stop buying our debt!

This Week in Communism

North Korea:

Doug shares a rumor that Kim Jung-Un's authority in North Korea has been redistributed.  We're just at the interpretation stage here: a) he hasn't been seen in a month, and b) a high-ranking NK general is in South Korea, smiling.  Look for more substantial info later this week.

Occupy Central

CNN:

Occupy Central is the political party in Hong Kong who has been denied permission to run a candidate in the 2017 Hong Kong leadership elections.  Their supporters have been protesting in the business district for a week.  Yesterday, the disobedience led to tear gas use by police.

The significance: some say Communist rule in China is on the ropes.  A slowing economy with a chance of collapse, mal-investment (over-building, empty cities, corruption, etc.), a generation short (30%) of women due to the one-child policy, and the use of social media by the younger generations.  In fact, Instagram was blocked by the communist regime.  The question for coming days: will the People's Liberation Army intervene?
