If you exclusively watch Peter Schiff on YouTube and only read the ZeroHedge website for your financial news, you would have missed the monthly taper on the Fed's irresponsible money-printing.
I subscribe to Peter's channel and I'm at ZH daily, so this post is part mea-culpa. Neither sources had confidence that the money-printed would end.
Here is a chart I threw together of the Fed "tapering" since December when their Quantitative Easing had peaked at an obnoxious $85 billion per month in new, inflating money.
Actions speak louder than words, don't they?
This month's $45 billion is $45 billion too much. But it is lower than last month's $55 billion.
This, of course, could change tomorrow. Just watch Peter or read ZH to hear why...
I was as disgusted with the QE abuses of 2013 and earlier as I am impressed with the discipline of cutting in 2014. Let's see where it goes, and give credit where credit is due.
Yes, I still own a few gold and silver coins as part of my Obama Cuss Jar savings plan.

The FIRST Difference Between Democrats and Republicans
A while back, when Zhukov was just a little boy, the topic of politics came up. He'd heard Mrs. Karl and I fume over some latest broken promise or failed policy or blatant lie or traitorous act or compliant intern. He wanted to understand.
How do you introduce a young person to our two-party system? Where do you start?
We started with the glaring basics. What life and death topics do the two parties disagree on, ALWAYS and COMPLETELY?
We explained that Democrats support abortion, and that Republicans support the death penalty.
On abortion, Republicans will often yell "It's a child!" or "It is an innocent life!"
On the death penalty, Democrats will yell "It is extreme!" or "Blacks are unfairly convicted!" or "It is inhumane!" or "He could be innocent!"
(What's funny here is, by now, regardless of your political leanings, I've pissed you off! Funny, but not intended!)
Well, Zhukov has a good head on his shoulders (he had been private-schooled up to this point) and this simple review of two top issues was enough to help him share our frustrations with the bed-wetter class that makes up half of this country.
So today it is the Democrats yelling about an Oklahoma execution "gone wrong." The guy is dead, so you must dig deeper to find out what part of "wrong" they are complaining about.
Clayton Lockett via Clash Daily:
Speaking of "shit happens," when an abortion has "gone wrong" it results in a baby being born alive. This was the topic of my last article, posted at American Thinker. Assuming you've been living in a cave these past five years of hope, change, and summers of recovery, you'd be surprised to learn that President Barack Obama actually supported killing these children who survived the abortion procedure. If that sounds like something your tender mind shouldn't read, by all means, crawl back into your cave and don't come out until the next election when you'll be told how smart you are.
There are many out there who want to cloud the differences between the parties, and with many topics they can. But the differences are crystal clear if you stick to the life and death issues. It is the FIRST difference.
Don't let yourselves be fooled, comrades.

The 38-year-old, who was found guilty of shooting a woman and watching his friends bury her alive, was declared unconscious ten minutes after the first of the state’s new three-drug lethal injection combination was administered.Supposedly his vein ruptured and the poisons had to seep into his tissues like guilt rather than course through his veins like hate. Shit happens.
Three minutes later, though, he began breathing heavily, writhing, clenching his teeth and straining to lift his head off the pillow.

Tuesday Afternoon Cigar
Rocky Patel Edge Sumatra.
We finished one book and started another.
We finished Scott Kenemore's latest zombie book: Zombie, Indiana. This is his third Midwest zombie book and he does not disappoint. We have updated our Top Zombie Books post with this latest book.
We started reading comrade JL Curtis' first book, The Grey Man. This is a story about a Texas deputy and his deputy grand daughter. So far a fun read. We met the author, who also blogs as OldNFO at Nobody Asked Me, at the NRA Convention this past weekend where he signed our copy.

Book Notes: Journey into the Whirlwind
I finished Eugenia Ginzburg's Journey into the Whirlwind on Friday.
An excellent book - one of the best if you're interested in reading a very detailed description of what the Soviet Gulag experience was for a woman.
I've added the book to the Library section at the left, along with a link to my book notes where I've shared some of the best quotes.

In Indiana Today
The NRA Convention is in Indianapolis today. Wayne LaPierre spoke yesterday.
There is a major disconnect in America. There are five million NRA members. Yet there are one hundred gun owners. If you're one of the 95 million, can I make a suggestion to you, with all due respect?
The NRA is the only lobbying group in DC whose members do not consider themselves victims.
We are a group who have no interest in "diversity" because we do not see ourselves as a group but as individuals.
Nobody at the NRA suggests we claim minority rights in order to gain some advantage over other Americans. The NRA stands for every American's rights, not just its dues-paying members.
These reasons are enough forLiberals Progressives Communists to hate us. But there is one more factor that burns those commies to the bone: NRA members are passionate. We don't need to be bussed in by some union to rally for our cause. 70,000 NRA members are in Indianapolis today, and not one was paid to be here.
UPDATED 4.27.14:
We're back! What a great show. Imagine all the high-end vendors getting together to show off their products. I saw guns, scopes, and equipment that I'll never be able to afford.
Thanks to OldNFO for setting up the blogmeet last night. We hung out with Mr. B and MidWest Chick. And we met a bunch of great bloggers, including: The Shekel, Lagniappe's Lair and Slow Facts.
Sarah didn't make the blogmeet last night. She did get a chance to speak:

The Bundy Smear
I saw the headlines a couple days ago saying "Bundy is a racist." My trained sniffer knew there was something amok within the elite press. I decided to wait for people I respect to weigh in before I look at the details.
Bob Owens is someone I respect. I have found over the past year or so that I am in agreement with opinions and conclusions. So when he posted his April 24 article, Cliven Bundy's Racist Rant Lost The Public Relations War for Bundy Ranch, I settled in for the bad news. I watched the Bundy video that Bob posted, simultaneously reading Bob's article, and I felt a disconnect.
My FB comment:
Nobody has (yet) told me where I am mistaken. I feel confident now to say that Bob had it wrong.
Judging from what I see on FB and those trusted bloggers listed in my Blogroll at the left, it appears Hannity and Beck went that way too. (Being financially tied to their viewership, they are more sensitive to labels - which is why I stopped relying on any of the commercial pundits.)
What got the national media involved was a smear campaign. A very late one.
Long before this Domestic Terrorist knew the difference between Republican and Democrat, a gang of jack-booted thugs swarmed a group home in Waco Texas. With no political axe to grind then, I still remember one thing very clearly. Two days after the thugs got their asses handed to them by the residents, the nation's Attorney General justified the use of force, including the possibility of future force, on the idea that child abuse may be going on inside that home.
Now mind you, child abuse is serious. But Janet Reno's actions were confusing on this issue. The urgency to use an army of men to attack a house suggests a seriousness. (They could have just knocked.) Waiting 51 days while said abuse could be going on - not so serious. Then, burning the structure to the ground (or letting it burn to the ground) with 76 inside - including the 19 potential child abuse victims - pretty serious.
I remember Janet Reno mentioning child abuse two days after the raid for one very simple reason:
They are calling Bundy a racist for the exact same reason.
They were quicker and better at distracting us in the early 90's. One is always caught flat-footed when attacked for the first time.
The BLM/Bundy story has been refreshingly different. Armed citizens saw the tyranny and responded. And name calling no longer works in our connected society. Social media should get some of the credit, but I'd like to tip my ushanka to my fellow citizens who've set a higher standard for FedGov's and the MSM's behavior.
Some others have weighed in:
Kira Davis
Cliven Bundy's black bodyguard:
And Mr. Common Sense himself:
To the tyrants in the FedGov who deployed both snipers to "save a turtle" and their sycophants in the media to smear a man, I suggest you do the following:

Hell, I’m black and I often wonder about the same about the decline of the black family. Bottom line is that we are all slaves in this waning republic, no matter our skin color. Mr. Bundy could have used any racial demographic as an example: Native Americans on reservations, whites in trailer parks, etc. He noticed the crippling effects of receiving government “assistance” and the long term result of accepting handouts.

Clooney
Casino-man Steve Wynn may have nothing nice to say about top-gun actor George Clooney, of Team American fame, but we do. Clooney ROCKED in that movie and we won't let anybody say otherwise.
But as to Clooney's drunken behavior at a Wynn dinner, we'll let these Wynn comments float around the Internet for a while:
Wynn said Clooney “got drunk” from downing tequila shots and stormed off after delivering an F-bomb.At least we know there is one person out there that is still enamored with our dear leader.
[Clooney] “He called the president an asshole ... that is a fact ... I said the President was my longtime friend and then he said ‘your friend is an asshole.’ ... At that point I told Steve that HE was an asshole and I wasn’t going to sit at his table while he was being such a jackass.
“And I walked out. There were obviously quite a few more adjectives and adverbs used by both of us. Those are all the facts. It had nothing to do with politics and everything to do with character.”
Clooney took exception, Wynn said, when one of the CAA execs told a joke about former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev. “He stood up and threw a hissy fit” at the CAA guy, Wynn said in a telephone interview, his first comments on the dust-up.
“Then he sat down and started talking about the Affordable Care Act, and that’s when I spoke up,” said Wynn, a frequent critic of Obamacare. “He didn’t like that either. I think my discussion about the Affordable Care Act was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
“When he’s drinking, he considers himself a close personal buddy of the president."
“Clooney’s fun to be with when he’s sober,” Wynn added. “If you have a chance to drink with him, you want to get there early, and don’t stay late.
“Everybody who’s in my business, the casino business, knows to take actors with a grain of salt.”

Vintage Soviet Photos
English Russia has posted an album of 100+ vintage photos that appeared in the Soviet magazine "SMENA" (Change) between 1955 and 1960 - immediately following Stalin's decades of terror.
Most photos are of optimistic times,
...but this one caught our eye for obvious reasons.

Evil Uncovered
The Russians moved so fast under the leadership of Georgie Zhukov that zGermans couldn't destroy the evidence of their labor and death camps in Poland. The world discovered.
The patriots swarmed the Bundy Ranch and pushed FedGov off the property. And the world discovered.
Lesson: You will learn the truth when you catch the tyrants flat-footed.

A Comrade's Warning
You have options when learning more about Communism.
You can read the books listed in our Library at the left. I did, and all on a full stomach, usually with a fine cigar, and always with the freedom to go and do as I pleased.
Or, you can seek out those who lived it:
Regardless of where you get your information, understanding Communism is a must. Worst case, you'll be prepared. Best case, you'll have a better perspective on life and humanity.

Parallels: Obama and CPUSA
Our comrade at Noisy Room has posted this Independent Sentinel article comparing Obama's inspirations with The Communist Party USA's. (Remember, CPUSA did not run a candidate for president in 2008 or 2012. They chose, instead, to endorse Obama.)
If you've seen the similarities between Obama's statements and policies with those at CPUSA and from the history of communism, this article will not present anything new to you. But if you've been able to ignore partisan politics these past five years and are just realizing something fundemental is happening to our country, this article will give you an outline to follow as you do your research.
Many videos posted from CPUSA, Glenn Beck and others.
We clicked around the CPUSA site and found this article about our teachers. It begins:
Nearly 25 years after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War, more and more historians are beginning to paint a more objective, balanced and - in many cases - positive picture of the role of communists and the Communist Party, USA in the U.S. labor movement.Yep, they are right there in front of your nose, teaching our children.
Clarence Taylor's Reds At The Blackboard: Communism, Civil Rights and the New York City Teachers Union is a welcome addition to U.S. labor and communist history.
The Commie Obama hat, pictured above, is sold here. Don't show up to the Enlightenment Center without one and expect me to share my crust of bread with you....
Tab Clearing
I've had my nose in a bunch of books this past week, hence the limited blogging. The tabs have stacked up, so instead of a post for each topic, I'm going to clear them all here.
Trivia Question: Which Nevada senator's great-great-uncle (Remus Reid) was hanged in Montana in 1889 for stealingcattle horses?
(This came from FB and one commenter suggested it is not accurate. I'm sharing because it feels accurate. I'm in touch with my feelings!)
---
We've all heard that Harry Reid called the patriots at Bundy's ranch "Domestic Terrorists." I am unable to find a similar quote about MOHAMMED Pedro Whitaker who was recently arrested for terrorizing Kansas City freeways over the past month. Ushanka Comrades NiceDeb and Mikhail both live there and I am glad they are ok. (And MOHAMMED should thank Allah he didn't take a shot at Mikhail... They'd still be cleaning up that mess.)
The media might be downplaying this crime - they took nearly a day to release his name - but there are some of us out here who understand the threat and who have long since found better sources for news.

Comrade Dave at MoonBattery posted this video. The focus is on the Bundy news, but watch it with a eye for understanding the Communists' need to control food distribution and use food as the ultimate weapon against the people.
Executive Order 13575:
If only our benevolent dear leader can start "helping" farmers with their priorities too.

Another great episode of Intellectual Froglegs:
Great editing, as always! And I appreciate his comments about different solutions to the Bundy legal issues: Asset seizure and/or a lien on their property. It speaks volumes when our FedGov skips those paperwork options and instead sends guns.
Imagine a day when The People see the paperwork imposed on them as an option.
---
Comrade Bob Owens: Deputy Sheriff Shoots Himself While Trying to Kill Family Pet.
I'm shocked! Shocked! that I beat Mr. B to this story.
Not to worry. The officer is safe. Once the feral beast saw the officer had hurt himself, the rabid dog called off his killer attack.
---
Comrade Bob Owens also has fun with Mayor Bloomberg's latest embarrassment in a string of embarrassments that will continue as long as the billionaire ex-mayor tries to separate me from my gun. Hitler video included!
---
If you made it this far, seek employment. You have WAY too much time on your hands!

Executive Order 13575:
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America and in order to enhance Federal engagement with rural communities, it is hereby ordered as follows:This reminds me of how Obama used TARP. Intended by Bush and Congress to shore up the banks for a short term, Obama used TARP to invade the board rooms of banks. Even healthy banks who didn't want TARP, like Wells Fargo, were forced to take it and open their doors to those more equal. Once inside, invited or not, he has been able to re-establish sub-prime and other risky [redistribution] behavior, and establish priorities based on a government plan. The label "Facist" is more accurate than "Communist" in describing what Obama has done to the nation's banking industry.
Section 1. Policy. Sixteen percent of the American population lives in rural counties. Strong, sustainable rural communities are essential to winning the future and ensuring American competitiveness in the years ahead. These communities supply our food, fiber, and energy, safeguard our natural resources, and are essential in the development of science and innovation. Though rural communities face numerous challenges, they also present enormous economic potential. The Federal Government has an important role to play in order to expand access to the capital necessary for economic growth, promote innovation, improve access to health care and education, and expand outdoor recreational activities on public lands.
To enhance the Federal Government's efforts to address the needs of rural America, this order establishes a council to better coordinate Federal programs and maximize the impact of Federal investment to promote economic prosperity and quality of life in our rural communities.
If only our benevolent dear leader can start "helping" farmers with their priorities too.

Monday Afternoon Cigar
A Rocky Patel Edge smoldered as we cracked open our latest book, Journey into the Whirlwind by Eugenia Ginzburg.
This, and her second book, have been sitting on my bookshelf for years. A shame I put this off, as it is another GREAT read on Stalin's Terror of the 1930's. I'm still early in it, but I'd put Ginzburg on the same level as Solzhennitsyn for her ability to share a most depressing story in a light and digestible manner.
Two other books we read this past week:
Breeds, by Keith C. Blackmore. Blackmore is my latest favorite author. I've recommended his zombie books before, and this horror book rocks. A great storyteller with a rich set of characters in every book. A short read - you can knock this one out in a day.
Dear Reader: The Unauthorized Autobiography of Kim Jung Il, by Michael Malice. I've added this to my library list at the left and am currently typing up my Book Notes. I'll post a link to my review and notes here shortly.

This is not about tortoises and cattle. It is not about who controls the vast lands claimed by the federal government. It is not about "the children" or "common-sense gun safety" or any of the many lies that are spun to conceal the iron fist of arbitrary power.Click here to read the whole speech.
It is about control. It is about who serves whom. We are divided now, as they were in 1775, by the answer to the most fundamental of questions: Does the government serve the people or do the people serve the government? Who serves whom? What do you think?
We'll post the video of this speech once it is posted to YouTube.

Saturday Afternoon Cigar
We're celebrating this sacred April 19th with our favorite, a Rocky Patel Sun Grown.
How did you celebrate?
Today's holiday is made even more special thanks to our fellow Domestic Terrorists in Nevada.
FedGov never likes being upstaged, and we are wary of when the next shoe will drop. Those at the top have proven time and again to be petty sniveling sissies who use every setback to double down with another communist-inspired act. Watch your back, comrades.

The Consequences of Drug Legalization
Pot doesn't kill. Pot cookies kill.
At least one did in Denver.
The real damage of the marijuana legalization movement will go unseen for years. You'll see it in the continued decline in society's values. Individuals will suffer. Families will suffer. Society will suffer.
Liberals and Libertarians push drug legalization. Society, as a result, slides the slippery slope away from 'the right and wrong' foundation that comes from both religious and traditional family values.

Authentic Hat Pictures!
Tired of waiting for the day when every American wears the Ushanka hat? That day is coming soon enough. But until then, some good hat pics are just a click away.

Remember, these photos are of a time when the Soviet Union was just a few years from collapse, and over 30 years past the terror. These were 'the good times' in the Soviet experiment.

Tam Goes Back in Time
Comrade, hat-owner and gun-blogger, Tam, obtained a copy of the September 1965 National Geographic.
She's giddy:
We'd recommend the recent book by Warren Kozak: LeMay: The Life and Wars of Curtis LeMay to anyone who wants to read about a very serious American warrior.
She's giddy:
And before the USAF article is a seven page piece penned by none other than Curtis goddam LeMay, the very thought of which should make the average Nat Geo-subscribing fair-trade hemp-wearing SWPL choke on their half-caff latte and spray it all over their May 2014 special issue on sustainable organic agriculture. You could smell the smoke of GEN LeMay's cigar, mingled with a faint whiff of the ashes of Tokyo, coming right off the page...My National Geographic copy is in the mail.
We'd recommend the recent book by Warren Kozak: LeMay: The Life and Wars of Curtis LeMay to anyone who wants to read about a very serious American warrior.
Anyone in Congress Want to be President?
The GOP has set their standards so low, and my expectations are equally low, for 2016.
The opportunity for a congresscritter to steal the 2016 show, and earn my vote for the highest office, is simple:
Why destroy a water tank?
Why drive vehicles where endangered species are known to exist?
Why ignore the threat to the same endangered species by wild horses in Utah?
Why shoot and kill the man's cattle?
Why single-out Bundy and his family with the threat of lethal force?
How much ammo did the BLM, Park Police and others bring?
Who approved the purchase of this sign with my tax dollars?
Who requested this sign?
Why spend more in SWAT teams and a lengthy deployment than what Bundy owes?
Any takers?
UPDATED 4.18.14 5pm:
So far, only Texas Congressman Steve Stockman has my vote for President.
U/T: Comrade Donald
UPDATED 4.30.14:
Let's put Utah Congressman Chris Stewart in the running here. He proposes disarming BLM, IRS and other federal agencies that have no business playing SWAT.

Ideology Trumps Profits... Until It Doesn't
WZ reports that ABC has hired conservative talk-radio host Laura Ingram. And the liberals progressives communists at the lib-outlet, Salon, are none too happy about it!
I scored an interview with myself:
I scored an interview with myself:
Karl: Karl, what is your reaction to today's news that ABC has hired a conservative?
Karl: ABC is still on the air? I thought they went the way of Air America and Polio, two scurges that set the human race back a bit. Who did they hire?
Karl: ABC hired Laura Ingram. Heard of her?
Karl: Sure, who hasn't? Good for them. That should put their viewership into a range that will attract advertisers, and maybe even save the network.
Things are changing in America's media, Karl: Laura's new gig follows the dismissals of Martin Bashir, Piers Morgan, and Ezra Klein, the on-air resignation of Liz Wahl, and the hiring of The Volokh Conspiracy bloggers. Apparently liberal viewers don't spend money so the media outlets need conservative viewers in order to attract paying advertisers.
By the way, one of the first political books I ever read was Laura's 2003 book, Shut Up and Sing. She's a smart one. And pretty. She won't come across all shrill, smug and unappealing like that guy on MSNBC, um...
Karl: Rachel Maddow?
Karl: Ya.
Karl: Does Laura own one of your Commie Obama hats?
Karl: Not yet.
Karl: Do you talk to yourself often?
Karl: Sure. don't you? Of the voices in my head however, yours is less, um...
Karl: Crazy?
Karl: Demanding.
I think the Bundy thing is over
I think our betters, the ones who are more equal than us and who have far better tactical gear than us, will not be returning in force to the Bundy Ranch. I base this prediction on two statements:
1) Alex Jones says "They're coming back!" and
2) Harry Reid says "It's not over."
I've learned to believe the opposite of what those two guys say.
There are many other factors that I am purposely not considering. And I could be wrong, although I was the first to call Obama a commie and name a hat after him...
I think these BLM/Park Police guys are those types who like to pull wings off of flies. They're going to pick citizen targets where they can dominate.
I found this pic while clicking around today. Another beauty!
Related, Western Rifle linked to his FANTASTIC blog post, The Pig Trap, by a taxi driver. You've probably heard the pig trap analogy where you build a fence one side at a time and slowly trap the pigs, but this blog post goes FAR beyond that. It is as brilliant as it is well written.

These people are beneath contempt. Their greed, hypocrisy, and sense of entitlement are beyond appalling. We don’t have elected representatives anymore, we have elected rulers… cake, anyone…?
Maybe I’m crazy… maybe I’m paranoid… what the fuck do I know? Maybe I’m just a dumbass taxi driver that spends way too much time reading crazy websites on the Internet. My intellectual betters are already telling me that everything is fine, these problems will work themselves out after another election or two, and that a Clinton or a Bush are inevitable again, and these people know what they are doing.
Sorry… I just don’t buy it. What can not go on, will not go on. A realignment is coming to America, maybe in a year, maybe in ten years, but it is coming.

We're Back
I spent the weekend in a First Second Amendment Zone working on my perishable skills. And no, I wasn't in Chicago.
It appears there were two big stories while I was out. The KKK shooting in Kansas was a surprise. Being an organization formed by and benefiting the Democrat Party, the KKK should be extinct in Kansas. To anyone who pays attention to state-level politics, Kansas is, and always shall be, Republican. It's the law there. The last Democrat in Kansas, a former KKK member, is now in jail for killing threeblacks Jews Christians. Just another liberal on a killing spree...
The other story is, of course, the near miss we had in Nevada. Like I said before, I don't compare the Bundy Ranch standoff to Ruby Ridge or Waco. I think the better comparison is the North Bridge. And that anniversary is coming this Saturday. It is the second most important day in American history, second only to July 4. I will be waving my Bedford flag. Will you?
Here are some images, just in case you might have missed one or two of these. I'll get back to posting substance hopefully tomorrow.

There is that symbol again...
As do I!

Tragedy Postponed
I pulled off the road to this remote Internet Free Speech Zone to share this photo from III Percent Patriots.
Just too powerful to wait until I get back.
Congrats and THANK YOU to the many who put themselves in harm's way.
Back to blogging soon. Until then, talk amongst yourselves.

Best Advice Re: Bundy Ranch
Advice from Western Rifle:
The Zuckerbergs and Sergey Brins may be the Democrat Party's biggest donors, but they've created the platforms for freedom fighters worldwide to share their stories. Use these tools!

More great advice. This from III Percenters:
You can thank BLM's aggressive deployment of agents from Nevada and surrounding states for that.
You can further thank their chain of command who have made zero effort to reduce the tension and who have authorized the ever-increasing manpower.
If someone gets shot, will our dear leader come out with a sad look on his face and say, "He acted stupidly."? Will he say, "There was only a smidgen of gunfire."? Or, "If you like your First Amendment Area, you can keep it."?
In Nevada, on the other hand, I sure wish some of the social-media/propaganda talent on display recently in the Ukrainian uprising was on the job. The most important oversight I can see is the absence of a clearly-designated point-of-contact for media and other inquiries.
The message?Precisely! How come we saw courage and teamwork against overwhelming odds in Ukraine, but we only see snippets of resistance out of Venezuela? Answer: Social Media.

More great advice. This from III Percenters:
If you are considering the trip to Nevada, be certain to weigh everything. Once you get there, you will probably not be in control of events and you may not be able to extricate yourself if stupid people take stupid (or self-serving) decisions. The days when these comments elicited ridicule, or were called "paranoid" by the 'elites,' are over.
If you are going to Nevada, I would urge you to use the experience to test your comms capabilities, from getting pictures, audio and video out to FreeFor, to using your HAM. Even if you do not have your HAM licenses, this is a time and place that will allow you to set up your antenna in real-world tactical conditions. Test your gear.

Hat Owner Victory
I met Professor Mike Adams at CPAC 2008. I had been following his Townhall column for at least two years prior. He is a cigar smoker, gun owner, a Christian, an advocate for life, and an excellent writer of conservative issues. After CPAC he was a hat-owner too.
The first day of CPAC that year Romney pulled out of the primary, giving the nomination to McCain. McCain was not an exciting nominee until his VP pick later in the year. In his CPAC speech that year Prof. Adams suggested voting for McCain for one simple reason: A vote for McCain is a vote against Socialism.
The hat-owner was proven right.
He recently finished a 7-year court battle over his job at the University of North Carolina where he was discriminated for his Christian beliefs. Remember, communists control academia. And communists must dilute religious and traditional family values in order to accomplish theirvision takeover. They have been successful nearly everywhere in ridding colleges of Christians. That their hatred of religion doesn't transfer to Islam where women and young boys are subject to rape, and over 80% of young girls face genital mutilation, is beyond me. Maybe it is a white thing.
Anyhoo... Prof Adams won his court case and will receive a court-ordered promotion. It is nice to see the left lose in their home court. We may look back and say "this is where we turned the corner."

Benchmark: 3 Years Ahead
One of the questions that has caused the most noise at the blogs I follow is "when?" When will the dollar collapse? When will inflation become unbearable? When will we see 'the reset?' When will the dead rise from the graves?
The bloggers I follow have avoided these questions for this simple reason: anybody willing to answer these questions isn't worth listening too.
I suspect there are educated answers out there, but they reside quietly with professionals, not the YouTube yahoos that offer daily investment advice, which by the way, always seems to be "THE END IS NEAR - BUY GOLD!" Gold at $1200oz? Buy! Gold at $1950oz? Buy! Gold back at $1200oz? Buy!
The question of "what?" is much easier. Obama has introduced massive peacetime deficit spending to cover his domestic agenda, spending more than all previous presidents combined. What cannot be sustained, won't be. This suggests bad times are a com'in and drives investment into safer things like gold.
Some foresee a major collapse event.
I subscribe to the other camp who foresee a general prolonged decline in living standards and purchasing power.
Based on this "what?" question, I bought my first gold coin in early 2011 (see video links at bottom). It was an educated transaction based on actual events (spending and lawlessness), not fear. (I only discovered the YouTube wanna-be's much later.) Roughly 6 months later MF Global blew up, confirming for me that the rule of law was anything but.
As for the "when?", only hindsight will be accurate.
Yahoo's Finance page today:
It is still early in the current market sell-off, so this may not be "it." But if it is "it," then on this one aspect of the Obama "transformation," I was 3 years ahead of the curve (about two years behind Glenn Beck).
Related, at ZH: Investor Marc Faber predicted today a 2014 crash that will be larger than the 1987 crash.
If the topic of precious metals interests you, take a look at my precious metals videos. I do not offer advice so much as I share my lessons learned and suggest some considerations to make if you choose these investments.

Aaron
Hank Aaron, hall of fame baseball player, on Republicans (CBS):
The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts.
We are scrambling at the Commie Obama Hat factory to get some "hoods" onto the store shelves! We normally do not release corporate internal communications, however I'm making an exception in this case. Here are my questions to the Commie Obama Hat marketing team:
Why didn't we think of this?! What can we charge the customer? Can we do a 3-for-1 bundle? Does it have to be white, or can we make a pink version for the ladies? Do the focus groups suggest we stick with cotton, or is there a more preferred material?
My take on this Hank Aaron thing:
1) It is an 'old man' thing. No offense to old men, but we can all agree the memory does fade in time. For Hank to reference the KKK, a Democrat organization, in a criticism of the Republicans is lacking... a lot. It is only his name that made this national news. Anybody else would have been dismissed as a blithering idiot.
2) Hank has followed Colin Powell down the partisan, racist, I've-got-too-much-time-on-my-hands path. Like Colin Powell, Hank Aaron was once a solid role-model of an individual with values, accomplishments and stature.
West Virginia Senator and former KKK Kleagle, Robert Byrd (D-WV) was unavailable for comment.
