Hank Aaron, hall of fame baseball player, on Republicans (CBS):
The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts.
We are scrambling at the Commie Obama Hat factory to get some "hoods" onto the store shelves! We normally do not release corporate internal communications, however I'm making an exception in this case. Here are my questions to the Commie Obama Hat marketing team:
Why didn't we think of this?! What can we charge the customer? Can we do a 3-for-1 bundle? Does it have to be white, or can we make a pink version for the ladies? Do the focus groups suggest we stick with cotton, or is there a more preferred material?
My take on this Hank Aaron thing:
1) It is an 'old man' thing. No offense to old men, but we can all agree the memory does fade in time. For Hank to reference the KKK, a Democrat organization, in a criticism of the Republicans is lacking... a lot. It is only his name that made this national news. Anybody else would have been dismissed as a blithering idiot.
2) Hank has followed Colin Powell down the partisan, racist, I've-got-too-much-time-on-my-hands path. Like Colin Powell, Hank Aaron was once a solid role-model of an individual with values, accomplishments and stature.
