Libertarians of the World, Unite!

ReasonTV:
Thousands celebrated their independence over the Fourth of July weekend by attending the first ever marijuana farmers' market in the Los Angeles community of Boyle Heights.

Pot head Libertarians who think they are advancing medicine with marajuana are like lazy liberals who think they'll be better at running healthcare.  For both, it is easier than going to medical school.

I am not a pot user, but I am of the view that a hard working, responsible, taxpaying adult should be able to do what he or she wants in the privacy of their own home or business without government interference. Of course HWRTA leaves out most of the Left, so I don't know how that would work there. That being said, it annoys the crap out of me that someone identifies themselves as a libertarian simply because they want marijuana legalized. More then likely they are a leftist who thinks that is the only, thing the government should stay out of.

Of course, the DEA and other law enforcement agencies are not going to let this movement progress without a fight. It is not that they care about the health and welfare of the American people: it is because their power, perks and pensions depend on the "war on drugs" going on forever. In fact, there are only two groups that benefit by pot remaining illegal: the drug lords and American law enforcement. Everyone else suffers.

Comrade RobertW, You'll want to click through my Libertarian posts to understand my criticism of the movement. This post just adds to the others, rather than being a stand-alone post.

For me, beer never tasted as good as it did before I turned 21. If someone wants to take a substance, they are free to do so. They should know the consequences and be smart enough to get away with it.

This problem I have with Libertarians is their desire to run counter of parents in the values arena. Their push for legalizing all substances (they only talk about pot because it polls well) is an affront to parents whose job is to teach right from wrong.

TWO: the number of Libertarians I've met who are married with kids. About 2%. Why?

I understand liberals. They are driven by envy and resentment. They want to tell me what I can keep and what I must give to the govt. Then they want to tell me how to spend what they let me keep. I enjoy mocking them, which is the mission of Ushanka.

Libertarians bug me because a) they are knowledgeable and passionate about the Constitution, yet b) advocate for policies that will fail and lead to anarchy. I enjoy mocking them. And, I worry not about a political movement whose primary recruit is a pot head.
