Quote of the Day

From FB Comrade and hat owner, Kenn:
In the last 69 years since D-Day, there have been only four occasions when the President of the United States chose not to visit the D-Day Monument that honors the soldiers killed during the Invasion.

Those occasions were:

1. Barack Obama, 2010

2. Barack Obama, 2011

3. Barack Obama, 2012

4. Barack Obama, 2013

This year we mark the 70th anniversary. Where will Obama be this year?

Can we all agree that when Democrats say they "support the troops," that the statement is a gimmick meant to deflect criticism for over 50 years of abuses, either for political gain or out of spite?

Except that it isn't true. I'm no Obama fan, but facts are facts. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/dday.asp

Divemedic: Thanks for leaving the comment and link. I checked your source out. Would you agree to my reactions:

1) I did not see any "facts" at the link.

2) The site wants to address this "myth" with definitions of what exactly is a D-Day visit by a President. Normandy vs. the US graveyard, or some other D-Day site there on the coast of France. By some definitions, the site argues (poorly) that there were other years without a presidential tribute.

3) What was missing: "Here is a photo of Obama on June 6, 2010 at the ____ D-Day site."

4) What was missing: "Here is a photo of Obama on June 6, 2011 at the ____ D-Day site."

5) What was missing: "Here is a photo of Obama on June 6, 2012 at the ____ D-Day site."

6) What was missing: "Here is a photo of Obama on June 6, 2013 at the ____ D-Day site."

DiveMedic, will you send me photos of Obama at any D-Day site on June 6th in any of the past 4 years? I'll post immediately and correct the record.
