Since I am in politics, there is one phrase coined by our Founding Fathers that really strikes me. When they founded this nation, they set out to create a “more perfect Union.” The important distinction in this phrase is that our Union is not perfect. More than 225 years later, despite so much change, this is still true. It is likely that we will never achieve absolute perfection, but I believe that the heart of American exceptionalism is that we never stop trying. If history is any guide, the forces for progress always succeed eventually, no matter how formidable their opposition is. Our fight is not merely for new gun control measures or even new mental health programs. It is for the creation of an even more perfect Union.Kevin Sutherland on race relations and the SC church shooting:
That is why I am a liberal. . .
In my opinion there are few things that are more offensive to the victims of this crime than refusing to address the racism, much of which is institutionalized, glorified and celebrated in the South (including with the help of symbols like the Confederate flat), that cultivated this incident.Kevin (right), a Democrat Party operative, was stabbed (40x) to death on a DC Metro train on July 4th by Jasper Spires (left).
I am posting FYI only. I have no comment.
However, if you want to buy me a drink I could probably come up with something.

The progressives always reap what they sow. Couldn't happen to a more deserving creature. I am sure his husband will mourn.
This made me smile.
Sounds like a good start on a solution to the problem.
While his death saddens me, it's a stark reminder that reality will always trump the cosmic white mindset.
good riddance
You know, if Kevin had a Confederate flag tattoo on his arm; he may have been left alone; bypassed for "easier prey" - because, after all, why would Treyvon (sorry, Jasper...) want to eff with someone who might kick his ass? Or, what if Kev was a CCW holder, with a modicum of training? I bet between stab #1 and stab #2, Jasper would have been ventilated.
Comeuppance is a true Southern thing, as in "you're gonna git what's comin' to ya..."
Funny ol' world, isn't it? - Grandpa
If Mr. Sutherland had survived, I wonder if this would have changed his view on the merits of gun control versus being able to defend himself? If he was carrying a firearm or some other method to effectively defend himself, he might have been able to tell us.
No, if Kevin had survived this brutal attack, he would have pontificated on how it was 'societies' fault that Jasper had been driven to do such a thing as to stab him. The liberal will never, ever blame the perp who is actually responsible. Likewise, the perp is never responsible for his own actions, either.
Now to just give the joker the did him 41 and everything will be square ;)
So did jasper do something wrong?
Lets post bond and get this dude some subway fare
A 'more perfect union" is a noble goal, however unachievable. But the Bill of Rights is essential to its pursuit. That includes the right to self-defense with a firearm. We can not legislate away the Evil in men's hearts, nor stand by and allow ourselves or neighbors to be slaughtered by subway vermine (of any color). I recently rode on the DC Metro. Most people had there eyes glued to a PDA, oblivious to there surroundings. Military men in uniform, though, maintained a situational awareness that was preventative of this kind of incident.
I wonder if his last thought was "Thank goddess it's not a gun!"
Yes if Kevin had lived he would have defended his attacker to the hilt. It is our fault we caused the attacker to behave the way he did with our own intolerance bigotry and hate. He would say yes his actions were wrong, but poverty American Racism and White privilege caused it. He understands and forgives him. He would kiss his feet if possible
