Soviet Photos

English Russia has a 10-page photo album of photos from the Soviet Union.  From 1917 - 1940.  Most are propaganda, but some others seem authentic.

Here is Lenin's wife, Krupskaya, in 1929.  Lenin had been dead for 5 years by then.  She is meeting with the women's workers union to, no doubt, announce the coming "summer of recovery."  Or maybe to explain Stalin's laser-like focus on the economy.

Can't you see the impact of 10 years of hope and change in their faces?

A second massive famine of Bolshevik rule will hit the country in the next year with 6 million dead.  Ah, but as Krupskaya's late husband once said, "you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs."

A little trivia for those of you who have grown bored with the Anthony Weiner scandal...

Krupskaya was one reason Stalin fell out of favor with Lenin.  When Lenin died, his wishes were to have Trotsky take over.  Trotsky was a guy who 'got things done.'  A doer.  Stalin was too, but there was a conversation between Stalin and Krupskaya when she was trying to keep Stalin from accessing the very ill Lenin.

Let's just say, Trotsky's stock went up because he never called Krupskaya a "syphilitic whore" to her face.

FB Conversation of the Day

Our Comrades at Real Soda, makers of the bourgeois soda Leninade, host the Facebook page, Leninade.

We used to sell Leninade with our Commie Obama hats, but we sold out several months ago.

So today Leninade posts the following public service announcement to the masses:
There is no "I" in KGB!
Not to be left out in the Siberian summer, loyal Leninade followers posted the following:

But there is an "I" in Leninism!

Actually, two "I"s in Leninism.  And then there's 3 "I"s in Marxism-Leninism!

...the KGB has "I"s everywhere.  Stay cautious, my komrades...

We still include this side placard with every hat.

Quote of the Day

Charles Payne, via Doug Ross, responding to Obama's excessive use of the word "inequality" in his recent speech on the economy:

He talked about [income inequality] being morally wrong. You know, Stuart, if you and I entered this building and there were different rules for each of us, that would be morally wrong. But if I dropped out of high school and smoked weed all day and you worked your way through college and made more money than I did, that's not inequality, that's just.

---

In my mind -- and I hate to say this -- I think President Obama would love to see civil unrest in this country very much like the Arab Spring. I think what he's trying to do is to spark this revolution against the wealthy, against the "One Percent" who are holding us back, who are hoarding this money...

For liberals and establishment GOP'ers, please use our email address at the left to send us your apologies for when you attacked us for calling out Obama's Liberal Progressive Communist inspirations.  And don't miss your chance to buy a Commie Obama hat while we still have some in stock.

Friday Afternoon Cigar

We smoked another Nub Connecticut as we pondered today's news.

Apparently, our Attorney General has written a letter to the Soviets Russians promising not to execute or torture NSA whistle-blower Snowden if they return him to the US.

It has been about two to two and a half months since Snowden blew his whistle.

Should we assume it takes negotiations that long before the US will put such a promise in writing?  And from what position did the US start negotiating?

One can only imagine Snowden experiencing the same fate as Soviet defector Walter Krivitsky, whose body was found with three suicide letters.

Discovering Fred Reed

[orig post 7.18 7pm]

We found Fred Reed's site yesterday through another of our favorite blogs.  A writer with numerous articles at his site and books at Amazon.  Also, he was a Marine in our last war with Communists.

We read his Zimmerman article last night - a taste:

Of course racism was involved in the shooting. The prosecution established this beyond doubt. Trayvon referred to Zimmerman as a “creepy-ass cracker,” “cracker” being a highly pejorative term for low-class whites living in decaying trailers in the pine barrens and Everglades of Florida. So Trayvon, a racist, didn´t like white people. So what? Most blacks don´t.

We then bought his 2002 book, Nekkid In Austin.

It is refreshing to find someone more skilled in sarcasm and unrestrained thought than us who feels the same way about our country.  We've added his site, Fred on Everything, to our blogroll and encourage you to take a gander.

Here is a part of his Foreword in Nekkid In Austin, a collection of essays:

As empires die, the barbarians usually gather at the gates, preparing a final rush.  Unfortunately our savages are already inside.  They are in the public schools, the universities, and downtown in the cities.  They make our movies, set social policy from afar, instill appropriate values in our children.  They do not know that they are savages.  They now rule us, and there is nothing we can do about it.
Except watch.  Vast disasters make splendid theater.  This one is going to be a doozy.

Fred's Amazon Page - His Kindle books are only $2.99!

UPDATED and BUMPED 7.24 10pm:

We've added Fred's book, Nekkid In Austin, to our Library section to the left.  We've also put a link to our Book Notes there.

UPDATED 7.25 10am:

We mentioned in the linked Book Notes that Fred reminded us of our late comrade, Crazy Uncle.  This was something we wanted to include here in our post too, as Crazy Uncle family visit often.

America is lucky to have men like Fred and Crazy Uncle who don't fall into the nuance crap of what is otherwise everyday life.  Let's call out real problems.  Let's find real solutions regardless of the outrage their suggestion causes.  Let's stomp out the failure that is liberalism run amok.

U/T: FB Comrade David

Hammer, Sickle, Healthcard

A FB Comrade just posted this photo.

It's going to take the libs a while before they fully appreciate this lady's sign.  In the coming months, many will lose their health insurance.  And being libs, they will wonder why.

Then, a year or two from now, these same libs will meet their local Commissar of Health Benefits to schedule a checkup with their doctor nurse practitioner.  Again, they will scratch their heads and wonder why it seems a bit harder to get a blood test and prescription refilled.

Five years further, or maybe twenty for the younger libs, they will require a medical procedure to function or live. They will go through a process to determine the severity of their case and to determine the number of remaining productive tax-paying years they have left if they indeed did get the procedure. This process is for the greater good.

They will then be put on a list, because that is fair, and wait for their procedure.  For example, the average wait in Britain and Canada for a hip replacement is 18 months.  Only then will these libs realize how long 18 months is when they get to feel the grind of bone-on-bone.

It is at that point we'd say "Welcome to the Republican Party," but alas, the Republican Party will only be a memory at that point.

This image is from our current meme contest:

Danger Is My Last Name

Men unable to control their sexual urges are not necessarily Democrats.  But, at least in this area, the Democrats set the higher standard.

Some are comparing Weiner to Clinton, and their wives to eachother too.  Those are fair comparisons, but a lot has changed in 15 years.  At least in these two areas:
1)  Values.  We'd argue the American electorate had higher standards for behavior in the 90's than they do now, and a lower threshold for the in-your-face media coverage of sex news.

2) Social Media.  Americans with compelling opinions have a national voice via social media, where in the 90's we recall turning to George Will and other pseudo-conservatives on the Sunday shows to voice our disgust.
One factor suggests Weiner will get a pass.  The other offers the possibility that he'll suffer pressure from too many fronts.  Of course we are hoping for the latter.

So the big news isn't that Weiner has issues.  We knew that a year ago.  What is new is the Carlos Danger moniker.  Conservative bloggers and Facebook'ers are running with this one.  Let's see where it goes.

The tragedy of this story isn't Weiner's marriage.  Like the Clintons, they have no family values and find no problem with this story other than the impact it may have on their political ambitions.  Watch for Huma to announce another pregnancy.

The real tragedy is that Carlos Danger is screwed if he isn't elected mayor of New York.  Like all Democrats, he has no skills and could do nothing else that comes with a steady paycheck.  And worse, nobody is hiring.

Helen Thomas, GTH

The Post Dispatch says she asked the "unasked questions."

Like, is that oven too hot?  Or, is that shower too gassy?

No doubt she had some redeeming qualities, but you'll have to go elsewhere to find those.

The YouTube video that exposed this leftist journalist as a racist.

Unfortunately, there is a long line of leftist racist journalists to take her place.

UPDATED 7.22 6pm:

WSJ's Taranto is also disgusted by the over-the-top fawning of the late Thomas.
No doubt it's rude to rebut a eulogy, and even we must acknowledge that Helen Thomas was a lively and entertaining character. But she was also an exponent of hateful views and crackpot conspiracy theories. Her admirers commit a serious moral error in downplaying that aspect of her career.

Ushanka Day of Smug

We are quite proud of ourselves for our Zimmerman Riot Predictions posted on Thursday.

We'll be taking a page out of the Liberal Progressive Communist Manifesto and will be walking around with a smug look on our face for the rest of the day.  It'll be easy, as we had a great night's sleep on the night following the Zimmerman verdict.

Our prediction was only on the quality and quantity of riots.  But what was the reason that we didn't have any riots last night?

We've come up with four possibilities, with the help of Ushanka Comrade Mikhail out in the great state of Kansas:

1) The community most prone to riot has become more educated and aware of the legal considerations in this case, and have therefore concluded that Zimmerman should be acquitted.

2) The community most prone to riot has become apathetic as a result of heavy welfare spending.  With subsidized housing, food, transportation, cell phones and EBT benefits, the reason to riot is wanting.

3) The community most prone to riot has lost the skills necessary to loot and burn.  It has been over 21 years since the LA riots and, apparently, the elders in the community most prone to riot have not passed on the lessons from their past successes.

4) Or perhaps the government's Chem Trail program has taken the fight out of the community most prone to riot.  Any Alex Jones fans want to vote for this one?

Mikhail urges us to give the community most prone to riot one more chance.  Maybe tonight is the night?

Saturday Afternoon Cigar

Memory Lane

We were killing some time at the rifle range today and found a stack of early 90's American Rifleman magazines.

In August 1991, the NRA was warning of "anti-gun fever" in Congress.  Aren't you glad this issue no longer plagues the national dialogue?

Also in that year, a proposed anti-gun law - S.1241, The Biden Semi-Auto Ban - was under consideration.  We know our VP is a big shotgun fan, so we assume his semi-auto ban didn't impact the rights of shotgun owners.

Zimmerman Riots - Our Prediction

They fail.

Spectacularly.

Why?

Because any riot that occurs will be a government operation led by community-organizing Democrats within the the multi-layered funk of Obama's bureaucratic Federal government.

Sure, they'll have the race-baiters and New and Improved Black Panthers - now with more anger!  Sure, they'll bus in some useful idiots using tax-payer dollars.  Sure - something will happen if Zimmerman is found innocent.  The table has been set.

But whatever happens, it'll be a pathetic and impotent display of faux anger because it will be a government operation.

And we say this with full historical knowledge that Liberals Progressives Communists ALWAYS show their best results when it comes to putting down their ideological opponents.  Meeting production requirements or solving problems - not so much.  But the trains to the Archipelago were standing room only and always left on time.

People's Cube (source for image below):  Community Relations Agitational Services sent to FL
Doug RossSUPER: Holder DOJ Helped Organize Threat of Race Riots to Prevent Zimmerman Acquittal

What has been missing in the MSM's coverage incitement:

1) The White-Hispanic community's threats to riot if Zimmerman is found guilty,
2) The dramatic drop in crime in Zimmerman's neighborhood since the shooting,
3) The revelation that skittles are a gateway to smoking pot and beating Crazy Ass Crackers in their own neighborhood (See Photos),
4) The US's slide towards Britain where defense against violent criminals is a criminal offense,
5) The facts of the case.

"Go To Where People Are"

For the Zimmermans in the Ushanka audience, we suggest they consider going "to where people are" when this show trial is exposed as the farce it is and Zimmerman is found innocent.

Quote of the Day

Pat Condell, one of the last of the great Brits, to those indoctrinated students who embarrass us all:

At the 1:29 mark:
There is nothing liberal, intelligent, enlightened, civilized, or progressive about shutting somebody up because you don't want others to hear their opinions.
Who are you to decide who should and shouldn't be heard?

If not liberal or progressive, then what?  Communist, perhaps?

We Got a Hat Tip!

Diann, a hat-owning, book-writing, blog-posting, photoshop-photo'ing comrade in arms took our suggestion for a movie poster and posted at RightSnark.  How cool is that!?

Go to RightSnark to see all of her other work.  And buy a book too!

Free Hat Offer - 40 Days for Name Calling

Seventeen year veteran DC police officer, Christopher Picciano, has been suspended for 40 days without pay for "conduct unbecoming an officer."

His conduct - name calling.

No - he didn't call the President "Hitler," or write a book or movie script about the President's assassination.

Officer Picciano either "liked" or posted the photo above on his Facebook account.  The suggestion is that President Obama - who nationalized 2/3 of the auto industry, 100% of the student loan industry, and 100% of the health care industry - is a "communist."

Washington Post:

...was found guilty of posting a derogatory job description on social media and depicting the president as a communist...

This begs the question: What would the suspension be if officer Picciano chose to ignore orders to disarm DC citizens of their lawfully owned firearms?

If officer Picciano chooses to enjoy his 40 days off with a road trip, we encourage him to come through SW Ohio.  We'll buy him dinner, give him a tour of the hat factory, and put a furry Commie Obama hat on his head.

We encourage our Ushanka comrades to re-evaluate their use of social media.

Quote of the Day

Photo and quote from Sunshine Mary and the Dragon, via the Captain, reporting on the Texas Abortion debate specifically, and feminism in general:

...when you really boil feminism down to its rebellious essence, it is a movement to free women from all expectations that they have any obligation to men and children.  You will notice that the reverse is not true: men and children in the feminist world exist to serve women.  Men are still expected to provide the resources and protection (but instead of directly, they are supposed to do it indirectly by routing their tax money through the government to women in the form of student loans, welfare, or one of the other myriad government programs that serve women’s interests), while children exist to provide ego gratification.

Excellent write-up - be sure to read it all!

Independence Day

We checked all the blogs for the best Independence Day post.

Nothing compared to this link from a FB Comrade: How to Thank a Soldier, By George W. Bush.

Go there now and check out the photos!

Fellow conservatives, you may be one of the many who have been trained by the MSM to find fault with our former President.  To qualify any positive statement about the man or his policies or decisions.  Stop it.  Reject this communist revisionist bullshit, as we have.  State your opinion without the "Except for his ____ decision I liked his ___..." beginning, or the so-called required "but" after the compliment.

Continue this abhorrent habit and you are just a tool of the left.

Every president makes bad decisions.  Have you ever wondered why you are compelled to voice your opinion of those you see in GW, but not others?

Give us the power and reach of the media, and we'll turn the tables.  To say something about Comrade Obama, we'd train the masses to say something like these examples:

"Well, he meant well, but I wasn't happy about ObamaCare passing with zero Republican votes and several purchased Democrat votes."

"He really lost my support after turning his back on that ambassador's 8 hours of pleas for help."

"I was excited about having a black president, but not one who reads my email."

"I'd probably have more good things to say about him, but I've been out of work far too long to believe it is my fault."

Future generations of Americans, assuming there will be any, will have a very easy way to evaluate their President.  Whether it is a sense of class and respect, faith in America, faith in God, or loyalty to the troops - all future Presidents will now be measured in comparison to George W. Bush.

Happy Independence Day.  May we have many more.
