No Surprise Here

A union boss who comes into the office for two hours a day, racks up $1400 in union food expenses a month, and spends his office time doing "power naps."  Yep.

Meet Mark Rosenthal, President of Local 983 of District Council 37: New York's largest blue-collar municipal-workers union.  From their website:
Our members are dedicated and hardworking. Day in and day out, we provide the services that make the City of New York one of the best in the world.
---
United in DC 37, we are a mighty and powerful force to be reckoned with.

But don't single Mr. Rosenthal out.  Do you think any of the other union bosses are any different?

This has been going on since Karl Marx.  Marx sat around while his kids either died from neglect or suicide.  The man who first penned, "Workers of the World, Unite!" was a fat, lazy slob just like Mr. Rosenthal.

While Mr. Rosenthal "Power Naps" (his words, in his defense), the workers of the municipal workers union are working paying into Mr. Rosenthal's salary and food expenses.

The man needs to rest, as he is no doubt a ferocious advocate for worker's rights every time the union contract comes due.

Funny photos, but no surprise at all.  Read more, and see more power nap photos, at The New York Post.
