They want to be treated fairly, allowed to grow in their profession, and earn the maximum compensation for their skills and effort. This is why Marx was wrong when he predicted Communism would take hold first in a developed country like Germany or the US. It didn't and never will. Communism only emerges at the end of a gun within undeveloped countries where "from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs" doesn't apply. Don't get me started.
