Now Baltimore

The areas of the city - where most families do not include fathers - caught fire last night.

Hey!  Who said this?  (answer at the bottom)
These Negroes, they're getting pretty uppity these days and that's a problem for us since they've got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we've got to do something about this, we've got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference. For if we don't move at all, then their allies will line up against us and there'll be no way of stopping them, we'll lose the filibuster and there'll be no way of putting a brake on all sorts of wild legislation. It'll be Reconstruction all over again.

UPDATED 11:30am:

A thought occurred to me:
One of the first items to be looted in Ferguson were hair extensions.  In Baltimore, it was toliet paper.

Does this mean Baltimore thieves don't use hair extensions, and that Ferguson thieves don't use...  oh gross!

You have the right to destroy property if you're upset
You don't have the right to refuse to bake a cake

UDPATED Noon:

Excellent question posted at FB:
How much of the ‪#‎BaltimoreRiots‬ were coordinated on social media by using Obama phones?
I don't know the number, but I can take a stab at the percentage...

Toilet paper? Can't be purchased w-EBT
Just food, ie: lobster, steak, arugala, but no paperwork.

They probably stole the toilet paper because they didn't know what it was and thought it was some kind of food.

I think Anon and Robert are both on to something in their comments above. But I'm leaning towards a new theory:

Hope and Change turned into a bad case of dysentery.

I'll be proven correct if future looting targets antibiotics.

Dysentery and Change. Har! Although you do need to change a lot if you have dysentery. I suspected right away the quote was LBJ's. I wonder what his thoughts would be if he came back today to see what his Great Society had wrought?
