Cartoon of the Day

Comrade Branco:

For you trivia buffs:  2016 will be the third presidential election where the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) has not run a candidate.

Apparently... Not a Joke

Politico: Kasich lashes out: ‘What has happened to the conservative movement?’

Apparently, this is not a joke.

Kasich really said it.

And the left-wing media jumped on it in an effort to confuse Republican voters.

I suspect this article has doubled Kasich's voter base.

To four.

Four people who either don't know what 'conservative' means, or four people who don't know Gov. Kasich embraced ObamaCare as Ohio's Governor.

There is too much waste:
Kasich is wasting space in the GOP field,
The Politico is wasting space on the Internet, and
For some unknown reason, I am wasting time on this.
I think I'm going to walk over to the Glorious Hat factory and give an enlightening speech on the Proletarian Rationale for Reduced-Calorie Meals.

UPDATED 10.29.15:

Gov. Kasich bombed in last night's CNBC debate.  Comrade Branco sums-up Kasich's candidacy with this today:

I created the "White Flag Spotting" label many years ago to track all the cartoons of liberals during the War on Terror.  But lately, it is Republicans who are inspiring white flags.

This, boys and girls, is called "Decline."

The Glorious USPS

Few things are as exciting as buying a Glorious Hat.  We here at the Glorious Hat factory take pride in our mockery epicness as one of the last capitalist ventures in the former US of A.

Our motto:

We'll turn the lights as the last
private sector company to fold.

Our team spends hundreds of hours brainstorming how we can make the hat-buying experience even better.  One such initiative has been to have Glorious Hat strictly delivered by US Postal Service (USPS) employees.  You can't get any closer to the proletarian spirit than to have a government-run organization assign their slowest to deliver hats.  With DVD rentals long since past, delivering Glorious Hat is all that is left for them to do.

The USPS has a long history of setting the bar lower with each postage price increase.  (When was the last time you heard of a postman going "postal?")  So, as disappointing as it was this week to hear about this 14-day delivery (above), our team wasn't completely surprised.  You see, the workers of the world, at least at the USPS, have a new motto now:

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night
stays these couriers from the swift completion of
lunch, diversity training, sick time, and mandatory breaks.

Stay tuned comrades:  We are currently brainstorming an Amtrak role in the Glorious Hat distribution plan.

At Glorious Hat, the Comrade is always right!

And this comrade has received a full refund.

The Hat in Chicago

Author Ann Sterzinger is our latest Ushanka Babe, as she models Glorious Hat with the FORWARD placard.

As you can see, it is nearly November in her Utopian home town of Chicago, and the hat is all one needs to stay warm!

Ann is co-host to Comrade and fellow author, Matt Forney, on his podcast (iTunes).  They are an entertaining duo covering current events and trends, including cultural marxism.

Pics of the Day

Sorry for the lack of posts comrades.  I have been busy working on my speech for The MoveOn Speechwriter's Club on the topic of "The Proletarian Distribution of Food to the Revolutionaries of the EBT Class Struggle."  I hope you'll come by the Union hall to listen.

In the meantime, please consider laughing at these two brilliant memes:

On Location: Wrigley Field

The Cubs are down to the Mets 3-0 and game #4 starts in mere moments.  The Mets are right where we want them!

Comrade Zhukov and I are at Wrigley tonight for the Big Turn-Around rout of the century.  And Comrade Forney will be in attendance!

Murphy, that f**king goat, that has ruined so many lives, is long dead.  Although he still votes in Chicago and is rumored to support his fellow hooved commie, Hillary . . .

Zhukov and I packed our car earlier today for the drive to the nation's second largest gun-free zone - where our safety is guaranteed by Democrats.  I think we're ready . . .

We were sitting in the car . . .
Karl:  It is 300 miles to Wrigley Field. we have a full tank of gas, it is dark outside, and we're wearing sunglasses.

Zhukov:  Hit it.

I packed some of my favorite tunes for the trip.

Zhukov and I will be frequenting the Wrigley bars.  We'll be watching the game on TV . . .  just like the Cardinals.

Congratulations to the 2015 Cubs.  No matter what happens this week, it was a great year.

"Was all this due to incompetence or nihilism?"

Comrade and author Matt Bracken shared this post on FB by Victor Davis Hanson: Obama: Nihilist or Just Incompetent?

A great summary of the Obama administration with one year left, including a review of foreign policy fumbles and a list of "Three things so far have saved Obama’s otherwise unfortunate tenure."

#3:
. . . Obamism is proving finite. Yes, this is the Obama era of intolerant imposition of gay marriage by court fiat, the selling of fetal limbs by Planned Parenthood, Climate Change McCarthyism, Black Lives Matter / Hands Up, Don’t Shoot mythologies, “Punish Our Enemies” ethnic smearing, state-ministry journalism, and Sanctuary City neo-Confederate nullification. But in the process, Obama has nearly destroyed the Democratic Party — and all but turned it over either to a veritable crook and has-been or a 73-year-old self-described socialist. He lost both houses of Congress. The legislatures and governorships are overwhelmingly Republican. He turned off millions of working-class old-time Reagan Democrats. His new paradigm — demagogue minorities to vote en bloc in record numbers by any means necessary and screw those turned off by his separatist rhetoric — is probably not transferrable to other Democratic candidates.
As a bonus, Professor Hanson includes this white flag image from PJ Media.

Russia's Goal In Syria UPDATED and BUMPED

[orig post 10.1.15 10am]

Do you remember when the hippies, members of the UN, and other enlightened anti-war and anti-US liberals progressives communists said the US was going to war in the Middle East because of oil?  That, comrades, with the benefit of hindsight, is called "projecting."

Why is Russia in Syria?  It isn't to embarrass the US.  Embarrassing Obama, or any Democrat for that matter, in the area of foreign policy is not what one would call a "challenge."

Other geo-political reasons aside, the reason is oil.  The reason is Russia's survival.

Russia, dependent on oil more than anything else, needs a higher oil price - ASAP.

Turmoil in the Middle East translates into higher oil prices.

Apparently, one Russia airstrike = 4% increase in oil.

Russia will need to turn it up a bit to get the 100% increase they need to break even.

Rush Goes There

Rush is a businessman first, and a political guru second.  He knows his audience and prioritizes his message to them, and only shares his opinion where it fits.  His success comes from this elegant balance, but this moderation of his message is also the reason I stopped listening to him.

Rush rarely uses the label "Communist" when he refers to his political opponents.  Probably a good strategy, as he has roughly 25 million more followers than Ushanka.  Give or take.

So it is noteworthy when he 'goes there,' as he did this week with a caller.  He includes this image in his post.

Syria

I have been struggling to understand the situation in Syria.

Chemical weapons?  US support for ISIS?  Is Assad now a good guy, or a bad guy like Qaddafi?  Will Syria without Assad look like Libya does now that we removed Qaddafi?  Is there any chance Obama won't f**k up whatever he is doing there?  Is there any chance he'll ask Congress (the People's representatives) to endorse his strategy?  Will he ever qualify his statement that US involvement in Syria's civil war is a "national security priority."

Vox has an excellent video on this.  Short.  Simple.  Long overdue.

Trump Says the "C" Word...

... just seven years after we started selling this:

I wish I could be that far ahead of him on investing!

Let the truth come out.  Tell the masses Citizen Trump!
I watched Hillary last night with, “We’re gonna give this. We’re gonna give this.” The poor woman she’s got to give everything away because this maniac that was standing on her right is giving everything away so she’s following. That’s what’s happening. This Socialist slash Communist. OK. Nobody wants to say it.

GOP Rankings Report - Oct 15

Here is the latest Ushanka GOP Rankings Report.

These scores are calculated from twenty strict conservative values, with rankings of 0-3, in the areas:
1) Executive experience,
2) Campaign focus on the Democrats,
3) Domestic Policy promises (11),
4) Foreign Policy promises (6), and
5) Evidence of conservative ideology.

As to #2 in the list above, all candidates were issued a top value of three except John Kasich for his recent juvenile response to Republican critics (zero), and to Jeb Bush for his recent attempt to embarrass Trump (zero).

You can see the full criteria for this report - here.

New Domestic Policy item:  Repeal Dodd-Frank.

Brilliant!  Thank you Donald Trump for bringing this up and for promising to pursue the repeal of this deadly legislation.

Dodd-Frank was the last nail in the economic coffin that started in the early 90's with the government's push for banks to give loans to people who have a history of not paying their debts.  AKA, Subprime.  I was on the ground in Los Angeles during and after the 1992 riots.  The lead message after LA's inner-city black community destroyed the area businesses was "dignity."  As in, we have no dignity because we 1) aren't represented in TV and movies, 2) don't have grocery stores in our neighborhoods, and 3) banks won't loan us money for homes.  The bleeding hearts prevailed, the most recently impeached president was elected, the government backed bad loans, and Dodd-Frank crippled our banks.

This campaign promise is now #11 in the Domestic Policy section of Ushanka's GOP Rankings Report.  Trump is the only candidate on record, so far, as promising to pursue the repeal of Dodd-Frank.

Dropouts:

The two GOP dropouts came from the top rankings.  I would like to see future dropouts come from the bottom of the graph, as that would suggest a more conservative interest in the Republican voters.

Disclosure:

My guy dropped out.  I do not support anyone in this race, and the chart above is as objective as I can get.

I expect by the time the Ohio primary comes around, I may not have much of a choice, as it appears Trump is dominating and may be the only candidate left.  I prefer a choice in the primaries, but I also prefer the GOP candidates show up to win.  Only Trump appears to have such a strategy.

Wednesday Afternoon Cigar UPDATED

A Rocky Patel Sun Grown burned in celebration of:
1) The Chicago Cubs playing in October, and
2) Ushanka's Nine Year Anniversary.

We made some noise today.  If there is better therapy than one can do with their clothes on, I have yet to discover it.

As to Ushanka's Ninth anniversary, I didn't prepare a speech.  But let me say this:
There is no greater pursuit than to defy the Communist agenda here in the states.  If you can have fun doing it, even better.  I enjoy it and will continue until I reach room temperature.  The dilution of traditional family values and religious values in order to prepare Americans for socialist servitude is the biggest threat we face.  I am honored to be one of the millions in this endless fight.
Here is the photo from our first cigar post back in 2006.  (Glorious Hat didn't exist until a year and a half later.)

CNN's DNC Debate

Democrats asking Democrats questions on Democrat TV.

I did not watch it.

Democrat diversity in 2016:  Run one devout Communist.  Run one criminal.  Run one moderate (Webb is the Lindsey Graham of the Democrat Party).  Run two people nobody has heard of.

I'm glad the Democrats have finally dropped race as their primary agenda...

In our Up-is-Down reality after 7 years of Obama, the Top Story according to Google News is the debate and The Washington Post's extensive 'analysis.'  If you want to get the latest on Iran's nuclear program, ISIS's battlefield successes, the latest country invaded by Russia, or who is leading the National League at the moment, you'll have to scroll down.

The best news out of the debate - for Democrats and for all of America: Biden didn't say one stupid thing.

Comrade Brano reduces the Democrat campaign to its core:

If there is still stuff to give away, you can bet the Liberals Progressives Communists in the Democrat Party will promise to give it away.

GOP Websites

My latest review of GOP candidate websites in preparation for Thursday's Ushanka GOP Rankings Report.

Very little has changed since my last report.

Jeb has added an Issues tab at his site.  I was wondering if he would get to that before dropping out.   Except for his promise to repeal ObamaCare, his Issues are more noise than promises.

Rubio has declared October "Policy Month."  I saw no changes to his Issues page other than this announcement.  Rubio's site has been in the top three since I started these reviews - up there with Paul and Huckabee for comprehensive positions on many issues.  I rated Rubio's site slightly higher in this review - a rating he should have had back in July.

For similar reasons I knocked Santorum's site down a notch.  He didn't have any changes since my last review, but his page is weaker than I originally gave him credit for.

Four of the fourteen GOP candidates - 29% -
do not have Issues tabs on their websites.

If you want to know where Cruz, Fiorina, Kasich or Pataki stand, you will have to dig through Google, YouTube and elsewhere to get your questions answered.  Is it not safe to assume, based on their vacuous websites, that a Cruz, Fiorina, Kasich or Pataki presidency will be a poorly managed mess that will put your interests in policy positions at the bottom of their list of priorities?

Of course, any of them would still be better than a Democrat.

Cubs

As I head out the door to watch game 3 of the Cubs-Cardinals series, tied 1-1, I ponder the moment.

According to the three Wiki links below:

The Cubs won their last championship five years and two months after this...

... but a full 20 years before this...

Some more Cubs trivia:

In 1906, the franchise recorded a Major League Baseball record 116 wins (tied by the 2001 Seattle Mariners) and posted a modern-era record winning percentage of .763, still held today. They appeared in their first World Series the same year, falling to their crosstown rivals, the White Sox, four games to two. The Cubs won back-to-back World Series championships in 1907 and 1908, becoming the first Major League club to play in three consecutive Fall Classics, and the first to win it twice.

The Wright brothers:

The Wright brothers, Orville (August 19, 1871 – January 30, 1948) and Wilbur (April 16, 1867 – May 30, 1912), were two American brothers, inventors, and aviation pioneers who are credited[1][2][3] with inventing and building the world's first successful airplane and making the first controlled, powered and sustained heavier-than-air human flight, on December 17, 1903.

Penicillin:

Penicillin was discovered in 1928 in England.

This post is dedicated to FB Comrade Michael, who will accuse me of jinxing the season with this post if they lose to the Cardinals.
