Fed Punts. Again.

Take your pick:
After another session of talking tough about the need to raise interest rates, the Fed once again decides "no" at the last second.

After months of being told the economy is booming, the Fed considers the economy too weak to bump the interest rate by 0.25%.

The Fed must keep the illusion that 'all is well' until their like-minded president leaves office.

The Fed gives Obama the green light to add more debt.

Headline of the Day

Breitbart:

‘No Borders’ Activist Gang Raped By Migrants,
Pressured Into Silence To Not ‘Damage Cause’
A young, female ‘No Borders’ activist working in a migrant camp on the France-Italy border remained silent about her gang rape by Sudanese migrants for over a month because “the others asked me to keep quiet.”

Colleagues are alleged to have said that reporting the crime would set back their struggle for a borderless world.
The ‘No Borders’ activist had dedicated a month of her life to helping migrants. Her group was stationed between Italy and France in Ponte San Ludovico in Ventimiglia when the atrocity occurred, according to reports from local papers La Stampa and Il Secolo XIX, and now reported in the major Italian national Corriere Della Serra.

One Saturday night, as loud music played at a nearby party, the woman was reportedly trapped in a shower block set up near the camp in a pine forest know as Red Leap.

A gang of African migrants allegedly raped her there, and her cries for help are said to have gone unheard because of the music.
Great coworkers she has there.

Or it may not...

Today's Washington Post:
The gruesome massacre of nine people at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, a historically black church in Charleston, S.C., may amount to the worst racially motivated terror attack of our generation and a deeply violent reminder that racism and white supremacy continue to course through America’s veins.
Or it may not....

No doubt, it is the worst race-based crime in the past week or so.

This is pretty simple.  I'm not defending the freak on psychopathic drugs who stole bought a gun to shoot his perceived enemies here.  I'm calling out liberal Karen Attiah, the WP writer, who, like all liberals all the time politicize tragedies in order to further their failed political ideology.  Their agenda includes gun control, white guilt, suppression of speech, and more.  It is a tough calling, and profitable.  It is also less painful than the alternative to admit that liberalism is nothing more than a trash heap of bankrupt ideas based on envy and resentment.

"Terrorism" is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Islam these days, but the word seems to be popping up lately whenever a white person commits a crime.  Keep and eye out for this.  I suspect it is all part of a plan.

The freak didn't kill 9 people to terrorize a community, he did it to kill 9 people.  Nobody is terrorized today by the SC church shooting.  Why?
1) These freaks on psychopathic drugs who gain illegal access to guns are a 1-2 time a year phenomenon, and even liberals like Karen Attiah know it.
2) Because any "terror" in Charleston ended the moment victim #9 was shot.  It was over.  If the Washington Post wants to know about terror, they should send their staff for a weekend in Chicago.  Any weekend.  Perhaps this weekend?
I predict the only "terror" will be shared by fellow shooting enthusiasts as we, once again, watch prices climb and supplies decline as Karen's dear leader tries and fails again to blame an inanimate object for the world's problems disarm his class enemies.  Aside from the 9 dead, their families, the members of the church, the Christians within that Charleston community and Washington Post reader(s), we are the only other victims.

Here are some locations of racially motivated attacks Karen may have missed in her research.  (No links - just click the Crisis as a Means label below to view our other 339 posts on these and related topics.)
Last week:
Fairfield, Ohio
McKinney, Texas

In the last year:
Baltimore, Maryland
Oakland, California
New York City
Ferguson, Missouri
Some article suggestions for Karen:
Write an article that has the tally of police officers murdered and wounded, businesses burned, hair-extensions stolen, and the hours of endless media coverage.  Include the total number of days since the first Ferguson race riot to the Charleston shooting.  Is it not newsworthy that with all the evil white people terrorists in America, it took over a year for the absolute weakest of them to snap?

Call this a creative writing exercise: Write different versions of your article but with a twist.  Twist #1: The gun was linked to Fast and Furious.  Twist #2: The murders happened in a synagog.  Twist #3: the murders happened in a mosque.  Twist #4: The murderer was black and targeted white people in a church.  Twist #5: the murderer obtained his gun legally and did not have a history of mental illness.  Twist #6: the Charleston shooter announces he identifies as black and was in the process of turning his life around.
An article with this title has been sorely missed:  Has the media been complicit in hiding an epidemic of black male violence in America?
Maybe an article titled: How Safe are Gun-Free Zones?   I'd suggest you contact John Lott for objective data on this subject.
How about an article on the impact of psychopathic drugs on society?  Karen, you could be the first to link these drugs to random mass shootings.  I suspect you could build a career on the depth of this subject alone.
It is ok if these articles never see the home page at The Washington Post.  America's bloggers - aka The New Media - will cover these topics in detail.

CORRECTED 6.19.15 3pm:

The news now states that the shooter bought the gun himself.  It was not a gift, nor was it stolen as previously reported.  I made the corrections above.

The significance of this new development is that the shooter had been arrested for drugs recently - a felony.  Current gun laws restrict selling guns to people who have had a felony arrest with a pending court case.  No so for the Charleston church shooter.

2nd Term

Comrades!  Today we begin the next Four Year Plan.

Words you will hear and headlines you will see as we toil in the coming years:

"We are turning the corner"

"I will not rest until everything is fair"

"It was worse than we thought"

"There are folks who are not doing their fair share"

"We must make sensible changes to food distribution"

"We must follow a balanced approach when we discuss gun rights"

"America must pay its bills"

"We've disabled the extreme blogs for the greater good"

We are keeping track of our dear leader's progress on the path to utopia in our Obama's To Do document.  This is a great tool for those who prefer to measure actual actions by this president instead of his words.

Palin, and Media Bias (UPDATED x 3 & Bumped)

The news today: Sarah Palin, Alaska's Govenor, is McCain's VP pick. WOW! We expected fireworks in Denver, and subdued enthusiasm in Minneapolis for our trip. The opposite will be true, and we can't wait!

We clicked to the first AP story by Liz Sidoti. Liz has been a regular "winner" here at Ushanka.us on our home page of biased MSM headlines. Her headline isn't what caught our attention, it was her content:

Palin is a self-styled hockey mom and political reformer who has been governor of her state less than two years.

We haven't seen Liz speak of Obama's 140 days in the US Senate.

In making his pick, Mccain passed over several more prominent prospects who had figured in speculation for months — Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge among them.

"More Prominent"? Was Biden "prominent"?

More recently, she has come under the scrutiny of an investigation by the Republican-controlled legislature into the possibility that she ordered the dismissal of Alaska's public safety commissioner because he would not fire her former brother-in-law as a state trooper.

Is this the best AP can do? We'll watch as the MSM tries to make this issue an equal to Rezko, Grove Parc, or Infanticide.

What Liz has done is show there will be no favorable MSM coverage of the GOP. Not even hours after the VP pick.

We'll keep track of this MSM bias on our home page. Your votes and comments on our headlines are appreciated.

UPDATE 8.30:

Our normal rate of biased headlines posted to our home page ranges from 1-3 per day. Last night we posted 8, most about Palin. Here are the "winners":

Newsweek: Alter: Why Sarah Palin Is Likely to Belly-Flop
CNN: Begala on Palin: Is McCain out of his mind?
MSNBC: Palin is McCain's Boldest Gamble
AP: Analysis: Palin's age, inexperience rival Obama's

That last headline might backfire...

Remember, these are the FIRST headlines about Palin from these media companies. Not one of the MSM outlets we track had a headline similar to "McCain picks Sarah Palin as his VP". Not one.

UPDATE 9.1:

The biased headlines keep coming in. Here are some more "winners":

NYT: News Analysis: Choice of Palin is Bold Move by McCain, With Risks
LA Times: McCain's choice of Palin is a risk
LA Times: Palin had risen quickly from PTA to VP pick
AP: Analysis: Palin could complicate energy debate

We're still waiting for news on America's newspapers, rather than opinion. You too?

UPDATE 9.7:

The headlines keep on coming! Here are some headlines we posted today to our home page:

CNN: Are women ready to back Palin?
AP: Analysis: GOP contradicts self on Palin family
AP: Pentecostalism obscured in Palin biography
Reuters: Sarah Palin controversy stokes Mommy War
AP: Analysis: McCain camp plays sexism card for Palin
NYT: Palin Disclosures Raise Questions on Vetting
Reuters: Palin "bridge to nowhere" line angers many Alaskans

MSM News

From EditorandPublisher.com:

The New York Times lost more than 150,000 copies on Sunday. Circulation on that day fell a whopping 9.2% to 1,476,400. The paper's daily circulation declined 3.8% to 1,077,256.
---
In Los Angeles, the Times lost more than 40,000 daily copies. Daily circulation there was down 5.1% to 773,884. Sunday declined 6.0% to 1,101,981.
---
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that daily circulation dropped 4.2% to 370,345, while Sunday dropped 3.0% to 424,603.
---
Daily and Sunday circulation at the Chicago Tribune both dropped 4.4% to 541,663 and 898,703, respectively.

Expect Ushanka.us to report losses soon if these trends continue. We'll then proceed to 'restructure' our operations and focus on our 'core' assets that 'differentiate' us from our MSM-bashing competitors. Karl will explain to shareholders (site members) that we are navigating the nadir, and a significant uptick is just around the corner in this cyclical blogging environment. In the meantime, ignore some of these suggested headlines for the MSM:

Poll: Bloggers less likely to survive recent NYT-Nat'l Enquirer merger
NYT consolidates media power by dropping unneeded deliveries
Obama: "I still read the New York Times, right after church"

NOW: "It is just about sex"

CPAC Roadtrip 2

We stopped at the Clinton Presidential Library on our way to CPAC with the assumption we'd cleanse ourselves in three days of conservatism. Then Romney dropped out and we spent three days at CPAC talking about McCain. Rule #1: Never assume.

So we visited the Shiloh Civil War Battlefield in Tennessee, where 3400+ died in two days of fighting. The picture above is the Hornet's Nest. The Ushanka is at the right edge of a 1 mile Union line that repelled the Confederates' eleven charges on April 6, 1862. This stand gave General Grant enough time to deploy two additional Union Armies for the April 7 Union victory.

Over 23,700 casualties in all, yet the war continued without any cries of "Quagmire!"

We wondered what the headlines would have been in April 1862 if today's "progressives" were there...

LA Times: Union Wins Despite Extended Supply Train in South
NYT, April 5: Union Army Defenses on West-East line, not North-South as thought
Reuters: One Man's Rebel is Another Man's Freedom Fighter
CNN Poll: 78% think war is mis-managed
President Hillary Clinton to General Grant: "We'll have to suspend belief when you speak"
President Barack Obama: "Hope and Change will get us through this war"
Analysis: Union Wins Shiloh, GOP Likely to Lose in Fall
Time: Can the Union Continue After Shiloh Losses?

(No placards on the hat in the picture. If a certain presidential candidate cannot bring himself to wear the US flag on his lapel, we are not going to disrespect the sacred ground with his name.)
