No Blog For You

We'll be spending our May Day week in the ultimate capitalistic fashion.  Blogging will be lighter than normal.

Look Left (but stay Right!):

In our absence, please visit those cool bloggers listed in our Blogroll to the left.

And read a book from our Library list - at the left.

Watch a movie from our Cinema section - at the left.

And don't forget to smoke one of those cigars listed in the Humidor section - yes, look left.

Farms and Child Labor

Our Dear Leader doesn't want kids working on farms.  Where was he when we were growing up in suburban Chicago and out picking beans in the hot dusty fields?

Oh ya, in the morning he was sitting in Reverend Wright's church just a few miles away.  Then on to Man's Country to relax (new website since our last visit - NSFW).

Our first impulse upon hearing about this new law was the union angle.  Get kids off the farms and put those hard-working union men and women in the fields.  (Along with a break area furnished with comfortable furniture and cold beverages and plenty of shade.  An on-site masseuse should be required for all farms over 5 acres.  An air-conditioned shuttle to move these honorable union members to and from the parking area.  What else did we miss?)

Our laziness in not identifying other reasons for this restriction has paid off.  As we have long known: if we wait long enough, Ann Barnhardt, owner of our fine hat, will tell us the full story.

Ann says there are three reasons to keep kids off of farms:

First, they want to eliminate the next generation of farmers and ranchers so that nationalization of all food production can be hastened and facilitated.

Second, they want to force farmers and ranchers to hire and employ unionized labor, who will then effectively dictate how and what farmers and ranchers produce, and eventually drive them into insolvency and government takeover (see General Motors, et al).

Third, they want to break the spirit of the young toward any desire to work, be productive or be independent. They want every single person to view work as something to be avoided at all costs, and total government support as the only "fair" lifestyle, to which they are "entitled".

What is my response to all of this? It is very simple, and I am being as serious as pancreatic cancer when I say this:

THIS IS WHY WE HAVE GUNS.

God bless Ann for linking a farm labor law to gun rights.

Well Ann, it may be why you have guns.  Unfortunately, we lost all of our guns in a freak boating accident and are currently unarmed.  We are now quite smug, act enlightened, and know that the government will take care of us in hard times.

U/T: Ann.

UPDATE 12:45:

IOTW is asking Ann to go on an Occupy vs. Tea Party show, and is asking for donations.  Link.

Breitbart UPDATED

[originally posted 3.1.12 at Noon]

Dead at 43.  How extremely sad.

How his friends at Big Hollywood remember him:

Here he is just a couple weeks ago.  This is how we choose to remember him:

Andrew Breitbart set the standard for the rest of us.

He was a wonderful leader who we'll never fully replace.

UPDATED 4.26:

Overheard in Tam's Hallway...

Tam: "The reason I'm more worried about tornadoes than FEMA death camps is because the government can't afford to pay the union labor to build the death camps."

RX: "It's a sad day when a government is too broke to exterminate its own people."

Mission Accomplished

The Liberals Progressives Communists in charge fear the armed citizen.

A conviction isn't possible in the Zimmerman case.  The next best thing is this picture at today's Drudge.

The goal of this Show Trial is for citizens to leave their guns at home, or to hesitate when a thug is bashing their head against the pavement.  To surrender.

Let this be another warning to the 100 million Americans who own over 300 million guns - you may have to  choose:

LIVE FREE OR DIE?

UPDATE 12:30:

Author and hat owner John Lott posts on Zimmerman bail.

Says Uncle reports that 100k concealed carry permits have been issued in Wisconsin.  They didn't get the memo...

And a friendly reminder found at Green Mountains Homesteading:

UPDATE 4.23:

Zimmerman makes bail - death threats continue.

Would there would be less death threats if these people were busy with jobs and raising 2-parent families?

Going too far

Some testimony from Norway killer Anders Behring Breivik's trial, as reported by The Guardian:

...insisting he was fighting against anti-European racism carried out by "the Norwegian media and the Marxist elites". He said: "I am not a racist. I am an anti-racist."
---
Says he shouted "You are going to die today, Marxists!" at the tent site.
---
Breivik says cultural marxists have subverted traditional gender models - "suddenly boys are supposed to start knitting & doing crochet"

It appears he dislikes Marxists.  And the cheese has long since slid off the cracker.

He should have 1) held a private-sector job, 2) raised many children in a loving home that includes traditional and religious values, and 3) started a blog that exposes Marxism for what it is - a failed ideology that relies on criminal acts to survive.

Those three things cause Liberals Progressives Communists more pain than the quick deaths he delivered to the wrong targets.

Crazy Unk Story

As many of you know, blogger and Ushanka-wearing CrazyUnk is doing to his cancer what the Gurkha's did to sleeping German soldiers in WWII.

You can always keep up to date with his treatment at his cancer blog, Not What I Wanted to Hear, Doc.

Chorus:

Mmm, maybe I'll be there to shake your hand
(Shake your hand)
Baby, I'll be there to share the land
(Share the land)
That they'll be givin' away
When we oughta live together
We're talkin' bout together, now

Maybe I'll be there to shake your hand
(Shake your hand)
Maybe I'll be there to share the land
(Share the land)
That they'll be givin' away
When we oughta live together
Together, together

CrazyUnk told me a story last week and I've been meaning to share it (with his permission).  We're always keen on stories where someone gets the commie smack against the head and learn that there are makers and takers in this world.  It is a moment where one must decide which type they will be.

As a boy, CrazyUnk had taken a liking to the song above - The Guess Who "Share the Land".  He was singing it one day as he was cleaning up his garage, and his father walked in.

CrazyUnk:  ...I'll be there to share the land...

Father:  Whose land will they share first?

The rest is history.  CrazyUnk joined the anti-communist crusaders that day, and we are lucky to have him on our side.

See you next week

We'll be offline for a few days.  Enjoy your weekend!

North Korea Missile Launch

Supposedly it didn't go as planned.  Unless a one-minute flight time was the plan.

CBS has the story.  We have the video:

Tyler at ZeroHedge:

Somebody is about to have their daily 5 gram portion of food cut in half as the local rocket no fly long time.

Maybe their 3rd nuke test will go better for them - expected soon.

They need to rattle some serious sabers in order to feed their people soldiers.

This is the 51st year anniversary of Yuri A. Gagarin's launch.  English Russia has a post today on Yuri's trip.

Show Trial

Then

Stalin's show trials put innocent people on trial.  They were labeled "wreckers" - those to blame for blocking Utopia.

Stalin's goons would falsify evidence in order to put the desired people on trial.

Prosecutors promised reduced penalties if the accused would go along with the false charges.

Promises were not kept.  People were executed.

The message was clear: Submit to Stalin or die.

Today

Obama's 1st show trial is putting an innocent man on trial for defending himself in an attack.

Obama's goons are falsifying evidence.  NBC falsified audio.  ABC falsified video.  NYT falsified the 911 transcript.  The race industry (Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, New Black Panther Party, Obama administration, etc.) are falsifying outrage.

Prosecutors will push for a plea-bargain.  In their eyes this is a win-win.  They get something on Zimmerman which sends a signal to other innocents who would defend themselves in an attack.  And the race-baiters can keep the masses enraged in order to use them as a threat against future targets.

Message: Crisis as a means will be used for political ends.

Prediction: This will be used in an attempt to eliminate self-defense options - concealed-carry, stand-your-ground, castle doctrine, etc.  See NY Mayor's recent statements.

Obama's America

Guilt is innocence.

Innocence is guilt.

The criminal is the victim.

The victim is the criminal.

Here is the prosecutor, Angela Corey, who is quoted as saying: "Let me emphasize that we do not prosecute by pressure or petition.  We prosecute cases based on the relevant facts of each case and on the laws of the state of Florida…."  Picture from Weasel Zippers.

Karl Denninger thinks she over-reached with the 2nd-degree murder charge.

Legal Insurrection - Perp Walk.

The Daily Caller has published some of Trayvon's Twitter comments from his account "NO_LIMIT_NIGGA":

We've updated our Obama Checklist with this show trial.

UPDATE 6pm

Scumf**k offers his take:

What we are seeing here, then, is the very mechanisms of our own eventual conviction.
---
Be grateful for this case, Mr. & Mrs. FREEFOR. It will show you who your enemies are...and how they will convict you, when the time comes.

UPDATE 9pm

Alan Dershowitz:  "Irresponsible.  Unethical.  Thin.  Consistent with self defense."

John Lott has three new self-defense stories.  It appears these Zimmerman smears are not causing people to hesitate in using deadly force.  Another Obama backfire.

New Blog Concept

Charleston Thug Life was launched on March 31.  They are going viral.

Citizens in Charleston are scraping the social media sites for the local criminal class.

Criteria: Local Facebook users who display gang affiliation, drug money and/or weapons.

The volume of screenshots is causing Internet brown-outs!

Hoping this concept goes viral.

What a great source for local law enforcement.

What a great activity for citizens who've been scared into their homes.

We look forward to the positive comments from Attorney General Eric Holder and President Obama!

BTW: Nice shout out to the liberal Charleston City Paper who is rather offended at a group of bloggers displaying photos that losers posted of themselves in public sites!

A recent comment in their latest post from visitor Dr Kranknstein:

While I know this is in no way shape or form meant to be a comedy blog, I have to say every time I come here I get a great laugh.

These clowns are just shit stains on the adult diaper of life.

The fact that almost assuredly most are felons and still post pics with them holding firearms is just a testament to the outstanding amount of stupid we are dealing with.

RNC: Inconsistent

The people behind this exceptional, hard-hitting video are the same who have openly supported Mitt Romney during a primary when their objectivity was expected.

There were other candidates who better matched this message.

The strategy of the Republican Party appears inconsistent.

Will nominee Romney be able to match this anger?

Will he match and effectively communicate this frustration?

Comment at Weasel Zippers post by Katherine:

I suspect these fools consider themselves proles…even though they’ve never worked a day in their lives…..and don’t plan on working one in the future….

Yep, the Communist Party, the Obama Administration and Leftist Academia has really created quite a bunch of shiftless zombies, who spew their Marxist ideology without even the slightest idea of what it really means.

I wish someone could drag them back in time to 1918 Russia and force them truly experience the inception and the result of their demands.

One wonders:  How many people in this video have an iPhone in their pocket?

MSM: Perspectives

Is it possible the MSM sees itself differently than we see them?

FB Friend Niko posted this Looking Spoon image a few days ago:

Our Comrades at IOTW have had some fun with MSM acronyms.  Motivated by the recent unpleasantness of the MSMs' attempts at painting the Zimmerman-Martin shooting as racially motivated by editing 911 audio and police video of that evening.

Do we have it? We use Apple products all day long.

Supposedly 600k Apple computer users have this new virus - MacRumors.

Apple has released two updates in as many days as the cure.

A Wall Would Solve This

Today's WSJ: Capital Flees Russia

MOSCOW—Capital flight from Russia accelerated in March, despite Vladimir Putin's re-election to the presidency, which officials had hoped would allay concerns about political risk and slow the torrent of money leaving the country.

"This is coming from domestic businesspeople sending their money out of the country, either to avoid corruption or because they have no place to invest it here," said Alexander Morozov, chief economist at HSBC in Moscow, warning that they aren't likely to reverse this year. The outflows could be a problem for Mr. Putin as he returns to the presidency and seeks to boost economic growth and investment.

Completely unrelated... Mikhail Khodorkovsky (above) remains in jail.

From his Wikipedia profile:

Mikhail Borisovich Khodorkovsky, born 22 June 1963 in Moscow is a former Russian oligarch and businessman. In 2004, Khodorkovsky was the wealthiest man in Russia and one of the richest people in the world, ranked 16th on Forbes list of billionaires.

Khodorkovsky worked his way up the Communist apparatus during the Soviet years, and began several businesses during the era of glasnost and perestroika. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, he accumulated wealth through the development of Siberian oil fields as the head of Yukos, one of the largest Russian companies to emerge from the privatization of state assets during the 1990s.

He was arrested on October 25, 2003 to appear before investigators as a witness, but within hours of being taken into custody he was charged with fraud. The government under Vladimir Putin then froze shares of Yukos shortly thereafter on tax charges. The state took further actions against Yukos, leading to a collapse of the company's share price and the evaporation of much of Khodorkovsky's wealth. He was found guilty and sentenced to nine years in prison in May 2005. While still serving his sentence, Khodorkovsky and business partner Platon Lebedev were further charged and found guilty of embezzlement and money laundering in December 2010, extending his prison sentence to 2017.

There is on-going debate about whether the trials and sentencing were politically motivated.

Fear - Charts of the Day

Fear is felt by those out of power.  The questions are: Is the fear logical?  Is it justified?

When Republicans are in power, the left fears forced Christianity, forced births of all the unborn, rising sea levels and the rich getting richer.  After 8 years of Reagan, and 8 years of George W. Bush, you'd think these fears would be realized if they were warranted.  Does it take more than an 8-year term of a Republican to make these things happen?  If so, why all the fear associated with Santorum?

In other words, the fear that the left feels is not justified, nor logical.

When Democrats are in power, the right fears redistribution of wealth, mis-managed finances, destructive domestic policies and unsustainable public-sector growth, the dilution of religious and traditional family values.  Here are two charts from today that suggest the right may be justified in its fear of liberal progressive communist governance:

From financial blog Zero Hedge:

This chart shows the demand for US minted gold coins since 1987.  Click Here to see a larger version.

More important is the analysis of this chart by Zero Hedge and others.  Some quotes from the article:

Interestingly, Dr Gurdgiev finds that the historic data (since 1987) shows that the "gold price has virtually nothing to do with demand for US Mint coins - in terms of volume of gold sold via coins."

He finds that the demand for gold coins has little to do with the price in general and that “something other than price movements drives demand for coins”.

This is something we have long asserted. Gold coin buyers are some of the least speculative participants in the market. They are safe haven and store of wealth buyers who are not guided by price and by making money.

Their motivation is one of financial insurance and of getting a “return of capital rather than return on capital.”
---
...gold and particularly gold bullion remains owned by a tiny minority of people who are more aware of monetary and systemic risk than the broader public.

Another chart, this one at Doug Ross, shows we'll have to create 15 million jobs to restore the US job market to its 2007 levels.  Click Here for larger chart and source article.

The chart missing for this post is the chart that shows the fear of Obamacare among Americans.

How do you represent these feelings in a line chart?

How do you graph the fear that one may be told that a panel has decided their value to society does not rise to the level of a life-saving treatment?

No Homosexuals!

Just one of the many benefits to vacationing in North Korea (0:38 mark):

Can't beat North Korea's "new and improved" dear leader.  We still have the old and useless dear leader here in the US....

Red Square Shutdown

Putin doesn't like the opposition protests.  He denied the protesters the use of Red Square on Sunday.

What do you think a 2nd term Obama will do to the Tea Parties?  Or to someone who wants a life-saving operation but who was deemed 'not worth' the centralized medical expense?
