Nazis Bad, Commies Good?

Trevor at NewZeal posts a good 8-minute segment from The Soviet Story film that covers the common traits of Communism and Hitler's Fascism.

We blame the Liberal Progressive Communist Public School System for not teaching the history.

The heads of mush that emerge from the system know that Germany fought USSR, so therefore they had opposing systems.

And since we all know the Nazi's were 'bad', therefore the Communists were 'good'.

And since the Liberal Progressive Communist FDR allied with the USSR in the Great Patriotic War, that diplomatic gaff led to a century of USSR legitimacy that was never earned.

But as we know more than ever before, Liberals Progressive Communist Democrats cannot convey legitimacy for the very fact that they have none to convey.

Want to argue this point? Just give an example of a policy from these dolts that succeeded without harming others. We won't hold our breath...

NiceDeb has a related post with an old clip from a Rachel Maddow show this morning - also 8 minutes. NiceDeb asks: "Can we call them Dem Socialists Now?"

Also related - a 2-minute clip from The Soviet Story that answers the question: "Who first advocated racial Genocide? The Nazis or the Commies?

To sum it up: The main common trait shared by both Communists and National Socialists is their enthusiasm for Moral Nihilism. In short, the desired elimination of religious and traditional family values.

See any of that happening today?

Groupthink

The nation's second worst president, Jimmy Carter, visited North Korea this week to get prisoner, Aijalon Gomes, released. It appears he succeeded, and we congratulate him on the mission. The picture below is only one of a few that were published. We went looking for more and seem to have found a trend. Imagine our surprise!

A note from a parent

At Doubleplusundead:

Instead of hiding, I'll admit to something. Yesterday was my daughter's first day of Kindergarten. And as I stood in line with her to enter school, I saw the tiny little thing that I used to be able to hold on my lap walk into the future. I saw the most precious and valuable gift ever given to me set forth on a journey that will lead to (hopefully) a lifetime of happiness and enjoyment. And I saw the future walk into a classroom with a backpack bigger than her, and I thought about her future. And I was and am worried.

Yes, I am worried. What kind of future will she have? And I became angry. I became angry at those who wish to ruin her future. And I began to let the hate grow. Yes, the hate for those who wish to make her life more difficult than what I had. Not hate for an ethnic or other group, but hate for an idea, since people can change their views. And the idea I hate is liberalism. I confess, I hate. I hate those who want to advance an agenda that ruins the today, the tomorrow, and the tomorrow's tomorrow. And to them, I wish them the following:

Get fucked.

It gets better.

He Died a Free Man

This just in... from the Economist:

Apparently, while taking part in exercises from North Korea’s Uiji airbase, close to the Chinese border, the fighter pilot decided to take a detour. Most probably the flight that killed him was a bold attempt at defection.
---
Since China has an agreement with North Korea to return defectors, it seems likely that this pilot was trying to reach Mongolia or even Russia, perhaps to request asylum there. Whatever his grievances in life, it seems that the North’s lack of resources was his undoing in the end; aviation analysts are speculating that the plane was brought down either by a lack of fuel, or by faulty parts.

How bad must things be to flee a place that offers free healthcare and compassionate leadership? A place of both Hope and Change, where all is fair and everything is equal.

On a serious note - were the training operations in preparation for some form of the threatened retaliation for US-ROK joint exercises going on at the moment?

Monster Mosque Mash-Up - UPDATED X2

Should a blog like this one even weigh-in on the NY Mosque issue?

Honestly, our opinion on the matter contains more 4-letter words than any other right-winger site on the Internet. To post our thoughts would bring the full wrath of the Obama Administration: Eric Holder, FCC, Loser Czar #1 to Loser Czar #141. And for good reason.

So, imagine the most spittle-flying, profanity-laced run-on-sentence tirade that would go a little something like this:

Or, join us as we link to, and quote from, some more reasoned rightwing folks (aka the New Media):

Audio (1:14) of Speaker Nancy Pelosi today calling for an investigation of those opposing the Mosque. Where is the Flag@WhiteHouse.gov snitch repository when you need it?! Credits to SondraK and WeaselZippers.

Top Dem Senator "breaking with Obama" on Mosque. (0:17) Credit to Sweetness & Light, who ask:

How do we know if Mr. Reid is actually ‘breaking’ with Obama? Has Mr. Obama issued an official fatwa? Last we heard, he was for freedom of religion, but he refused to opinion on the wisdom of building the mosque.

Doug Ross has an "observant tipster [who] notes that [Mayor] Bloomberg's namesake news service has a significant financial interest in keeping those of Middle Eastern heritage happy."

Remember the previous mayor? Didn't he turn down a $10 million donation from a Saudi after 9-11? File this under "Change", we suppose.

Doug Powers at Michelle Malkin's site offers some links to the President's speech where he mentioned the Mosque. A good questions:

Obama has no problem telling Israel they shouldn’t build apartments in East Jerusalem, but he’s withholding his opinion on the wisdom of constructing a mosque next to where Islamofascists murdered thousands in the country of which he’s president?

Rush led his Wednesday show with the Mosque topic:

You realize, my friends, that the partisan political operative media from Eugene Robinson in the Washington Post to Maureen Dowd are begging George W. Bush to get involved in the mosque issue to save Obama. I'm not kidding. They want Bush 'cause he's got credibility on this. They want Bush to bring out the megaphone again and come out in support of the mosque to bail Obama out. I'm watching MessNBC today and they got all these experts on there saying, "The Republican Party better not overreach on the mosque business." And then Pelosi, right out of Joe Stalin's playbook, "Investigate the funding of the people who oppose the mosque." What we need to start funding is an investigation of Pelosi to get her out of the House of Representatives. This is unreal. Let's investigate the 9/11 families. Let's do that. Right on, that's exactly what we should do, and let's investigate the Tea Party.

Noah O'Donnel at state controlled MSNBC does her part to switch the villan here from terrorists and terrorist-sympathizers to those who oppose the Mosque by... wait for it... equating the two! Ya, those who oppose it are no better than those who flew the jets into the buildings that day. Only on MSNBC. Found at Weasel Zippers.

JournoList Stickers

Your pet birds will get a kick out of these stickers!

Tom Scott in the UK has a label template for you. It seems we're not the only one to see the MSM as a sticker-ready project...

The Democrats - in 4:34 minutes

Recently some lefties came up with a shirt with the words "Fuck Tea". To disagree with the Tea Party folks, one must be for big government, deficit spending and a weak national security - or the opposites of the Tea Party platform.

Ok, free country. Stand up for what you believe. But we dare you to try it without profanity.

From the t-shirt came the catchy tune and anti-Tea video. The song was co-opted by No Sheeples Here, with a video review of prominent Democrat officials. Good Job!

U/T: IOTW and No Sheeples Here

Just 70?

We know. We know. Obama is not a socialist. Got it.

But 70 of his fellow Democrats are. Is this news? Can we now use the "Socialist" label when talking about the Democrats in congress? Can we now call them names?

In all fairness, they are welcome to throw labels back at us: Capitalist. Freedom Lover. Independent. Responsible. Accountable. Problem Solver. Constitutionalist.

Gateway Pundit lists the 70 members of our House of Representatives that are listed as members of the Socialist Party of America. These names were listed in a Democratic Socialists of America newsletter posted at Scribd.

Rush

Normally careful to dance around labeling Obama as a commie, Rush came close on Tuesday.

So now we have this story, "Obama's Economic Team is Exhausted." Why? They didn't even have to come up with the idea. Karl Marx did all the heavy lifting here. There's no innovation in this theory. It's all from the communist manifesto. It's all from the socialists. They haven't had to do anything but try to implement it. What's so damn hard? They haven't had to think of anything. They haven't had to theorize. Seriously, what's the hard work here? What's the Council of Economic Advisors doing? Are they sweating out the fact it's not getting any better? Are they celebrating it's not getting any better? Where is the hard work? What is it they've done that's causing so much stress that they're now having to leave? I mean it's gotta be exhausting all the time. Recalibrating for the optics, like they have to do, conjuring up images, working the media, telling them how to spin disaster into prosperity. If that's what they're doing, then maybe we could say they're working hard. But they're not working hard on the economics. They're just following the blueprint of Karl Marx.

But Rush! But Rush! Are you calling our president a communist??

His wedding pics are now posted up at Facebook. Congrats Rush!

Osip Mandelstam

Stalin-era poet Osip Mandelstam wrote a poem about the Dear Leader. The Dear Leader, who hoped the poet would one day write a glowing poem about The Man of Steel, threw Mr. Mandelstam into prison with a light three-year sentence. Mandelstam, like millions, died in prison from cold and hunger.

His poem is included in Robert Conquest's Stalin: Breaker of Nations on pages 187-188.

We've copied it here, replacing exactly three words.

We live, deaf to the land beneath us,
Ten steps away no one hears our speeches,

But where there's even half a conversation
The White House[1] mountaineer will get his mention

His fingers are as fat as grubs
And words, final as lead weights, fall from his lips,

His cockroach whiskers leer
And his boot-tops gleam.

Around him a rabble of thin-necked leaders -
Fawning half-men for him to play with.

They whinny, purr or whine
As he prates and points a finger,

One by one forging his laws, to be flung
Like horseshoes at the head, the eye or the groin.

And every tax[2] is a treat
For the broad-chested Hawaiian[3].

[1] Kremlin
[2] killing
[3] Ossetian

We remember a quote from Glenn Beck's CNN show from long ago: "This is Communism without the guns.

Yet."

Today's Required Reading

...for all job-seekers and administration and government personnel. Business owners not required, as they could all write this article themselves.

Why I'm Not Hiring by CEO Michael P. Fleischer in today's WSJ.

One of his 83 employees, Sally:

She's a high school graduate with some specialized training. She makes $59,000 a year—on paper. In reality, she makes only $44,000 a year because $15,000 is taken from her thanks to various deductions and taxes, all of which form the steep, sad slope between gross and net pay.
---
My company has to write checks for $74,000 so Sally can receive her nominal $59,000 in base pay.
---
When you add it all up, it costs $74,000 to put $44,000 in Sally's pocket and to give her $12,000 in benefits. Bottom line: Governments impose a 33% surtax on Sally's job each year.

Because of taxes and government burdens, all expected to go up, hiring is not an option:

To offset tax increases and steepening rises in health-insurance premiums, my company needs sustainably higher profits and sales—something unlikely in this "summer of recovery." We can't pass the additional costs onto our customers, because the market is too tight and we'd lose sales. Only governments can raise prices repeatedly and pretend there will be no consequences.

And even if the economic outlook were more encouraging, increasing revenues is always uncertain and expensive. As much as I might want to hire new salespeople, engineers and marketing staff in an effort to grow, I would be increasing my company's vulnerability to government decisions to raise taxes, to policies that make health insurance more expensive, and to the difficulties of this economic environment.

A life in business is filled with uncertainties, but I can be quite sure that every time I hire someone my obligations to the government go up. From where I sit, the government's message is unmistakable: Creating a new job carries a punishing price.

Back in 5...

Comrades! We are headed to the Windy City for some baseball.

We might sneak in a post, but otherwise we'll be back on Monday.

Our Agenda in Obama's home town might include:

Watching Rick Monday's team play...

Visiting our stimulus dollars at Grove Parc....

Drinking some exquisite Wisconsin beer, and maybe some Stoli...

We won't see any armed citizens, but we might draw one if we get bored....

Chevy Volt

We're late to the blog party with the obligatory Chevy Volt post.

To be fair, we'll first get you in the optimistic changhopey mood with a little Chevy Volt jingle:

Now some crass comments to burst your bubble from right-winger talk show host Rush Limbaugh:

The backup engine requires premium gasoline. The primary power plant, the battery they claim gets 40 miles to a charge, which means you've got 20 miles to go someplace and get home. The backup gets you 340 miles using premium gasoline. Now, something's askew here. Shouldn't whatever gets you 40 miles to the charge be the backup?
---
As Mr. Edward Niedermeyer writes: "In short, the Volt appears to be exactly the kind of green-at-all-costs car that some opponents of the bailout feared the government might order GM to build." Who would that be? Who would these "opponents" be? You know, this didn't start with Obama. It starts with Algore. He had the first electric car idea. Well, "President Obama's task force reported in 2009 that the Volt 'will likely be too expensive..." This is from GM. I'm sorry, it's Obama's task force. "President Obama's task force reported in 2009 that the Volt 'will likely be too expensive to be commercially successful in the short term'..."

So another Bam task force making something nobody wants, and even the defenders in the Fake Media -- I'm reading some of the critics of me out there in the partisan political operative media -- say, "Well, I guess Mr. Limbaugh was opposed to the Internet because it wasn't fast enough at first. I guess he was opposed to getting into buying products that..." You people fail to understand. You do not make any effort to understand. This is not a criticism of General Motors and it is not a criticism of the Volt. We in the country class of this great nation are aghast. We are apoplectic over the fact that a bunch of know-nothings, a bunch of people who have a chip on their shoulder about this country are now running some of the greatest industries that twine this country's greatness -- and they don't know diddly-squat, and they're turning these great industries into nothing more than arms of their political agenda.

The Chevrolet Volt is a political statement.

Correction, Mr. Limbaugh. This didn't start with Algore. It started with a bum living in a friend's apartment in Germany rent-free writing an envy screed commanding the "Workers of the World, Unite!".

The Chevy Volt. The new "IT".

JournoList UPDATED & BUMPED x5

Originally posted July 21:

Journolist - where liberal progressive communist media elites plot their stories propaganda for the day. Discovered over a year ago, and recently in the news when one of their own strayed from the Party line.

Imagine a Daily Kos/Democrat Underground chat room, but with MSM decision-makers. (Now go take a shower)

Instapundit Glenn Reynolds sums it up right: "Stalinist by instinct, aren't they?"

Now back in the news with members fantasizing about watching Rush Limbaugh dying of a heart attack and the FCC pulling Fox News' license. From The Daily Caller:

The very existence of Fox News, meanwhile, sends Journolisters into paroxysms of rage. When Howell Raines charged that the network had a conservative bias, the members of Journolist discussed whether the federal government should shut the channel down.

BigFurHat at IOTW: "As I said before, one cannot smell their own bad breath. These leaks are an embarrassment of riches. What you have to constantly keep in mind is that these are not supposed to be ideologues, these are … *snicker*… journalists."

And Fox News - temporarily still on the air - suggests the Journolist leaks suggest the MSM collectively (heh) deflected attention away from Rev. Wright during the 2008 campaign:

Journalists working for Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic expressed outrage over the tough questioning Obama received from ABC anchors Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos at a debate and some of them plotted to protect Obama from the swirling controversy, according to the Daily Caller.

Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent pressed his fellow journalists to deflect attention from Obama's relationship with Wright by shifting topics to one of Obama's conservative critics, the Daily Caller reported.

"Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares – and call them racists," Ackerman wrote.

Ushanka.us was founded nearly four years ago - the motivation being the fun it could be poking fun at media bias. Could we be more right?

UPDATED 7.24:

The story that keeps on going. Kinda like an MSM story about one of their own breaking a nail in a combat zone. Correction... 10 miles from a combat zone.

Several sites have posted partial lists of the JournoList losers. John Lott has the most comprehensive we've seen so far with 75 libs and their affiliations.

A video started going viral today. It is in response to NPR's Sarah Spitz's JournoList comments about watching Rush Limbaugh die from a heart attack saying she would "Laugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out".

Just sometimes...

In essence, all these left-leaning journalists, an estimated 400 in all, used the JournoList site to refine their messages for maximum effect. It was an exercise in mass propaganda, getting everyone to sing from the same ideological hymnal — which explains the tedious sameness of the mainstream media's 2008 election coverage.

In short, they were fraudulently selling you political opinion and propaganda disguised as fair-minded "news."

And today, this video of Anita MonCrief, former ACORN worker-turned activist and founder of the new site: EmergingCorruption.com:

UPDATED 7.25

Updates from Doug Ross and IOTW. The list is now 107, and IOTW has added more pictures of white JournoList'ers.

They look like a bunch of racist teabaggers! But unlike tea-partiers, these liberals progressives communists hide behind the scenes. Welcome to the sweet bright light of truth and liberty!

UPDATED 7.26

New Zeal posts a list of JournoList'ers, but this list has their socialist and communist affiliations. More great work by Trevor there, but little surprise to those of us who always saw the communist-inspirations in the MSM.

Big Fur Hat at IOTW responds to the first JournoList'er to attempt a history rewrite. Kevin Carey: "It was basically a place to shoot the breeze about things such people find interesting — politics, policy, sports, music, themselves." And don't forget the Rev. Wright whitewash in 2008. That was interesting too.

UPDATED 7.27

We just saw this in our pile of unread articles... James Taranto at the WSJ says of the JournoList in his July 20 Best of the Web post:

Plainly the list was a forum where liberals got together to work out talking points, as evidenced by that "open letter." Worse, it was a forum where people employed as journalists conspired to suppress the news--and, by doing so "off the record," used journalistic ethics as cover.

Jenny Erikson at The Stir, found through InstaPundit, summarizes in her article Media Control Controls the Masses:

You don't have to be a conservative to be shocked by this blatant desire to stomp on the First Amendment; you just have to be an American.

We only need to look at history to learn that whoever controls the information controls the people. Why do you think it was illegal to teach slaves to read? Knowledge is power, baby, and only those that want to control you attempt to keep information and facts from you.

Open your eyes and examine the motives of all reporters on both sides of the aisle. Examine the facts before taking a reporter, any reporter, at their word. You can handle the truth, and it will set you free.

Trevor at New Zeal has a new post on the latest JournoLister outed, author and socialist Robert Kuttner, in his post, Obama File 108 Pro Obama "JournoLista" Outed - New "Can of Worms" Opened. Just more links between JournoListers and anti-American commie organizations. That's all.

Peter Wehner at Commentary Magazine, in a response to the liberals trying to talk the controversy down: Journolisters Risked Their Integrity:

If Journolist turns out to differ substantially from its portrayal, Journolisters should release the full exchanges. Ezra Klein, David Corn, Jonathan Chait, and Joe Klein have all offered defenses, though their efforts range from feeble to pathetic. (It was really and merely “an argument between moderate and left-wing journalists,” Chait assures us.) Assuming that Journolisters cannot provide a stronger defense, other members of the fourth estate should be troubled by what has been uncovered. After all, it is the probity of their profession that is being stripped away.

Those who participated in Journolist undoubtedly hope this story will fade away and be forgotten. I rather doubt it will. It is another episode in the long, downward slide of modern journalism. “We were taking risks,” Joe Klein writes in his own defense. And the Journolist participants surely were — not intellectual risks but risks with their integrity — and several of them have been caught dead-to-rights. “Broken eggs cannot be mended,” Lincoln said. Neither can some broken reputations.

In many respects, the whole thing is dispiriting. On the other hand, it has had a clarifying effect. It turns out that the worst caricatures of liberal journalists were not, at least in the case of some, a caricature at all.

Was that a reference to Ushanka.us??
