GOP Website Review #2

Perhaps in 2020, assuming America still exists, we'll have presidential candidates who plan ahead and decide how they stand on the issues of the day.   Apparently, this is too much to hope for in 2016.

Here are the results from my second website review.  Still embarrassing, but some improvements.

The scores above are averages of two scores:
1) Does the candidate have an Issues tab on his site (0-3), and
2) If so, does the candidate address the issues with specific plans (0-3)?
44% of the 2016 Republican candidates do not have an Issues link on their websites.

Of the ones who do, the issues they address are either few or lacking any specific plan.

Huckabee and Paul have the best Issues lists. Jindal made the greatest improvement since the last review.

My preferred candidate scored another big fat zero.  I will be sending a link of this post to his site.

I'll post my second GOP Rankings Report this Friday.

German Efficiency

German efficiency at the Clinton campaign headquarters:

Usually the Hitler videos mark the end of a scandal.  I hope this marks the beginning.  And I hope that when the dust settles next November we'll be told that Hillary held on too long and therefore the Democrats "were never able to get their message out."

The Trump Challenge for the Democrats

Zhukov and I were just discussing what Democrat attack ads on Trump will look like, assuming Trump gets the nomination.

We figure it will all be personal: divorces and bankruptcies.  That is what Democrats do.

But that leads to a dilemma:  Wouldn't attacking someone for bad personal choices and bad money management be the same as attacking the Democrat Party base?

Take The Ushanka Challenge

Be the first to show me an image that makes me laugh louder than I did when I saw the picture below, and I will send you a Commie Obama Hat.

Contest ends Friday, August 14.

UPDATED 8.12:

Thanks for linking WRSA!

I'm still laughing at the theater meme above, so the bar is set high.  If you need some inspiration, here are a couple laugh-pics that almost make the grade:

And yes, I'll be submitting myself for an ObamaCare psychiatric review here shortly.

Expected diagnosis:  Subject laughs uncontrollably at insensitive, yet timely and relevant, images.

Recommended treatment: Ten years of re-education through the cleansing process of labor.

UPDATED 8.15.15:

While the contest is over, and I am exempt from participating, I found this worthy challenge at American Digest:

The Ushanka Promise and RedState

My promise to Ushanka's three loyal readers:
I promise I will never lib-out.
If the GOP establishment and I ever share the same opinion on a matter, it will be because they adjusted to my view.

The big news on FB and the blogs today is RedState blog's uninviting of Trump from their upcoming debate.  RedState is one of those commercial blogs that I avoid as they share the same blandness of the sell-outs in the old media.  Want to hear a real opinion?  Go to a blog that doesn't have ads.

NBC:

Apparently RedState blogger Erick Erickson got his panties in a bunch over his interpretation of a comment Trump made about FoxNews debate moderator Megyn Kelly.  This, in turn, reminded me of a favorite South Park episode.

I didn't watch the debate and I never visit any MSM news outlets, so I can only go by what I see in the new media and what my FB comrades tell me.  Apparently, Megyn abused her role as the debate moderator.  The critics are saying she was unprofessional in general, and disrespectful to Trump specifically.

Apparently the candidates are all ranked the same after the debate.  But Megyn has dropped a notch among conservatives.  And Erick has dropped a few notches.  This has been good for a couple reasons:
1) Turn up the pressure even the slightest, and you'll learn who the weak among us really are, and
2) I get to stand on Erick's ashes and remind everyone that I am not beholden to any advertiser, candidate, or old-media outlet.

My take on Trump to this point:
1) He is the only candidate who showed up with a plan,
2) He threatens MSM and RedState ad revenue with a quick nomination,
3) He has more energy than all the others, combined,
4) He threatens the GOP establishment, RINO's and RedState,
5) His anger (not his politics) makes him the closest to a Tea Party candidate as we'll get,
5) He is not my [current] favorite, but he'll get my vote if nominated.
My only other involvement in the primaries, so far, is my GOP Rankings work.  Take a gander.

UPDATED 10 minutes later...

Trump responds to the RedState un-invite:
. . . not only is Erick a total loser, he has a history of supporting establishment losers in failed campaigns so it is an honor to be uninvited from his event. Mr. Trump is an outsider and does not fit his agenda.
Go read it all.

Tab Clearing

I've collected a bunch of articles again.  Not many made the grade this time, but they are all available to you at this Google Doc if you want.  29 pages.

Comrade Ann Barnhardt went there.  "There" being the next step in the Democrat Party's journey to hell - the human consumption of aborted babies.  I've been trying to find a way to present this concept, but I always bow out because it is just too ugly.  Ann isn't making this stuff up - she points to China as a place where.  this.  already.  takes.  place.

Jason Hart offers two posts at Doug's site about Ohio's John Kasich's embrace of ObamaCare.  Just in time for tonight's first GOP debate.  Article 1, and Article 2.  The stunning revelation: Kasich is quoted as saying a decision to partner with DC on healthcare should NOT involve ideology.

The Telegraph has a fascinating article about Saudi Arabia and their recent move to flood the market with oil.  Ambrose Evans-Prichard shows how this was a terrible move in the short term, and that the kingdom will be doomed in less than ten years.  This is the best analysis I've seen that addresses the survivability of our fracking against the long-term drop in oil prices.  In short, we win, they lose.  What he doesn't address: how the Saudi decline will impact 'peace' in the Middle East in the coming years.

RIP: Robert Conquest

Author Robert Conquest has died at 98.

I have read three of his books which are listed in the Ushanka Library to the left:
The Great Terror
Kolyma
Stalin: Breaker of Nations
I have more of his books on my bookshelf that I still need to read.

He is the single best source if you want to study the atrocities of Communism.  It is not easy reading.

Here is his Amazon page.
