Choices

This picture is of Edith O'Brien.  She was a MF Global assistant treasurer who was at the epicenter of last year's collapse and the loss of over $1.6 billion in customer money.

She plead the 5th yesterday.  She is protecting herself as the facts come out that she received orders from Democrat Jon Corzine to take protected money from customer accounts and invest it in European bonds.

And she acted on those orders.

She is not only stupid for working for the only investor willing to buy European bonds, but she makes poor choices too.

She went along with Corzine's theft.  She was in a position to say "no" to the criminal act but chose to go ahead with it anyway.  She might be able to buy mercy by ratting-out Corzine, but it won't put her in any higher standing than the gutter rat that she is now.

Edith O'Brien, along with Democrat Corzine, exposed the banking system as corrupt, and the oversight (government) crowd as impotent.

Saving our financial system will take people of honor and integrity, not new laws.  The opposite, unfortunately, will occur.

After the vigilante's bullet rips open the child's chest,  he lies on the ground, gasping for air until he dies.

By contrast, the president's budget pushes debt as a share of the economy even higher. In his budget's own words, it allows the government's fiscal position to "gradually deteriorate" after 2022.

He uses all the key words when referencing our Dear Leader's 'plan':  balance, education, comprehensive, bipartisan, share in the sacrifice, seniors, disabled, balanced approach.

Then to Ryan's plan: unbalanced, tax relief to the most well off, no new revenue, not well thought out, shift costs to seniors, defense savings, tax cuts for the well off, deep burdens, not consistent with our values.

Professor Mike Adams

We've been long overdue to offer a Tribute post to Professor Mike Adams.
We used to watch for his articles at Townhall every day until the popup messages offering Michelle Malkin books and Michelle Malkin t-shirts and Michelle Malkin t-shirts with pictures of her books got to be too much.


Dr. Adams is a professor at University of North Carolina University in Wilmington.  He sets the standard for pro-life and pro-gun.  And we had the honor to hand him a Commie Obama hat at CPAC 2008, which we are sure he wears daily.  Here is a video of his speech at CPAC 2011.

Have Hat, Will Travel

Back in February we reported a fellow right-winger blogger, CrazyUnk, was diagnosed with colon cancer.  He has since tackled surgery, as well as many unexpected side-effects and personal challenges.  Still is.

We are dealing with our own challenges, but let's be honest.  Karl's challenges equate to a liberal knat's hangnail when compared to what CrazyUnk is facing 24/7.  Karl, and his soul, needed perspective and so we offered our help to CrazyUnk.

We visited CrazyUnk and his crazy better half this week, and can't wait to visit with them more.

To make this post fit into the Ushanka blog theme, let me relate a conversation (as I recollect):

Karl:  Do you realize how lucky you are to have had cancer before Obamacare kicks in?

CrazyUnk:  I know.

Karl:  Here you are a month after your diagnosis, and some bureaucrat would still be determining the cost-benefit of treating you vs. giving you a pain pill.

CrazyUnk:  I know.

Karl:  And then you'd go on a list.  And "oh sorry, the doctor called in sick.  Now that you're off the list we'll go ahead and put you back on."

CrazyUnk:  I know.

Karl:  Those motherless #&($&@ and Godless ^#@*(&#$.

Maybe next time we'll let CrazyUnk get a word in.
