In 18 Months...

Today's Drudge:

If these six are all we get to choose from next year, it is accurate to say that 66% of the GOP is shit. 

There are only two proven conservative leaders in the bunch.  And knowing the tactics of the establishment GOP - represented by the other four - my two picks will get little opportunity to present a worthy plan.

I'm not throwing in the towel, nor will I ever.  I will vote "R" next year, and every year thereafter. 

But this lineup suggests the GOP lacks a seriousness about ISIS expansion, Russian expansion, Iranian nukes, ObamaCare, NSA abuses, IRS abuses, ATF abuses, failing schools, massive unemployment and a debt load that will reach $22,000,000,000,000 by the time the dear leader is run out of office.

There are two reasons to stay positive:
1) In comparison to the Democrat Party candidates, we look AWESOME.  And,
2) There are some other strong conservatives who can still jump in.

That would be the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in August 1968.

The invasion successfully stopped the liberalisation reforms and strengthened the authority of the conservative wing within the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (KSČ). The foreign policy of the Soviet Union during this era was known as the Brezhnev Doctrine.

Leonid Brezhnev and the leadership of the Warsaw Pact countries were worried that the unfolding liberalizations in Czechoslovakia, including the ending of censorship and political surveillance by the secret police, would be detrimental to their interests. Sunday Tab Clearing

Comrades!  My apologies for the recent absence.  I've been busy with my new hobby: buckets of fun mind-numbing work.

Jim Rickards, my preferred source for an honest assessment of our economic uncertainties, adopted a more pessimistic tone on his blog last week:

The same goes for the collapse of the monetary system. It’s the instability of the financial system as a whole. So, when I think about the risks, I don’t focus so much on the snowflake, it could be a lot of things that trigger the event. It could be a failure to deliver physical gold because gold’s getting scarce. It could be a Lehman type of collapse of a financial firm or another MF Global. It could be a prominent suicide. It could be a natural disaster.

It could be a lot of things, but my point is, it doesn’t matter. It will be something that causes the system to collapse. What matters is that the monetary system is so unstable. The blunders have already been made. It’s not as if we’re going to do some bad things that’s going to create risks. The risk is already there. It’s embedded. We’re just waiting for that catalyst.

Premature Ecommunation

Washington state took the bold, yet premature, step of flying the Chinese Communist flag in front of their state house. 



This is the same state that passed I594, a tyranny bill turning their law-abiding citizens into criminals in the name of the greater good, or something.  Like the citizens in the video above, the WA citizens are fighting back: Ushanka, and Townhall.
