Whack-a-Mole Gun Control

The Liberal Progressive Communist gun-grabbers are in retreat in every battle across America.

This is not to gloat.  We could be in a situation similar to the Vietnam War, where every battle was won yet the war was lost at the top.  In our case, we are just one Supreme Court seat away from potentially losing it all.  The GOP pick in 2016 is another concern, with over half the prospective candidates having some RINO characteristic (and establishment GOP support).

Washington State was the latest mole to pop up its head in our Whack-a-Mole resistance.  Yesterday a group of roughly 100 patriots showed up to the capital to whack the politicians who voted for I594, an obnoxious law passed last November.  Many of the protesters were under arms.  The Bloomburg-controlled legislature moles knew they were coming and locked them out of the chamber.  The people's chamber.  Arrests were expected but did not happen.

The mission was accomplished as the message was received.

The I594 law was marketed as a law that would end the 'gun show loophole,' and require background checks for private sales.  It instead requires a background check for a gun loan, whether you loan a rifle to a friend during hunting season, or hand your firearm to a friend whom you're teaching gun safety to.  You can learn more at the Vote No on I594 site.  It is a silly law meant to trap lawful gun owners rather than protect the people.

Mike Vanderboegh of Sipsey Street Irregulars, center in photo above, was one of the event's speakers. Here he is giving a short talk.  His full speech was posted at Gates of Vienna.

Mike:
For we are divided today — as the Founders were themselves divided from their fellow countrymen — along the stark lines of the answer to the fundamental question: Does the government serve the people or do the people serve the government? It is a simple question. It is the most basic of questions. And the answer is either one or the other. It cannot be both. It cannot be compromised. Who serves whom? That is what we are here today, in some small part, to discover.

Hometown Battlefield (PTSD)

Comrade Doc, a Vietnam Veteran, shared this song at FB.

Posted last April by Canadian J. P. Cormier, Hometown Battlefield is a tribute to those who fought and later suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.

He donates 20% of song sales to the Canadian PTSD charity, Paws Fur Thoughts.

Weekend Tab Clearing

Trying to keep up with all the cool stuff out there....

Knuckledragg'in tells us all we need to know about the Eric Holder replacement:
[Loretta Lynch] was picked up as a gate-keeper by Obama to continue all of the cover up actions by Holder and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, to shield Holder and Obama from criminal prosecution.
Comrade and author Matt Bracken shared this cool site with us on FB.  NukeMap: Plot the effects of a nuclear warhead on or near your home town to see the fireball radius, air blast and radiation effects.  You can select from a list of current and past warhead yields as well as air burst vs surface burst.  Here is the map for a Ft. Knox 1.2 megaton surface detonation:

The US Marine Corp Facebook page posted this Reagan photo today.  I'm shocked that they don't have young men lining up outside recruiters' offices.  All we had back in the 80's was "Be All You Can Be."  No FB, no cool commercials.  Nothing.  If you wanted to learn more about the military, you'd either talk to a vet or a recruiter.  Vets were just coming out of their post-Vietnam funk back then.  It was rare to hear anything positive about the military.  Recruiters weren't much better.  I joined (Army Reserves) because I had made the decision to join at 13-14 years old.  Why?  It was a rite of passage thing.  And because the only people who had cool stories were vets.  I've posted before on my advice re: a military career.

Bonus pic!

English Russia has posted some photos of dolls found near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster site.  The accident happened in 1986.  I recall hearing the news and thinking of all the Soviet citizens who were being lied to.  Whose movement was restricted.  Whose lives were secondary to the state's need to avoid embarrassment.

Our comrade over at CRASHR posted this 1934 cartoon.

While the cartoon above is appropriate today as it was then, not all governments are committing suicide.  Straightline Logic has a great post on the proposed changes in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong government officials should know better. The government is running a surplus, interferes very little with the freest economy on the planet, and is proposing to lower taxes and return money to its citizens. Haven’t they learned the lesson of history, the lesson from the US’s own Industrial Revolution, when the US government pretty much followed the same policies? (There wasn’t even an income tax or central bank, for chrissakes!) Don’t they know about this black period in US economic history, when real incomes doubled and economic growth in the US hit its all-time highs as prices actually went down and innovation exploded?

ISIS

Another post in our Religion of Peace and Losing a War series.  Just click the label(s) at the bottom to see related posts.

First, a bunch of peaceful worshipers burned a Jordanian pilot to death, then immediately called for the end to the cycle of violence.

Next, one of the conservative celebrity opines.

Swiftboating: Brian Williams

Proving the Ushanka axiom once again: Liberals lie, cheat, steal (redistribute), agitate, and encourage others to do the same.

The latest to get caught is old-media man, Brian Williams.  He works for old-media company, NBC.

He's bragged on his bio, and to fellow lib Letterman, that he encountered enemy fire while on a US military helicopter in Iraq.  The air crews from that day remember otherwise and have called him out.

Mr. Williams has removed the lie from his bio and has made a lame attempt at an apology.  In other words, he's sorry he got caught.

UPDATED 2.6.15 11am:

Doug reminds us that Mr. Williams criticized bloggers because we lack... wait for it.... credibility.

UPDATED 2.7.15 3:30pm:

I've collected 30 Brian Williams images from FB and other blogs!  More than I can reasonably share!
Something a little different.  Some creative writing from World News Bureau - a news source with far more credibility than Williams' NBC.  Finally, somebody is cutting Brian some slack!
Having also experienced the nerve-wracking, frantic confusion of being in combat, I can understand how easy it would be to forget minor details like which helicopter got shot down and whether I was in it. When bombs are flying and bullets are exploding, there's no time to take notes - every second is spent figuring out how you're going to get out of that disintegrating warbird, if you were to be in it.

UPDATED 2.7.154:30pm:

Apparently the mockery has become too much for NBC....

Wednesday Tab Clearing

NiceDeb* has a post, with video, about a model parent in Iraq.  ISIS, the terror group that has grown over the past several years only to be acknowledged by our government since last summer, murdered Basil Ramadan's son last month.  Basil shot up an ISIS checkpoint in Takrit, killing seven before being killed himself.  A few more Basils will teach the inbred goat f**kers some simple math: trading 7 for 2 is not sustainable.

Captain Capitalism*, author of Worthless, posts a graph that maps the general and specific "ability" of people based on their college degree type and level.  All kids considering college should do two things: 1) read his book, and 2) look at this chart.  I wish I had these resources back then.

Comrade Aurini*, of Stares at the World fame, posted a 32-minute YouTube chat about The Core of Leftism.  He discusses their appreciation for reality and logic, among other things.  Good stuff, as always.

Comrade Joe Dan* has a new Intellectual Froglegs video out.  Don't let the frame of Jeb bother you.  The Jeb segment is quite short.  Always energetic.  Always entertaining.  Watch now so you can tell your friends you were an early Intellectual Froglegs viewer.  Joe Dan will be big some day soon.

Did you know anonymous blogging is now illegal in China, and crosses on the top of buildings are illegal in Syria?  How will you react to these moves if/when they happen here?

Reason posts a 3-minute video about the lost history of Communism in Germany.  Apparently the horrors of National Socialism are remembered, but not the International flavor that led to a wall cage.

Last, an update on the state of public education.  EAG News:
FRANCISVILLE, La. – A Louisiana teacher is out of a job after police allege she kicked and slapped one of her first grade students last month.

Chanel Lemelle, 31, resigned from her position at Bains Lower Elementary School in St. Francisville last week as investigators looked into allegations she struck a student in the cafeteria during lunch Jan. 23, The Advocate reports.

“A sheriff’s deputy who reviewed camera footage of the incident wrote in an arrest report that as the student walked by Lemelle in the school’s cafeteria, she could be seen kicking him in the rear,” according to The Advocate.

“The video also showed her slapping the boy on the back of the head, the deputy wrote.”

More LIberal Propaganda

I must have friended a liberal progressive communist on FB.  This is the second lib meme in the same week.  Where are they coming from?

Could it be that these "scientists" are dependent on [Democrat] government for funding?

Could it be these "scientists" couldn't hold a job anywhere else, and thus are beholden to produce the desired forecasts?

Could it be the Earth's temperature fluctuates with or without human activity?

Could it be "climate change" was just one big destructive hoax, motivated by envy and resentment, and designed to redistribute wealth from the productive?

No further questions, your honor.

How We Won the Cold War:  The poncho liner.  1 each.  OD green.

MBest11x is the YouTube channel for AR 15 Clothing.  They are a bunch of veterans with great t-shirt designs and an even better calling.  They are as goofy in their videos as they are serious about the challenges facing our returning veterans.  They also remind me of the great people I knew from my time in uniform.

The reason I laughed at this video - every time I watched it today - was because it is so true.

Go look at their t-shirts!

Imgur Agrees!

The only good commie is a dead commie.  Source: Imgur.

Some military history geeks suggest this guy is a Soviet WWII soldier and the maraca is an anti-tank grenade.  One commenter suggested the helmet didn't do it's job, while others - probably from Berkeley - were appalled and agast the commie corpse was used for humor.

We're all about history here at Ushanka, hence the reason for this post.
