Quote of the Day

The other Karl (Deninger):

You often hear various people on the left and right tell you that if you vote for this candidate or that, if you support the Tea Party, the Republicans, the Democrats or whatever that some terrible thing will befall you -- and if you instead vote their way that it will all be ok.

Well, how's it working out for you?

I remind you that the Republicans could have prevented the government from re-opening until Obamacare and the health scam generally was stopped and reversed.  They could have also forced an immediate balanced federal budget.

I remind you that the Democrats promised you that you'd be able to keep your health plan if you wanted, but if you didn't it would be cheaper under Obamacare than before.

We now know the claims from both sides were lies.

Yep.  Republicans suck less.  They won't be getting a dime from this Karl anytime soon, at least not until they show us what they stand for - unanimously and with results, not words.

And in case a Republican stumbles across this, here is what he needs to do:

Stand against Communism.

Stop it in its tracks.  Vote NO on everything except 'a gun in every home.'

We'll know you're serious when the NSA/DNC outs your extra-marital activities, drug use, profanity-laced phone calls and sleeping habits.  Then you'll have our praise.

Communist Indoctrination of School Children- Czechoslovakia and America Compared

Another Guest Post from Comrade Amaliya - a hat owner who recently traveled to Europe.

Sounds familiar, right?  Isn't this going on in our own U.S. public schools currently, with revisionist history at it's worst?  Say something often enough and it will be believed by the low-information masses, starting with the "young skulls full of mush", (as Comrade Limbaugh would say.)  Here in America, our own kids are now being taught that our founding fathers were nothing but slave masters and genocidal maniacs, who must be subverted.  If the basis on which our great country was founded is undermined, then it makes it all the easier to sell a utopian society that lies only in the heads of Communists' (i.e. Democrats')

The informational poster below, seen in the Museum of Communism in Prague, contains many of the same tenets embraced by our own Marxist leader:  Degrade religion (or at least Christianity), create class envy (the rich must pay their "FAIR SHARE"), promote hatred against democratic countries (the diplomatic gap between Great Britain, Israel, Germany, etc. is widening), keep an eye on your neighbor so he will not disturb "social order" (HELLO! NSA monitoring calls/ emails and IRS harassing the Tea Party!)  Golly, the former editor of the Harvard Law Review, Barack Hussein Obama, couldn't have written it any better.

One tenet on the poster lies in stark contrast to the regime under Obama: "A socialist man should be satisfied with a modest income while conscientiously fulfilling the work tasks..."  Obama expects nothing of the sort, since no work tasks are required at all for those who are 'victims' of a capitalistic  society. Victimhood is now a ruling class, extorting funds from the middle and upper classes so social order is preserved. To do anything less will result in flash mobs looting Walmarts coast to coast. Oh wait......

The Czechs are digging out of the quagmire of communism which has set them back for decades. Their road to freedom is a valuable lesson, and American democrats need to study much, MUCH harder.   -Amaliya

Graph of the Day from ZH:

UPDATED 8am:

ZH posts an apology from a former Fed QE spender, Andrew Huszar, who explains QE's intentions vs. it's results.

Even by the Fed's sunniest calculations, aggressive QE over five years has generated only a few percentage points of U.S. growth. By contrast, experts outside the Fed, such as Mohammed El Erian at the Pimco investment firm, suggest that the Fed may have created and spent over $4 trillion for a total return of as little as 0.25% of GDP (i.e., a mere $40 billion bump in U.S. economic output). Both of those estimates indicate that QE isn't really working.

Veteran's Day Cigar

Only a Rocky Patel Edge was good enough to smoke in honor of our nation's veterans.  And we smoked it in the most peaceful of settings, our local range.

The Czech Republic- Emerging from Decades of Soviet Domination

A Guest Post from Comrade Amaliya - a hat owner who recently traveled to Europe.

This past week, I crossed the border from buttoned-up and tidy Austria into the formerly Soviet-occupied Czech Republic.

Our driver offered some context to the Czech people’s struggle, since he was raised in Prague, the capital and center of revolt against Soviet domination.  He was present at the world-famous Wencelas Square in 1989 when 800,000 Czech citizens organized a successful protest against Soviet oppression.

It’s no secret that the people still harbor great resentment against Russians, and this is very evident in the Museum of Communism very near Wencelas Square.  Trying hard to make up the lost ground after decades of oppression by the Communists (1948-1989), Czechs would die before turning back to Communism.

The irony that the U.S.A. is hurling headlong INTO it is not lost on me! (Thank you B.H.O. and low-info voters.)

The street in Prague that leads to The Museum of Communism is lined with banners like this:

ObamaCare is Communism

Of course, WE aren't saying that ObamaCare is Communism.  To say that distracts from the political discourse and keeps us apart, keeping us from coming together to solve society's problems.  Blah blah blah.

David Horowitz, former Liberal Progressive Communist himself, does call ObamaCare what it is: "Communism."

Hitler Denied

Unlike other laughable failures of Liberals Progressives Communists and their policies, ObamaCare's disaster of a roll out will not end with a Hitler video.

Somebody is Wrong

Two screenshots from a few minutes ago with headlines from the Virginia Gov Race:

One side is correct, and the other side is using their reach and visibility for advertising revenue.

The latter should be run out of this country tomorrow am.

UPDATED 11.6.13:

Congrats to the Liberals Progressives Communists in NYC and VA.  Free Stuff is still on the menu!

Smart campaigning by people determined to win.  We hope some of that rubs off in the GOP someday, but we're not holding our breath.

We are especially excited to watch NYC go the way of Detroit.  We were too busy with career and family during the Detroit decline, but now that we're unemployed in Obama's America, we'll have all the time to watch the nation's largest city decline into poverty.

Extra credit to the Marxists who actually donated funds to the Libertarian candidate and pulled votes away from the Republican.  Libertarians, like Liberals, are useful idiots and it appears their usefulness helped win the day in VA.

As for the original post, the Liberal Progressive Communist media were correct, and it was Drudge that was playing for advertising revenue.

We are tired of being played.  We cancelled cable back in 2010, and further withdrew from modest new sources.  As of today, we withdraw further.

Following the lead of Ushanka's Zhukov, Drudge is no longer in our bookmarks nor is their app on our iPhone.

 Then

Now

We've added the Bing app and bookmark and will try them for news.  We recall a May post at Legal Insurrection that compared the news at Google vs Bing and found that Google News was seriously lacking.

We made another change in our habits a month or two ago that we've been meaning to write about.  We are a 24/7 subscriber to Rush Limbaugh's radio show.  Have been for over 7 years.  We've maybe listened to 2-3 shows in the past month.  Rush has been one of our primary news sources, and an inspiration for Ushanka.  But we've lately felt played with him too.  Maybe if we liked hearing about mail-order tea or new books instead of critical thought or conservative passion we'd be more into his show.  The critical thought is long gone there, and it feels like we're just listening to someone biding his time.  He's earned it.  The problem is few are stepping up to lead.

For our news we'll frequent Bing News, a small group of like-minded patriots at FB, and the incredible bloggers listed at the left.  Will it be enough?

UPDATED 11.13:

Updating to share some info:

1) Bing's mobile app does not have news.  So we've been using the Google App on our phone for news.

2) We've stripped the Drudge link from our browsers toolbars and our phone.  However, it is still the startup screen for our browser and we've failed to bring ourselves to replace it.  This is a tough site to drop!

3)  We tried to adopt BadBlue, a site promoted by our comrade, Doug Ross, and marketed as an alternative to Drudge.  The site is too cluttered and it is difficult to do a quick scan of the news there. It is so bad that we'd rather not know the news than try to find it there.  Maybe it is a layout that grows on you?

4) Our next plan is to re-visit some of the commercial/established conservative blogs as reliable news sources.  Maybe there is one or two that do a good job.  Our last venture into this area was a disappointment.  Either a conservative blog is loyal to conservatism, loyal to advertisers, or clumsily trying to cater to both.  (How many ads do you see here at Ushanka?)  We'll update again if we find any good sites.
