No Bucket For Me

Captain Capitalism posts a video on the topic. In the description, he writes:
White people doing gimmicky things to make themselves feel better while never solving the problem!

A FB Comrade posted this info today:

Want to dump ice water on your head and tell me that I am a poor sport for not doing it? OK..here is my issue:

ALS research:

Jane H. Gilbert – President and CEO – $339,475.00

Daniel M. Reznikov – Chief Financial Officer – $201,260.00

Steve Gibson – Chief Public Policy Officer – $182,862.00

Kimberly Maginnis - Chief of Care Services Officer – $160,646.00

Lance Slaughter - Chief Chapter Relations and Development Officer – $152,692.00

Michelle Keegan – Chief Development Officer – $178,744.00

John Applegate – Association Finance Officer – $118.726.00

David Moses – Director of Planned Giving – $112,509.00

Carrie Munk – Chief Communications and Marketing Officer – $142,875.00

Patrick Wildman – Director of Public Policy – $112,358.00

Kathi Kromer – Director of State Advocacy – $110,661.00

Couple THAT with the money they spend on "Lobbying" and "GRANTS" that have no effect on ALS research and then toss in the whole  “You are not cool with using aborted babies as ingredients" thing..and I hope you can see that while I think the videos are funny.  I just wont make one.

No doubt the ALS folks look at all publicity as good publicity.  I hope they raise a ton of cash and finally cure the disease.  Nobody should suffer with the technology and knowledge that is dedicated to beneficial pharmaceutics and higher profits.

BOTH are noble causes.

Maintaining a charity perpetual income machine and filming videos, not so much.

Here is my bucket...

and how I use it...

And if you're interested in really doing something important, where your charity dollars are treasured and produce real results, check out our donate link at the top left.  Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) is helping escaped North Koreans trapped in China make their second escape to South Korea and freedom.

  1. I stopped donating to all mainstream charities when I read how much the the top people are often compensated. Public broadcasting is even worse. I used to be a "member" of our regional PBS television station in NYC until I learned their CEO had a compensation package worth half a million dollars. Anyone who donates to a national or large regional charity is being played for a sucker. Best to find small charities doing some real good operating on a shoestring.

  2. That's a shame Robert. I think some serious damage is being done to the idea of charity. Partly for the reasons you state, and also the Democrat assault on private (religious) charity by removing tax incentives.

Bad times are a com'in if those who want to give and have the means to give find a reason not to give.

Personal story: a rich uncle was active every year in giving clothes and toys to needy families at Christmastime. For decades. Then a few years back he did the same, but when he got to the house, the welfare mom opened the door, grabbed the bags out of his hands and then closed the door. no thank you. no visit. And guess what? No more charity.
