Throw Joe Under the Bus?

Ed Rollins writes for CNN today outlining what we all agree to be true - Obama should have picked Hillary.

If Obama had done the smart thing, he would have picked Sen. Hillary Clinton for vice president. If he had, he would have united his party for sure and energized his base.
---
The one thing we know for sure -- the selection of Biden did the least to enhance any ticket since George H.W. Bush picked Dan Quayle back in 1988. This is turning out to be another election the Democrats were convinced they couldn't lose. So far, the selection of Palin has been a game-changer and has energized my party like no one since Ronald Reagan did four decades ago.

So would Obama dismiss Biden and go with Hillary at this stage?

They're not called the Do-Over Democrats for nothing. Recall Robert Torricelli dropping out of the New Jersey Governor's race on August 1, 2000 - well into the campaign. Torricelli claimed he was pressured to drop out after news of private stock deals and a looming federal investigation, but his standing in the polls was the real motivator. You see, he belongs to a political party that lusts for power. They will bend, or outright break, any rule in order to achieve it.

We put a .2 probability on an Obama-Hillary ticket. You?

David Axelrod To-Do List:

1) Call Biden, explain the campaign's "new" direction.
2) Call printers - new posters, buttons, bumper stickers ASAP
3) Call friends in MSM - Get full hour on all Sunday shows.
4) Monday - act like it was Obama-Clinton all along, and tell Republicans to "get over it".

UPDATE: 9.11 -

Even Biden thinks Hillary was the better pick!
And a review of the Democratic Party rules for a Biden-Hillary switch. U/T: Instapundit
