Peas in a Pod

The United Secret Service is joining her sister branches in the pit of corruption.  Yes, they were already there with the hooker incident down South, so today's news isn't all that shocking.

Assistant Director Edward Lowry suggested in an email to his colleagues that they release some embarrassing information on Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz.  Apparently the congressman was causing Lowry some stress, and Lowry - an agent of the Secret Service and despite being paid very well to handle stress - was not capable of handling said stress.  His suggestion went service wide.

Lowry is in a new position as part of an effort to clean up the Secret Service.  Who was the moral backbone behind that promotion?

The IRS harasses right-wingers when they are not holding training seminars in Hawaii or Vegas.  The ATF sends 2000 guns to Mexican cartels and participates in a biker purge in Waco.   The NSA is watching me type this, and is widely believed to be behind John Roberts' ObamaCare decision.  And the Secret Service is corrupt at the top.

Bush's fault, I guess.  Countdown to Lowry's next promotion: 3, 2, 1...

Comrade Aurini Sends

Comrade Davis Aurini, he who Stares at the World, shared this new song on FB.

Les Brigandes: Le grand remplacement (w/ English subtitles)

You got to give Trump credit.  Three months ago immigration was a non-issue.  His seriousness and his momentum have forced the issue to the front burner - everywhere.  The MSM is in reaction mode, as are career politicians.

He has emboldened many to shed the rot of political correctness and demand that borders be closed.

It is always fun to watch liberal progressive communist tactics fail, but this one will hurt.  Opening borders to accelerate the destruction of Western Civilization will convert the five women above to rape victims and worse.  How will the useful idiot feminists explain that?  Will we then hear how rape is "not all that bad," as we've heard about anti-police behavior within the inner city?  Will the media replace "rape" with a less severe word as they do with every black-on-white attack explained away as "rambunctious youths?"  Will government agencies redefine rape in an attempt to hide the statistics?

I am not sure if it is too late.

I AM sure that, of the GOP candidates, only one is serious about this threat.

And I AM sure that the countries that survive this invasion will be those who man their borders with armed and determined men.

Sunday Evening Cigar

I smoked a Rocky Patel Sun Grown as I finished I Led 3 Lives, by Herbert A. Philbrick.

An excellent book.  I will post my review here shortly.

Debt Chart

ZH posts an excellent chart that explains the difference between Debt to GDP, Debt to Total Revenue Ratio, and Debt to Central Government Revenue Ratio.  Here is a small part of that chart:

Any comparison that demonstrates our irresponsibility with debt as compared to others is welcome.  This is a useful tool.

Having said that...
1) Anyone who thinks that we will pay off the debt that we take today is a fool.  Obama turned the US into a subprime nation when he tripled our debt to over $18T.  It will take a responsible leader to admit this and negotiate a default with the owners of our debt.
2) This chart shows that the US is not unique in these three categories, and that we are relatively stable in relation to others.  Of course, as the world's largest and most diverse economy, we should be.
3) The chart does not have Russia listed.  The dirty secret about that mediocre economy is that their debt is radically smaller in comparison to any other nation.  How does that bode for Putin if/when the global economy erupts in a debt-crisis?
I'm no expert.  I'm just making conversation here.

Check out the full chart at ZH.

Pope AAR

Comrade Doug has a post comparing the current Pope to John Paul II:
This statement stands in stark contrast to the exhortations of the current, radical Marxist Pope who has excoriated capitalism as "the dung of the devil".

The hypocrite flies a jetliner into the US to lecture us about climate change.
The hypocrite lives behind towering walls but lectures us about opening our borders.
The hypocrite's sovereign nation has the strictest immigration laws on the planet but tells us to let the masses in.
The hypocrite ignores the miracle of Capitalism for those who practice it and even for those who don't: wealth, health, opportunity, innovation and global stability.
The hypocrite meets with the ONLY Democrat who voted for infanticide in the Illinois State Senate, and who is pushing that same policy at the national level today.

Ann Barhardt:  He is the "antipope."

To paraphrase our first lady:
For the first time in my adult life, I am proud to be a protestant.

New Book: In Order To Live

http://www.amazon.com/Order-Live-Korean-Journey-Freedom/dp/0241203619/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=ur2&qid=1443216906&sr=8-1&tag=ushankaus-20&linkId=24W2GV6DUNDCWO64

Yeonmi Park escaped from North Korea before she was 21.

Her book comes out next week: In Order To Live.

Amazon:

'I am most grateful for two things: that I was born in North Korea, and that I escaped from North Korea.' Yeonmi Park was not dreaming of freedom when she escaped from North Korea. She didn't even know what it meant to be free. All she knew was that she was running for her life, that if she and her family stayed behind they would die - from starvation, or disease, or even execution. This book is the story of Park's struggle to survive in the darkest, most repressive country on earth; her harrowing escape through China's underworld of smugglers and human traffickers; and then her escape from China across the Gobi desert to Mongolia, with only the stars to guide her way, and from there to South Korea and at last to freedom; and finally her emergence as a leading human rights activist - all before her 21st birthday.

Telegraph:

I was taught never to express my opinion, never to question anything. I was taught simply to follow what the government told me to do or say or think. I actually believed that our Dear Leader, Kim Jong Il, could read my mind, and I would be punished for my bad thoughts. And if he didn’t hear me, spies were everywhere, listening at the windows and watching in the school yard.

We were ordered to inform on anyone who said the wrong thing. We lived in fear. In most countries, a mother encourages her children to ask about everything, but not in North Korea. As soon as I was old enough to understand, my mother warned me to be careful about what I was saying. ‘Remember, Yeonmi-ya,’ she said gently, ‘even when you think you’re alone, the birds and mice can hear you whisper.’

Change We Can Believe In

Just breaking....

Boehner to resign from congress.

No reason yet, but my gut says "Thank You Trump."

Trump's lead in the polls with anti-establishment loud-mouthed unapologetic f**k-political correctness strength is the real reason.

I'm sure we'll hear about a health issue, or the harm to political discourse, or something.  Whatever.

As 'one of those tea party weirdos' who Boehner ignored since our first party on March 15, 2009, I say:

UPDATED 9:30pm:

In The Mail

Anti-Communist David Horowitz has a new book out: The Black Book of the American Left.  The publication date is listed as Nov 5, yet it appears to be in stock at Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Black-Book-American-Left-Conservative-ebook/dp/B00F21VXTY/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=ur2&qid=&sr=&tag=ushankaus-20&linkId=YSPD4333T7LY2MAG

I generally don't buy political books.  Most just tell me what I already know or have some liberal filler that only drives me further right.  The last political book I think I read was Breitbart's.  Like Breitbart, I have plenty to learn from Mr. Horowitz and I look forward to reading his new book.

U/T: Breitbart

Horowitz:
We are within reach of a totalitarian state in this country…These are very very dark days for this country.

Immigration

Apparently Donald Trump is a punchline to the South Park boys.  Specifically his immigration position.

As a die-hard South Park fan, I am always prepared to be offended, although rarely so.  I think their 2004 Woodland Christmas Critters episode was the last one that violated everything decent in the world.

This week's episode may change that, and Trump isn't even my first, second or third pick for the GOP.  (Picks #1 and #2 have dropped out, so Trump is starting to look pretty good . . . )

Noisy Room has posted six videos in their post, EUROPE IS BURNING.  Matt Stone and Trey Parker have not seen these yet, but you can.  Here is video #1:

Wednesday Evening Cigar

I relaxed with a Rocky Patel Sun Grown as I thought about the in-fighting and desperation tonight, and every night, at DNC headquarters.  They still have many late nights ahead.

I finished Cliff Kincaid's The Sword of the Revolution and started Herbert A. Philbrick's I Led 3 Lives.

The Sword of the Revolution:  I regret that I cannot recommend this book. Kincaid is one of the leading anti-communists in the US and he is doing God's work in his organizations.  His articles are always top shelf, but that quality did not carry over to this book.

The book fails to prove the thesis which is that the fall of the Soviet Union was part of a plan by world communists to remove the obstacle for world domination.  The comparison to Lenin's NEP is a stretch.  Yes, NEP was a retreat to save the Soviet Union.  But the fall of the Soviet Union was not a temporary retreat to save a global communist takeover.  And I think cooperation among world communist governments today is out of shared short-term goals rather than an organized effort.

The book is also poorly organized.

The author is spot on in his assessment that communism is gaining strength and that communists worldwide are emboldened by their successes.  He is dead on about Putin's communist plans.

This book is a month old, and it is relevant to the 2016 election.  The author addresses Hillary and Bernie and the political landscape.  I'd suggest this book to those seeking an update on international and national communist activities and goals.

I'm 1/3 into Herbert A. Philbrick's I Led 3 Lives.  This is a great story about a man being pulled into the secret communist organizations in Boston before and during WWII.  I'll write more about this in the coming days.

Atoning?

Really?

Today's Drudge:

Finally we are atoning for killing and organ-harvesting on a scale greater than Hitler, Mao or Stalin!

UPDATED 2 minutes later:

I should have known better, and I stand corrected.

Drudge linked to this article, which only references abortion in this paragraph:
Contentious issues involving Church doctrine on the family -- such as abortion rights and contraception coverage -- will be swept under the carpet of the Oval Office. But the pope, who called for “a poor Church for the poor” on his election, is expected to elevate his concern for the downtrodden and the excluded for a global audience.
We will not atone for the baby holocaust of 58,285,845 dead and counting.  The president and the pope will discuss "important" issues instead, like more open borders, more redistribution, more socialism via "climate change," and more social justice (an approved term for institutionalized racism and hate towards white males and other producers in society).

Catholics are in the same boat as conservative Americans.  They have the marxist pope, and we have the marxist Obama.  We'd be counseled to embrace patience as this stupidity runs its course like a Taco Bell burrito.  Yes, but.

I'd urge my fellow Americans and Christians to consider agitation too.  When you're called a "wrecker," a "speculator," a "hoarder," or "bourgeoisie," you'll know you're doing it right.

Tuesday Afternoon Cigar

I admired my Glorious Hat on the book shelf through a haze of Rocky Patel Sun Grown smoke.

Political novelty season is coming comrades, as is winter, and you can't admire a t-shirt on a shelf...

I finished Ayn Rand's, We The Living, and will post my review shortly.

I also started hat owner and comrade Cliff Kincaid's The Sword of the Revolution

(Not to be confused with Trotskyite Ygael Gluckstein's (aka Tony Cliff) The Sword of the Revolution.)

But He's Not a Socialist!

Advice for GOP

From the not so right wing Stuart Varney at FOXNews:

"This president helped kill the American Dream. This president has trapped African Americans in poverty. This president has ruined and made worse our health care system. This president has divided America."Varney & Co. said voters are ready to listen to a bold candidate who doesn't pander to the American people and goes straight after President Barack Obama for his "failed policies."

Gutfeld on Lib vs Conservative

Greek Election Today

The left will win over 70% of the vote in today's election.  But that isn't the story.  It is those damn "right wing Nazis" (the Golden Dawn party) that will take a larger share - maybe 7% - than they've taken in the past.

Ushanka Rule # 38:
When Liberals Progressives Communists call others "Nazis," they are trying to distract from those of us who call them Commies.
I don't know Golden Dawn's stand on eradicating the Jews from society or their desire to invade their neighbors.  I assume I would have seen something in the old media had they made either of those announcements.

But I have come to understand European politics.  And like the US, any non-leftist (read non-communist) political party is deemed "Nazi."

True, Hitler campaigned against the communists.  He asked voters, "Do you want to bring the destructive policies of Russia here?"  That kind of campaigning will take you from a 1% minority party to a massive majority is less than a decade.  As it did for Hitler, a socialist.

In Left and Right terms, Europe has the same Left that we have here with Obama, Hillary, and Bernie Sanders - Heavy Socialism.  Or my preferred label: Soft Communism.  Where they differ is on the Right.

Elections are won on 'either-or." EITHER you like them more and give them your vote, OR you like us more and will give us your vote.  Each party frames their value with this choice.  Yes it is simplistic, but voters are, um, more inclined to respond to simplistic options as we learned in 2008.

But the European-to-American translation of "Left-Right" is where small-minded useful idiots (Democrats) go off the rails.  Europeans have always, always, always been limited in their choices.  EITHER Communism, OR something slightly better.  They have never had a party of the Right as we have, which is one reason America became the greatest nation on the planet in less than 200 years.

So when The Telegraph tells us Golden Dawn is "Far right / neo Nazis" who will take third place in today's election, they are perpetuating a falsehood common with old media outlets.  Golden Dawn is, actually, just slightly less Left wing than Syriza, the failed majority party that made today's elections possible with the resignation of their failed leader, Tsipras.
Syriza's position: Total Socialism funded by other European economies.
Golden Dawn's positions: Total Socialism funded by other European economies, and stopping immigration.

Greece is doomed just as Detroit, Chicago and California - they keep electing the Left.  I have no sympathy for their suffering, but I do have some advice:
Lindsey Graham will soon be suspending his campaign here in the States.  He'd be an incredible improvement over any Greek politician, and he'd appreciate the interest.
My $0.02.

U/T: Matt Forney.

UPDATED 2:30pm:

The results are in.  Reuters:  Greek voters return Tsipras to power with strong win

Golden Dawn got 7%.

Trump on 2A

I've been critical about Trump's lack of policy positions on his website.  (One third of the GOP candidates STILL do not have an Issues tab on their websites!!)  Trump just added his second policy position: gun rights.  He doesn't mention repealing the NFA or eliminating the ATF, but he does back CCW Reciprocity.

Frankly, the 2A issue is so important to your comrade Karl here that I'm fine if Trump wants to take some time off to relax.  We've made some incredible progress at the state level during Obama's tenure, and we are overdue for some seriousness at the federal level.

When he gets back in the office I'd like to see him list some more.  Such as:
Education (vouchers)
Debt (immediate default and restructuring)
Energy (open drilling rights everywhere)
Foreign Policy (roll back Russia, contain China, bomb Iran)
Marriage (push a constitutional amendment)
Health Care (repeal ObamaCare and open competition across state lines)
Taxes (a single federal consumption tax)

Trump now has the only score in the Ushanka GOP Rankings worksheet in the Gun Rights column.  The highest possible score is three, and the scores in that column are a tally of support for these three items:
Repeal NFA
Defund and Disband ATF
CCW Reciprocity

Quote of the Day

Greg Hunter has the quote of the day:
(0:26) The Fed is not raising interest rates, and this proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that we do not have a recovery.
Watch his YouTube video if you have 20 minutes.  Listen for key words and phrases:

integrity
negative interest rates
more money printing
massive fraud
debt bombs
phony accounting
nightmare

Greg's channel focuses on the pessimistic side of the economy, as does Peter Schiff, ZeroHedge and others.  I showed in my recent video that their advice has been wrong over the past six years.  BUT,  their warnings carry more weight after actual events like the Fed's decision yesterday.

Today's MW begs the question: who still trusts the monetary and fiscal policy folks with their financial future?

Thursday Evening Cigar

Rocky Patel Sun Grown.

The weather is getting better here in SW Ohio.  I anticipate more cigar posts in the coming days.

I am over half way through Ayn Rand's first book, We The Living.  It is wonderful.

It isn't as gripping as Atlas Shrugged (my all time favorite book) nor The Fountain Head, but I'd blame that more on it being her first book.  It is a semi-autobiography of Ayn's in Soviet Russia 3-4 years after the October Revolution of 1917.  The characters are fictional, but their experiences are similar to the author's.

Try to imagine the destruction a few years into a communist-ruled country that had it pretty good until the communists showed up . . .

The promises didn't come through, and utopia was delayed.  In other words, the hope was wasted, and the change was all for the worse.

The best thing, so far, is that ups and downs people go through during these changes.  The rich are driven into the worst poverty, but some then find opportunities. The revolutionaries are high on the hog when the redistribution is in full force, but then fall out of favor when there are only scraps left.

We The Living is a sad story.  Very sad.  But it is a window into the destructive power of communist thought.  It should be recommended reading for all high school freshman.

I'll post more here soon.

U/T:  Comrade J for recommending the book.
